I loved my experience with IIN but there's room to improve
I loved my experience with IIN. It helped me expand my knowledge in this health and wellness journey I started from my own experience with insulin resistance.
However, I do think there are certain things that could improve:
1. I feel like the course is designed for everyone to pass. As someone who likes competence, challenges, and putting real effort into knowledge, I understand it’s self-paced, but I feel the course is extremely easy and doesn’t really push you forward. I don’t love that feeling.
2. Even the 10-month course has a lot of information, and sometimes it feels like it’s designed to keep graduating people without focusing enough on avoiding burnout or building real competence. The information is not hard, but it is A LOT, especially because the idea is to actually internalize what you learn. Considering that many people have jobs, some women are moms, and others are dealing with health issues, it’s easy to feel close to burnout. I also don’t think it’s okay to graduate if you haven’t finished the modules. Yes, there are requirements, but they feel too easy.
3. Lack of support. Having to send an email just to ask a simple question makes everything feel tedious. I also didn’t always feel like the emails were carefully read, so sometimes I had to over-explain my question because the first answer didn’t really address what I asked.
4. I had the chance to meet really cool people and become friends with them, even if we live very far away. But I would love to have more spaces to build community and actually get to know people better, even from a distance.
5. There is a lot of information, but not enough room to practice. In one week, it can be hard to go through the lectures, health and career practices, your job, your life, building your project, and still have room to rest. It’s hard to implement the learnings into your own project when everything moves so fast.
6. I would love to have access to all future updates from the course. If you paid a lot of money for a course and you have lifetime access, I think it would be amazing to receive updates too, as part of nurturing the alumni community.
Overall, I think it’s a great course that gives you information on many topics around health and wellness. If you like one topic specifically, then you can go deeper on your own. I made great friends, learned a lot, and it gave me information to start working on my project.

I really enjoyed the Hormonal Health course with IIN. The content was clear, practical, and easy to apply to daily life. It met my expectations and gave me valuable tools to better understand and support hormonal balance. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to deepen their knowledge in this area.
Gracias

IIN helped me fulfill my life purpose
IIN helped me fulfill my life purpose! I always felt that part of my mission was to help others through my own healthy lifestyle experience. Here, I learned a lot of theory and, most importantly, how to put it into practice in a much more efficient, productive, and professional way.
It also helped me organize my ideas and ground concepts that I couldn't quite connect before. Honestly, it’s a wonderful course for anyone who already has a calling to be a coach, or who simply wants to learn how to live a life more aligned with their soul and spirit. I highly recommend it!
Health Coaching Training Program - 2022 and Coaching Intensive Practicum Program - January 2026
I took my Coaching Training Program in 2022 and was exposed to a tremendous amount of information that unknown to me, until then, I wanted so very much to learn.
I genuinely enjoy making a positive difference in a person’s life and began to understand how becoming a Health & Wellness Coach is an extraordinary and empowering path for me to express my commitment to the betterment of humanity one person at a time.
This January of 2026 I successfully completed the Coaching Intensive Practicum Program which provided a live on-line class platform with an incredibly dedicated Coach and Teacher, Susan S.
Susan held the space with infinite care that resulted in the most magnificent class experience I have had to this day. All of us students, participated, held the space along with Susan for each other to win and gained true and timeless connections.
Personally, I was facing multiple and very challenging circumstances throughout the course and Susan always provided me the space to show up however I was that day and continuously encouraged me to keep going, and I did.
The gratitude I hold for Susan and my classmates has no end.
I am now in the process of completing all the requirements to apply to take the National Board Health & Wellness Coaching Exam in November/December to assure my clients I am committed to being the very best Health & Wellness Coach I can be.

