Indian Excursions curated the most incredible mother-daughter trip for us – every detail was thoughtfully planned and perfectly tailored to our preferences. From the moment we arrived, we felt like princesses. Each hotel they selected was more spectacular than the last, offering luxurious comfort, exceptional service, and unforgettable experiences – including sipping coffee on our balcony while looking at the Taj Mahal!

We both love photography, and one of the best surprises was how the guides, besides being incredibly knowledgeable, also took the most amazing photos of us. It felt like having a personal photographer the entire time!

The tiger safari was a dream – the glamping experience was on another level of luxury and adventure. Truly one of a kind.

I travel often, but the level of customer service we experienced in India was unlike anything I’ve seen before. Every hotel made us feel special and cared for. Our wonderful driver, Sanjay, made us feel safe and comfortable throughout the journey.

This month we took our second trip to India with Indian Excursions Co. (“IE”). The first trip was in 2018, to Rajasthan, which is IE’s primary focus, and we wrote a very positive review following that trip. This month we traveled with them to the South - Goa, Mumbai and Aurangabad (to see the Ajanta and Ellora caves – they are amazing!), where IE also offers tours. The quality of the service they provided on this trip was no less than on the first one. On both trips they did everything they said they would do and more. I don’t see how anybody could have done it better.
While IE offers set itineraries on their website, they are responsive to requests for changes. On this trip they added at our request additional touring in Goa. Again, they made traveling solo very easy and safe. Our accommodations were all at Taj hotels, which are luxurious and have excellent restaurants and facilities. As last time, at each location we had a dedicated guide, who in every case was very knowledgeable and responsive and, together with the driver, friendly and committed to taking good care of us. We were always transported in a new SUV stocked with water and snacks. IE arranged and ticketed our domestic flights and picked us up from and brought us back to the airport for our next flight, no matter what time of day or night. The touring was great. We saw all of the most significant sites (temples, forts, palaces, etc.) but also got to see where people worked (e.g,, fishermen bringing in their nets and selling their fish), prayed, shopped (both at outdoor markets and modern malls) and lived. We walked through the slums in Mumbai and drove through villages in the countryside and prosperous neighborhoods. We felt that we had seen or done whatever could be packed into the limited time we had for the trip.
In sum, we can’t recommend them highly enough.

Visiting India has always been in our bucket list but didn't want to venture on our own. Our original plan going via a cruise got cancelled but we had our heart set on going so my partner started searching for travel companies and that's how we found Indian Excursions and what a serendipitous find!

It was a pleasure planning our trip to Rajasthan with Maddie. We gave her our parameters of # of days, must see places and hotels we wanted to try and came up with an itinerary that was just perfect for us.

But the true test of Shiv & Maddie's commitment to their clients happened when a week before our trip, there was an accident in our house and we, unfortunately, had to cancel. Just one call to Maddie explaining our situation and she took care of everything and was able to negotiate an extension with all our hotels.

We finally went on our India adventure and it was worth the wait! There was always one representative that met us when we arrived/left each city, our personal driver (Narendra) who was on standby and took care of us during our whole trip and of course, the local guides who took us to see the sights and explained the history of the places we visited. It was also really nice that we met Shiv while we were in Delhi.

If ever we have the pleasure of returning to India, my call would only be to Maddie & Shiv. Thank you both for a memorable trip!

We covered Jaipur, Agra and Delhi in a week. We had the same driver (Sanjay) each day. He was very safe, reliable, and attentive and we enjoyed getting to know him. In each city we had a different tour guide. Each was excellent and very knowledgeable. Besides seeing the various historical sites, we also visited places featuring incredible artisans. Our guides were personable and very hospitable. We were able to have meaningful conversations with them which gave us better insight into the daily life of ordinary people and the challenges they face. Mansingh in Jaipur and AK in Agra were both outstanding. Both helped us get excellent photographs. This was our first visit to India and we enjoyed our visit and learned a lot. From the time we first contacted Indian Excursions until the time we said goodbye, we were helped every step of the way. There was always someone readily available to assist us with whatever we needed. The chosen accommodations and guides were all first rate. We appreciated having our boarding passes sent the day before. There was nothing that we can think of that they could improve upon. If you have the chance to stay at Oberoi properties, we can highly recommend them in all 6 locations where we stayed. Our driver, Yash, was excellent and despite the crazy traffic, we always felt safe with him at the wheel. Wonderful itinerary and perfectly executed operations in all the 4 cities!

This is the second time we’ve asked Madeleine and Shiv to arrange our trip, and once again, they exceeded our expectations! The entire experience was seamless and unforgettable.
Luke, our guide for the second time, was as always absolutely fantastic – professional, knowledgeable, and incredibly welcoming. He made us feel safe and ensured every moment was memorable. Team: terrific, very committed to making our trip as comfortable as possible; very knowledgeable and flexible with regard to the cultural and natural sights we wanted to experience; very helpful with all the small intricacies of modern life for international travellers - including local SIM cards and shopping.
2. Hotels: excellent; particularly enjoyed the Devigarh and its surroundings.
3. Transportation: the car was comfortable and spacious enough for two adult women - myself and my daughter. A special word of thanks to our calm and reliable driver Kundan Singh for his strong nerves and expertise in moving us through the chaos that is Indian traffic.
4. Guidance for itinerary: Madeleine, your experience was a tremendous help in the planning phase, - and your word of warning with regard to the guest house in the Keoladeo was absolutely accurate - nothing seems to have changed since I was there in 1990 (at which time I remember commenting to my husband that it was very basic indeed). Next time I will follow your advice and stay in the hotel you suggest!
5. Overall impression: This has been a wonderful experience and I am grateful to Indian Excursions for their advice and their expert staff in making it all possible. There was always time enough for us to pursue our interests (sketching, photography), which I (the one who sketches) greatly enjoyed.

