Worst hole belly clams
I order in the pass an everything was good. I wrote about my last 4pounds of clams which was terrible. An the reply I received was I hope your next order is better. There was nothing about what they could do to fix it the problem.

Mary, we reviewed your order and the photos you provided, but the items shown do not match the products from your Intershell order. Your order was for frozen mackerel and domestic shrimp, and it did not include whole belly clams.
We’d be happy to look into this further if there is another Intershell order you are referring to. Please provide the corresponding order number so we can review it accurately.

My order of large size frozen whole belly clams was delivered on time and very well packed. The most surprising thing was how fresh and briny they were after thawing. Seemed like they were harvested and shucked that day! I couldn't be happier!

The quality of the frozen food items I received was not acceptable and the company would not give me a refund or replace the order at no charge.

William, our records show the order remained in frozen storage until fulfilment, was packed with the appropriate refrigerants, and was delivered the morning after FedEx received it.
The concern was submitted nine days after delivery, so we were unable to verify the condition of the seafood at the time of arrival or determine when the reported change in condition occurred. For this reason, the order did not qualify for a refund or replacement under our claims process.
We appreciate you sharing your concerns, and your feedback regarding the packaging and refrigerants has been passed along to our team for review.
Quality
Quality. The seafood is fresh, and the highest quality that you can eat. That is the most important thing and they do it well.

I live on the west coast and have ordered from Intershell one other time without any issues. However, my last order was placed about a week before labor day for delivery on the the Friday before the long weekend. Little Neck Clams were main course for a holiday cookout. My order has been stuck in the "Preparing your order" status ever since. I sent emails and have left a couple voicemails over the last week with zero reply from Intershell. I have since cancelled the order. Customer service appears to be non-existent with Intershell Seafoods. Too bad because I did enjoy the first purchase I made.

Whole belly clams
For a year, I’ve been looking for a source for whole belly clams. Finally found Intershell in Gloucester. They emailed me when the large whole belly clams were back in stock.I ordered 6 pounds and they were delivered as promised. We had some on Friday 08/28/2026, and they were fabulous. Dipped in heavy cream and battered in corn FLOWER then fried in lard at 365 degrees for 2 minutes. Patti made tartar sauce, had hers with onion rings. I had steak fries and coleslaw. At the moment there is an issue with billing, that I am hopeful will be resolved shortly. Their responsiveness is impressive. Wish I could attach pictures to this post.

I’ve been buying seafood from Intershell for many years even before they moved to the new location.
Everything and I mean everything has been great. Fresh tuna, salmon, eel, tobiko/ikura for sushi or cooked, oysters, fresh and frozen soft shell clams to fry to perfection.
Lobster and crab meat for pies.
This is where your seafood store buys from and if you love seafood, you should too.

We've been buying from Intershell for a few years mostly for personal but sometimes for client entertaining purposes. We've bought a variety of their products in both large and small quantities and have always found everything to be of outstanding quality.