Board-certified thanks to IIN!
I completed the Health Coach Board Certification training which has two parts... the initial Health Coach Training and the Coaching Intensive Practicum and I am now a proud board certified coach with the NBHWC!
The initial training is more of a broad exploration of health and nutrition topics along with weekly coaching and business lessons. I liked that each week had a little bit of each category, so that I was learning how to coach while also exploring different health topics and getting steps for setting up a business. I loved learning from the expert teachers like Will Cole and Dr. Amen. The pacing was manageable - there is a six-month option but I did it over the course of a year while working full time. I noticed a few people on here saying negative remarks about the breadth of topics and how the curriculum doesn't go deep on all of them but I think that's the point that is lost on some students of this program: being a health coach is not about knowing all the answers or being an expert in everything, it's about helping clients arrive at their own answers and helping them reach their own goals. This is something I didn't really understand when I signed up, but really came to appreciate. This course gives you a little bit of everything so you can then do the exercises and suggestions to apply the concepts to your own life and see what sticks and what doesn't - and that helps you be a better coach to others! There is a lot of conflicting information in the field of nutrition and health and some experts swear by plant based for example and others keto and both groups show promising outcomes even though they conflict with each other - and the program lays these and many other approaches out so you can think critically through them about what works for your "bio-individuality". I really liked that and the concept of primary food and I use these in my work with clients. These elements are what drew me to INN because it felt different, more authentic than some other trainings. And it was. I graduated with a more adaptive perspective on health, a more open mind, and more balance. I loved seeing that there are so many ways to support others through this training, like offering workshops, starting a podcast, and speaking gigs. I graduated aspiring to do all these things. Also worth mentioning, the coaches and community were quite supportive and I really enjoyed the monthly live webinars with the different presenters and topics. I was thrilled when one of my favorite health experts Erin Holt was the teacher on one!!
The Coaching Intensive was the second part of the training and it's much shorter, about 3 months, but it's where you really step into your own as a coach. A lot of my peers in the first half of the training had different goals like being healthier for their families or content creation for wellness but it was nice in this portion to be locked in with those who were continuing on to become professional coaches. There was tons of live support and practice and I can't say enough about the coaches and my instructor who was so supportive and encouraging. This is the course that qualifies you for the NBHWC exam and I would recommend it to anyone wanting to coach even if they don't care about board certification.
I'm proud to be a graduate of this school and I would recommend the health coach training to anyone who wants to get a good lay of the land about different health and nutrition topics and some business support (I had no business education going into this so all of the resources and webinars were so helpful!) and would say the coaching intensive is a non-negotiable for anyone who is truly looking to be a coach. My education has made me a better member of my community and a better family member and I am grateful for the friends and connections I made along the way. I loved the recent alumni webinar and am pleased that the support is ongoing to us after we graduate. THANK YOU IIN!!!

Disappointing ROI—Low Academic Standards and Empty Career Promises
I enrolled in the Institute for Integrative Nutrition expecting a robust, professional education to launch a business or career. Having spent over $3,000—which I am still paying off—I feel the program functions more as a brilliant social media marketing campaign than a legitimate educational institution.
1. Surface-Level Curriculum & Low Academic Standards
The material is highly generalized and unorganized. Most of the concepts could easily be gleaned from basic online research or health influencers on social media. Worse, the academic bar is incredibly low: you only need to pass two out of the four exams with a 75% (a C average) to graduate. Given how non-complex and introductory the information is, a 50% exam completion rate does not produce qualified professionals. It feels designed to push paying customers through to graduation rather than ensure competency.
2. Lack of Practical Business Training
IIN heavily markets its career preparation, but the execution is entirely "fluff." For example, the program includes an "Integration Lab," which I anticipated would require students to build and execute a functional business plan to graduate. Instead, this crucial career-building project turned out to be completely voluntary. I graduated without any concrete, real-world assets or the comprehensive business instruction promised. While the school offers several voluntary resources for students, such as PDF materials and Zoom calls with professionals, there was absolutely zero accountability for our skills and progress.
3. Poor Job Market Outlook
If you want to work for established healthcare clinics or corporations rather than working entirely for yourself, be warned: every employer requires board certification. IIN does not automatically qualify you for these competitive roles. To actually land a job, you will likely need to spend an additional $2,000+ on further approved education and exam fees. Even then, the entry-level market rate for these positions often hovers around $25/hour, making the initial $3,000 investment mathematically difficult to justify.
Bottom Line:
IIN excels at selling a dream on social media, but the actual educational value and career ROI are remarkably low. There are far more rigorous, respected, and structured programs available for this price point.
Lacking in many ways
Awful. Not tested, not challenged. This is akin to doing a course at your own pace. It lacks community, voice, and direction. I learned a lot about many things, which is part of the problem, it's not specific or directed...and most of my learning was done outside of IIN. I don't recommend this for the money.

My unique learning with IIN
The experiences in IIN is unique, because you take each molude when you have a perfect time to work on it. Sometimes, I only had two hours aday other day more. It saved from communal, from all that hustle time to go where ever you want to go. But instead you just go strat to your module and start studying.
I did surprised how IIN used food to heal you.I was obstacle about it how food could help you heal. Now that I dive deeper with my study: I understeand how food could be useful and used as remedy. I hope in the future people will have thesame opportunity to learn about food.