Our trip to Incredible India was made possible by the professionalism, attention to detail and care shown by Shiv and Madeleine. They were nothing short of superb. Our driver was a standout. The car was impeccable and fully stocked each day. Our guides were excellent. Nothing was too much for the guides, the drivers and above all, Shiv and Madeleine. We shall be back.

From first contact with ( owner) Madeleine to the completion of the trip , everything went smoothly. We were embarrassed at times by how well we were treated by hotel staff and our guide. Nothing was too much trouble. We felt very safe with our excellent driver who negotiated the chaotic Indian road system ( no rules!). The Oberoi hotels were magnificent, and the food ( curries) excellent. The highlight of the trip was seeing the Taj Mahal. We did a very educational Indian cooking class ( and got to eat the resulting meal). Unfortunately we didn’t get to see a tiger in Ranthambore. - but that is the only negative I can think of.

Madeleine brought this once in a lifetime trip to life from the moment we started working with her. She made planning the entire trip stress free and put together a wonderfully colourful itinerary that was efficiently carried out by her ground staff in India. Thank you 🙏

We had an incredible 12-day trip with Indian Excursions. From the very first moment, Madeleine was patient and accommodating, meticulously rearranging the itinerary to suit our preferences and budget. Once we arrived, the entire team took excellent care of us. Our driver, who accompanied us throughout the journey, consistently went above and beyond to ensure our comfort. Maddie and Shiv were great to work with and delivered on everything promised or subsequently requested by us. Our holiday was headache free (except for a luggage issue on a domestic flight which was the carrier’s fault and which Shiv and his local representatives stayed on top of until it was resolved while we went about our touring).

Communication with the tour organizer was good. At times commitments for communication were made but not always followed through timely. The itinerary was thoughtful and complete. However, the main reason for 5 stars was the excellent tour guide and support team. Luke, our driver and the assistant were fantastic. They communicated very well. Adjusted the schedule when necessary. Provided top-notch service to ensure comfort and safety. Luke was kind and knowledgeable. He was constantly working to ensure that everything happened very smoothly. His recommendations for lunch and dinner were wonderful. I would definitely do another tour with Luke again.

My wife and I had a wonderful experience in India thanks to Indian Excursions Co. It was a luxury tour and every detail of our customized itinerary including what, where and who, were as described in the materials they provided. Their execution was flawless, the driver and guides always on time and prepared with tickets and access to every important site. Especial recognition to our driver whose skill in driving, warm personality and care for us throughout the two-week tour was extraordinary. The guides in each city were professional and knowledgeable. In addition, even at the most popular and busiest of sites, we rarely waited for tickets or stood in line.
A particular mention also to our safari guide in Ranthambore whose tracking skills resulted in extraordinarily close encounters with tigers.
We stayed at Oberoi and Taj hotels all of which were comfortable as well as sumptuous. The staffs were welcoming and accommodating. One of the highlights of the tour was the visit to Bungalow two, a guest house, where we had a private performance of a Bhopa legend enacted by dance. The conversations with the hostess and her sister-in-law at dinner were most enjoyable. Their dinner of Indian specialties was the best we had on the trip.
Thanks to Madeleine whose responsiveness, meticulous planning, flawless execution and selection of places to see and what to do made our time in India memorable. We strongly recommend Indian Excursions Co as the agency to use for travel to Rajasthan.

How do you rate a trip that exceeded all of your expectations and provided you with the most memorable trip of your life? Five stars is too low a rating for the travel program developed by Indian Excursions for our visit to India. Not a detail was missed. Our hotels were beautiful. The service provided by Indian Excursions, its guides, hotel management and staff, and all the other service providers was impeccable. We traveled comfortably with our wonderful driver, Sanjay. My only wish is that Indian Excursions could plan all of my trips!

Best trip of our life!

All I can say is, we have been to over 40 countries and all 7 Continents and India was by far the best trip of our life. This was largely due to the planning and execution of Madeleine and Shiv at Indian Excursions.

We couldn't of asked for more. Our driver Shelly and our guide Lokendra were incredible and by the end felt like we were leaving family. They were with us every step of the way and made the trip seem like it was on autopilot.

We started in Mumbai then to Updaipur, Jaipur, Ranthambore (tiger safari a must), Agra and ended in Delhi.

Nothing was too small to ask, and the itinerary went almost too smooth.

Just an amazing company to work with and we cannot wait to plan a return trip.

Recently we had a trip to India through Indian excursions . Maddie was amazing planning stages . I wanted to stay in boutique heritage hotels . She listened to the brief I gave her and came up with a bespoke itinerary for my husband and I . We were met at the airport by Shiv on arrival in Delhi . Unfortunately the Airline we flew with ( we arranged our flights ourselves lost our baggage) . Shiv went above and beyond tracking down our baggage and having it delivery to us the next day .
We were provided with a driver Sanjay who safely navigated us through all the wonderful destinations . Sanjay was extremely professional and the vehicle was top notch .
At each destination we were greeted by a company representative who explained the next part of our itinerary and helped with a smooth check in. Answering any questions we had .
We also had a guide at each destination that showed us the sights . They all were exceptionally knowledgeable about the history and cultural aspect of each locality.
What Madeline organised for us was not just a run of the mill cooks cutter tour . It was a delightful taste of luxurious boutique hotels and experiences . That made it a trip of a lifetime .
We have travelled extensively and can easily say these guys are really excellent at what they do and I wouldn’t hesitate for one second to recommend this company!
