black box

my eldest lad had ingenie years ago and was nice to see how he drove and not speed. now my youngest has black box which puts my mine at ease. when passed test should have P new driver on car for first 12 months by law

Read the terms and conditions of your agreement before you sing up with this insurance policy, as the will change the policy and ask you to buy mileage, plus administration fee, this is the most complicated and liying insurance company out there!

Hi, I'd like to assure you that as an insurance broker we're part of a highly regulated industry and wouldn't lie to our drivers.

We're very transparent on our quote form about the insurance mileage, just under the box to enter your mileage, it states, 'If you drive more than the miles you enter on the form then you'll need to buy more miles to keep your insurance running'. We totally get that sometimes it's hard to know at the start of your insurance exactly how much you'll be driving, so you can add more if needed. It's also really important that your policy matches your needs - one of the main factors used to work out the price is how often you'll be using the car - so it's likely that if you had put a higher number of miles on your original quote, the original price would have been more accurate.

I cancelled the policy 2 hours from…

I cancelled the policy 2 hours from purchasing it after I realised there is no call centre for this insurance company and you cannot talk to anyone, just a poor quality chat. They still managed to charge me £35 for cancellation (I had a policy for 2 hours!) and still haven’t got the remaining of the money back! Awful experience!

The worst customer service I have ever…

The worst customer service I have ever received in my life. The company operates solely via a poor performing live chat experience. They often leave you 15-20 mins without response. Then Terri or Madeline are rude and unhelpful. They're cheap, but it isn't worth it! All they care about is profits. SCUM!

Transparent Feedback

Not a bad insurance company at all, I have been with them for a year and never had any issues or had to make a claim.

HOWEVER when it came to being given a renewal quote it was atrocious. They gave a false pretence it was going to be amazing yet they gave me a measly £250 discount (with a 1 year no claims bonus). Went to a comparison site and Ingenie quoted a reduction of £500ish.

Don’t trust this company to give a good renewal quote. And when the renewal time comes get a quote on comparison site 30 days in advance to guarantee the best price if you’d like to stay with them.

Unjustified Claim

My son used this company for his first years car insurance. Although he never had any claims or accidents the black box was alerted to an incident when his battery died. There was a claims marker placed on his insurance history.
Despite ringing them and receiving confirmation of proof of no claims discount the marker remains against his name and he is often refused insurance by other companies.
Kids struggle at the best of times to afford car insurance so this kind of thing makes an already difficult situation almost impossible!!