Lack of Certification Verification Support Created Employment Issues
I completed the Health Coach Training Program with the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). While the curriculum offers a broad introduction to holistic health concepts, my experience after graduation exposed serious gaps in professional support and credential verification.
When I needed to verify my certification for employment through a third-party background check provider (HireRight), I discovered that the documentation provided by IIN (certificate and transcript) was not sufficient for standard verification processes. This created a significant issue during a time-sensitive job onboarding process.
What made the situation more difficult was the lack of accessible support. The live chat function is limited to prospective students and sales inquiries only. As a graduate, the only support channel available is email, and responses were often delayed or unclear. There is no direct way to speak with a representative when urgent issues arise.
For a program that presents itself as a professional certification pathway, the absence of a clear, reliable verification system and timely post-graduation support is a major concern.
If you are considering IIN for career purposes, I strongly recommend confirming in advance whether employers in your field recognize and can verify this certification, especially through standard background check systems.

I completed the Health Coach Training…
I completed the Health Coach Training Program with the initial intention of gaining more direction on building a business within the wellness space.
The program is strongly focused on training individuals to become Health Coaches, which may be valuable for those specifically pursuing that path. However, this did not fully align with my personal goals or with how the program had been introduced to me initially.
I found that much of the content was quite general, and I was hoping for more practical and actionable guidance, particularly around building a wellness-related business or developing a clear career direction.
That said, the program did encourage self-reflection and helped me recognize the importance of focusing on my own health foundation first.
For those seeking more advanced or business-focused guidance, additional resources may be needed. Given the level of content provided, I personally felt that the program did not fully meet my expectations in terms of value.

Life Changing Experience
Graduating from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition has been a truly life-changing experience. What sets this program apart is its deep commitment to bio-individuality—the understanding that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to health. I loved how the curriculum masterfully balanced 'secondary food' with the vital concept of primary food, exploring how our relationships, career, and personal fulfillment are just as essential as what we put on our plates.
Beyond the philosophy, I feel fully equipped to step into my professional journey. The combination of expert visiting lecturers, a supportive community, and practical business training gave me the confidence to transition my passion for wellness into a tangible career. If you are looking for a comprehensive education that heals the whole person, I cannot recommend IIN enough. It is an investment in your own well-being that will empower you to change the lives of others.
As a newly certified coach, I feel confident and prepared to support my future clients with the tools I gained here.

I had an incredible experience studying at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition.
This program was not just about nutrition — it completely changed how I understand health, lifestyle, and balance. I learned how food, movement, mindset, and daily habits all work together to create true wellness.
As someone who is passionate about yoga and helping women transform their bodies and confidence, this program gave me the knowledge and structure to guide others in a deeper and more holistic way.
The content was flexible, practical, and easy to apply in real life. I especially loved the holistic approach and the focus on bio-individuality — understanding that every person is unique.
Today, I feel confident stepping into my role as a Health Coach and supporting others on their journey.
Highly recommend this program to anyone who wants to transform not only their career, but their life.
This journey helped me become not only a better coach, but a better version of myself.

Graduating from the Health Coaching…
Graduating from the Health Coaching Intensive Practicum at the Institute for Integrative Nutrition has been an incredibly meaningful and empowering experience for me. This program truly bridges the gap between learning about health coaching and actually stepping into the role of a confident, capable coach.
What I appreciated most was how practical and real the practicum was. It allowed me to apply everything I had learned throughout the program in real-life coaching sessions, while receiving guidance, structure, and support along the way. That experience was invaluable. It helped me refine my coaching skills, deepen my ability to listen, ask powerful questions, and truly support clients in creating sustainable changes in their lives.
IIN’s philosophy of bio-individuality and holistic health resonates deeply with me. Health is not just about food on the plate — it’s about mindset, relationships, movement, purpose, and balance in all areas of life. The practicum reinforced how powerful coaching can be when we help clients connect to their own inner wisdom and take small, meaningful steps forward.
This program also gave me the confidence to step fully into my purpose — helping others build healthier habits, stronger minds, and more balanced lives. The structure, mentorship, and supportive community made the journey both inspiring and transformative.
I am truly grateful for the knowledge, tools, and confidence I gained through IIN. The Health Coaching Intensive Practicum is an incredible next step for anyone who wants to not only learn about coaching, but actually become a skilled and impactful health coach.
