Their geographic regions are screwy, or they were for my area. I do not feel like they hit my target areas of potential hires to pull from.
We did not get a *single* hit on Monster. Not one! What a waste of money. Zip Recruiter is the way to go! We've gotten 25 hits in 3 weeks and have filled 3 open positions with people who are completely qualified, with interviews scheduled all week for the rest. It may be worth noting that we are hiring for both skilled & entry-level blue collar positions.
Note: I am completely unaffiliated from any company. I am HR for a small business who cannot really afford to shell out hundreds of dollars and not get anything in return. We were very disappointed in Monster.
Poor number of applicants, especially for the cost. I got more from free job postings. I hired an applicant who applied on Indeed and ZipRecruiter.
I have advertised on a lot of sites, and this by far has been the least helpful. It also is the most expensive. I reached out to one the sales people to help us, and she tried her best to be helpful, but we did not find one good candidate. Our Corporate has stopped using Monster, and now I can see that it does not have useful candidates.
I specifically was looking for a licensed inspector and received ONLY random applicants looking for a job.
I thought Monsters would be better than Craigslist. Not the case. To top it off Monsters cost more to place an ad!
Never again.
I have been in business for 20 years and take my advise and don't spend your money on Monster
Can't link candidates to an ATS so that everything can be tracked in one place. Quality of candidates are not as strong as other sources. Have not hired anyone from Monster -- everyone has been from other sources. Expensive in comparison to better systems and sources. Reporting and stats are outdated and not very useful. I won't be using Monster again.
This will be the last time I use Monster, the response was poor, the quality was poor. Numerous other sites with identical postings were able to capture a much better audience and response.
I am in Hawaii, I repeat Hawaii, looking for a clerical position to fill in. Why send my job opening to people thousands of miles away.
in 1 month, got 2 resumes, both from across the Pacific...
After spending close to $400 to find a replacement for a assistant store manager position I have almost zero qualified candidates that applied. I pretty much got the same results prior to using Monster from Craig's list.Only had to spend $45 there.
Very good tools to work with and positive results
Unfortunately the candidates were not qualified even though the filters were all in place. I kept getting candidates that didn't meet the criteria. I called several times but the representatives couldn't help. Absolutely not worth the investment.
I have received very few resumes. The resumes received for the most part have nothing to do with the positions itself. I posted jobs for a medical scheduler, front desk reception, and medical assistant. These jobs are usually filled quickly. I get the impression that potential employees that would ordinarily seek these jobs do not search on Monster. Of the resumes received, most applicants had zero experience and my ad clearly states the amount of experience required. It is as if they didn't bother to read the ad. Monster cannot control this situation and I don't blame the company. In my experience thus far, it was not worth the money spent. I get better results from sites that cost SIGNIFICANTLY less.
Very expensive, the verification process took forever and there wasn't as many qualified people as I wanted on the site. Long story short, no new employees, and a lot money and time wasted
I had pretty good results in terms of candidates applying, but too many were outside the city where the posts are based. I would also like to see application notification email titles vary by applicant, e.g. have the titles include the applicant name, because Gmail currently groups Monster applications, and this is a problem when trying to organise applications into folders.
Fair amount of responses but none with any qualifications for the jposition.
I received over 100 applicants for an important position I was filing with my team. I got more than enough who were qualified and in the final stages of interviewing to make my decision. Monster.com gave me the very best of candidates to choose from. Thank you Monster!
