Pays to shop around
Been insured for a good number of years, the boat yard this year changed its cover requirements to £5m indemnity required. Insure4 boats only offers £3m so had to find an alternative insurer.
In doing so got better cover and lower premium so not all bad in the end but could have done without the hassle!

At present, our policies offer up to £3m public liability, and we appreciate that this may not meet every marina or boatyard’s specific requirements. Your feedback is important, and situations like this are exactly what we review when considering how our products evolve.

Plz plz plz don’t give these boat insurers your money they are great at taking it and reminding you when it’s due until you need to genuinely claim.what you think your insured for and what they tell you your insured for is totally the opposite . I just got my letter back today off them I got the old didn’t maintain my boat properly excuse , total bull s… Avoid

I wasn't happy about the auto renewal as I wanted to pay monthly this year due to loss of my job

The policy has been auto renewed as per email sent on the 6 April. However, I have asked one of my colleagues to give you a ring to change it over to refund payment and set up on the monthly installments for you.

Easy yearly insurance. No thousands of questions quick and easy. Haven’t had to use them in any claim though.

There was no communication at all…
There was no communication at all before the renewal. Therefore the company have just assumed they could take money without prior notice of cost and no opportunity to decline renewal.

We understand your concerns regarding auto-renewal and I would like to clarify this for you.
We issue a renewal invitation approximately 28 days before the policy is due to automatically renew, which outlines the upcoming renewal and provides the opportunity to opt out of auto-renewal as confirmed in our Terms of Business Agreement found both online and in your documents. Customers can opt out of automatic renewal at any point during the policy, either by contacting us directly or by managing their preferences within their online account.
I can see that we issued your renewal notice to the email on your policy as of 03/04/2026. This notice shows the date of your renewal, your renewal quote and the payment method which would be used.
