IDealing Avis 45

I have been an active customer with iDealing since it launched in 2000.
It has always been a low cost platform good for execution only dealing.
In recent years there has been very little investment or innovation in the product just a focus on cost reduction -manifesting itself in reduced staff (and hence reduced service). It is now run on a skeleton crew and impossible to speak to anyone for anything other than dealing - everything else goes into an email black hole. Large withdrawals or ISA transfers can only be done via a cheque in the post (can you believe in 2026!) and only after huge delays keeping you uninvested. Confusion and poor communication over de-listed stocks, corporate actions and insolvent companies - along with huge delays in responding to emails have pushed me to move my account elsewhere. The moving process took many months and caused considerable stress. Be warned - and frankly avoid this platform which is no longer fit for purpose evidenced by the scale of FCA and FOS complaints against them.

I have been with iDealing for a number of years as their platform offers a number of more advanced features that other providers do not, such as real time LSE prices, and dealing costs are low.
Recently they have implemented an excellent charting tool (demonstrated to me in an excellent phone tutorial by Gary) which is powerful and easy to use.
I only deny them a 5th star as the payments in/out procedure is a bit antediluvian, with large single withdrawals still needing to be made by cheque - but it shouldn't put you off this otherwise excellent platform & service.

Great personal service and cost effective account.

I have had an Idealing account for over 20 years and am pleased with the service I have had over that time. The site is easy to navigate and use, and has some useful additional tools such as the charting functionality. On the occasions when I have had to contact admin directly I have found them helpful and responsive.

I have been an active invester with this company for many years. Easy to use platform with many useful tools for both novices and experienced investors. Recently being in my late 70s and I thought I knew enough already but I had my horizons expanded by virtue of a couple of telephone tutorials from iDealing. These showed how I could make better use of their free to use tools on their platform. This opened further opportunities which will benefit me as I grow older and seek to maximise return from my ISA holdings . Best dealing rates of any of my 4 broker accounts and a very extensive range of LSE listed shares, bonds and gilts. Highly recommended

Just had an excellent tutorial on their platform with Gary at iDealing lasting over 1.5 hours. He was extremely informative and patiently took me through all the available charting features on their platform and answered some specific queries. I have been with iDealing for over 20 years and am very pleased with the service they provide.

I like idealing, glad to have it available as a service. I can use it in a straightforward way and it works. Execution is solid, unlike some platforms and the FAQ and pdf forms fulfills most queries. It is quick and clear to use and help is there from a well-informed human by email or phone if you need it. Fees are reasonable. I use it regularly.

Great value service. My family ave been trading with them for 25 years. You still get the personal touch. Very low account fees and cost prepared to comeptitors.

I have been with idealing for quite a while and find they provide extremely good personnel service, together with good value. I initially had several brokers but have now settled on idealing. They are also one of the few brokers that provide Direct Market access on shares if available. I have found getting money out was annoying when setting up, but once set up there has been no problem - I think this would be the same with any broker due to financial regulations.

Simple to use and ghreat value!

I have been with iDealing for 20 years now. Whilst I also use other brokers, iDealing's customer service is very personal as they are a smallish, private company with very longstanding employees who you come to know by name.

They also have very competitive charges, in particular when thinking about FX conversions.

I've been with iDealing for many years and find the platform easy to use and admin staff always very helpful. The app is useful when on the move (Andriod).
My recent transfer in from Jarvis went well.

Have been an iDealing ISA account holder for 20 years. This platform may not offer some of frills other like HL or AJ Bell offer, but it works well. Additionally the trading and admin teams are very accessible and they will make some instruments, esp. funds available if not seen. Their charting package might take a little efforts to use properly but it works too. all in all, as a low cost provider, it is a v good one.

Do not transfer your ISA into Idealing! Easy to transfer in hard to transfer out without being skimmed by Idealing. Idealing does not just limit how much you are allowed to transfer out each time, also charged extra fee to transfer out your cash balance and took 2 week the maximum time they are allowed to get away with

Great service, always approachable, one of the few brokers with access to LSE Orderbook. Big hi-5 please to Gary at iDealing who I have known for many years: always found the team very helpful - example: wanted to trade a very small AIM stock, and they enabled dealing immediately. Free streaming quotes for individuals too. I have had many experiences (usually with bonus issues of stock) when the team has gone way above and beyond to ensure all works smoothly.

I have read many of the negative comments and whilst I recognise some of them, my experience over the past 20 years has been positive. Transfers in and out of SIPP accounts will always be problematic and the one situation that I has with iDealing worked well except for certificated holdings. I have always received prompt responses by phone or email to my sometimes complex questions. Today I had a 1 1/2 hour 1:1 tutorial on how to use various tools on the site, which was not asked for but very useful and informative. I do share the view that cash withdrawals really should be simpler, faster and lower cast - I also use interactive investor where I can get immediate withdrawals at no cost using Faster payments (with a limit of £20,000). Overall I am happy with idealing.

Transferred cash from my ISA account into my Standard account so I'd have a single £5k of total cash to transfer out. (SpeedyTransfers take a day!) When I tried to do so, the cash transfer between my accounts, while showing on their web pages, did not materialise within the ledger for transferring out until the next day. They are now making a big play on the fact they are offering commission free USA stocks and bond trades, but their platform only updates USA stock prices on a monthly (sometimes bi-monthly) basis. So hard to see value of holdings.

Many years ago I transferred my pension funds from insurance companies, into cash and into equities via i Dealing.com. Since then I have never drawn a penny back until NOW and I have decided to cash in.
They offer NO CHAPS or BACS payment and a limit of £50k per cheque and a £25 fee for each one. When one has built a tidy sum this withdrawal is very expensive indeed for what should be a simple Internet Banking transaction.

Bad service so I decided to leave but the bad service continues. This is what's happening . . .

Thursday, 28 December 2023:
I complained that iDealing was delaying the transfer of my ISA to AJBell.
Apparently, iDealing ignored this complaint.

Tuesday, 9 January 2024:
iDealing missed the agreed transfer and settlement date.

Thursday, 1 February 2024:
AJB inform me that iDealing is still delaying this transfer.
AJB have recently chased you up on these delays, but to no avail.
AJB are awaiting a response from iDealing.

My family have other accounts with iDealing and are following my experiences with interest.
