I’ve been using hosting from hostmycode for some time now and my experience has been good. The service works reliably and my website runs smoothly without any major problems. Whenever I needed help, the support team was responsive and helpful. Setting everything up was also quite simple, even for someone who is not very technical. Hello,
This review leaves out several important facts, so we would like to clarify what actually happened.
Your VPS was automatically provisioned immediately after purchase - there was no 24-hour delay. Our system activates VPS orders instantly, and your server credentials were delivered right away.
Before purchasing, you specifically asked whether port 25 was open. Our team clearly informed you that port 25 is restricted on our basic plans due to heavy spam abuse, and requests to open it must go through a review process.
Despite this, you proceeded to purchase our lowest plan (₹599 VPS) and immediately requested that port 25 be opened and a PTR record be set pointing to a bulk-mail related domain. For obvious security and abuse-prevention reasons, such requests are not approved instantly and must go through verification.
Additionally, the order raised risk flags because the account location was Ukraine while the payment was made using a US card, which requires additional checks under our abuse prevention policies.
When we informed you that the request was under review, instead of waiting you chose to post a negative review claiming the service was not delivered.
For the sake of customer satisfaction, we still issued a full refund, even though the VPS had already been provisioned and accessible.
We take network reputation and abuse prevention seriously. Restrictions like port 25 filtering on entry-level VPS plans exist specifically to protect our infrastructure and other customers from spam activity.
We wish you the best with another provider that better suits your requirements.
