After 3 days of trying to resolve a SSL…
After 3 days of trying to resolve a SSL issue via their chat "support" it is still not resolved. Each day they say the SSL has been applied to the domain and will take anywhere from 0 to 12 hours to activate. I don't even think it's a human on the other end of the chat. Responses are the same each day ... same wording etc. I've been working on websites for 12 years, and this is the ABSOLUTE WORST service i've EVER experienced.
ipower support is a total failure
ipower support is a total failure. Very slow, unresponsive, they keep promising fast action while nothing in fact is being done. For 5 days I have been hearing the same promises that the support team are working on upgrading my VPS to Centos7. I have contacted their support every single day, and nothing has been done. Total and absolute failure. You will lose time, effort and money, and your business will be negatively affected. Stay away from this company.
The absolute worst customer service
The absolute worst customer service on the planet can be found at iPower. Chatting is the only way they support their clients. And their support specialists are lacking in expertise, professionalism and overall knowledge of anything related to their services.
After nearly three hours of trying to reset a password, we are still being told the same exact things- make sure our email is whitelisted, check the spam folder and make sure you refresh your screen. Three hours to change a password? Can you imaging how long you would be expected to wait to activate 2FA?
I have been with iPower since 2001 and…
I have been with iPower since 2001 and last week they did not validate my SSL certificate even though I paid 2 years in advance. Used to be you could call and speak to somebody. Now it's just by Chat. They SUCK!!!! DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. I'm changing to GoDaddy. At least you can get a descent response from them. SHAME ON YOU iPOWER. I'm a very dis satisfied customer after 22 years.
iPower company is in decline.
I have been a reseller in iPower since 2007, today I decided to leave this company after many of their problems affected my clients’ websites, there is no reliable technical support, I transferred my accounts and domains to a new, more experienced and professional hosting service provider.
I DO NOT recommend dealing with them at all.
Be Smart
Having started with “IpowerWeb“ 20 years ago, a company that charged very reasonable prices for domain and web services, I grew complacent. That is until I found a nearly $800 charge recently for the ownership of two domains and one actual website. Ipower no longer provides phone support… and a reasonable person can readily conclude why… which means one has to actually open a chat. Properly, for security purposes, one must verify their identity. They ask for the first 2 and last 4 digits of the credit card I used with them. Once provided, they insisted that was incorrect, and I had only two more opportunities to give them the correct answer. Except that WAS the correct answer. I had the card and the recent credit card statement SHOWING their nearly $800 charge in my hand. Hours later, when I was able to log onto the site directly (having personally relocated my PW), they had an expired credit card on file that ended in 4 completely different numbers than my current card and the one they’ve been charging. How could they charge my new card without the correct number? Fascinating! They have an “updater“ application that identifies a person’s new credit card – even if it has different numbers—and even if the customer has not provided a new card to them! This is as opposed to informing a customer at billing time that the current card on file is no longer valid. So Ipower surreptitiously gains access to a customer’s card not previously on file, and without the customer’s, knowledge, charges their now indefensible fees never discussed with the client prior to charging in terms of an explanation, and yet they do not update the card in their system! So when it comes time to verify one’s identity with the last four digits of the card on file, the card on file remains the old expired one and not the new one!! It turns out the new charge of nearly $800 was for three years of hosting; a length of time I was never approached about, nor offered, nor approved of. When I “chatted“ with “Shahaz,“ I explained I did not want three years of hosting and could not afford $800 at this time. I was told the amount for one year was approximately $240, but if I chose to only renew my account for one year, the remaining 500+ dollars would be used as “a credit“ moving forward. Except I explained, I only needed the website for one more year and there would be no moving forward. I was promised this would be kicked upstairs after having been a loyal customer for two decades, and I would receive an email reply within four hours. It has been approximately a week and not surprisingly, Ipower has only reached out one time, and that was to inform me that they charged me YET AGAIN for some other element of service that was never described to or approved of by me! As so many others have noted, this company’s customer service is
apalling, and by all appearances based on my recent communications with them, Ipower cares about money rather than service, or what loyal customers of 20 years are needing and seeking in a web host. If you are smart enough to have researched Ipower via trustpilot, I hope you are smart enough to read this honest and straightforward review as well as other recent ones to aid in choosing an effective and responsive web hosting company. In my experience, IpowerWeb is no longer either of those two things. And just as so many others before me have noted, I am left with no choice but to contact my credit card company to dispute these charges and try to recover at minimum two of the extra years I never authorized or approved of prior to Ipower charging me for them, let alone on a credit card I never provided them, and they never asked for. I highly recommend you stay away from IpowerWeb. There are too many qualitative companies out there doing with this one refuses to do… namely, the right thing.
15+ Years with this company, TRUST ME
Take it from someone who has probably been with this company THE LONGEST in this review board. One of my main reasons for not leaving is the fact I just simply have too many domains, emails and sites here. But the hassle, headache and NIGHTMARE has reached its end. And the nail in the coffin was them TWICE suspending my account while trying to simply purchase a new domain, rendering EVERY, SINGLE, ONE, OF, MY, E-MAILS, AND WEBSITES .... ** GONE **
A benefit they once had was actual phone customer service 24/7, the only thing I'd give them credit for, however this is now GONE.
While you cling for deal life towards wondering what will happen next with your servers, you will wait on a chat box that will take 3-5x the promised time.
AND GUESS WHAT, you're not alone in the abysmal hell that is iPower, in fact you'll have many friends, thus making your wait times ASTRONOMICAL.
I'd highly doubt this place is getting new business and probably surviving entirely off its aging existing clientele that are too weary, tired, or incapable of moving.
But in the shear chance someone new even CONSIDERS this place, DO NOT!
MASSIVE price gouging
MASSIVE price gouging. The iPower web hosting has escalated to an abysmal $900/year for basic hosting, domain, and web software. There is no justification for a service like this that has zero customer support.
There is NO phone support anymore
There is NO phone support anymore. My website can't be accessed by customers and I have toi use CHAT and you can't even tell if anyone is there.
Horrible chat service
Horrible chat service. Obviously, I Power sold out to an overseas company. You can only chat no phone calls. After chatting 6 times and having my hosting account deleted, as I never saw their request for payment in my junk mail, I paid for new hosting. They ask me 3 times to send ownership proof which I did. They insisted on using my email which is now deleted with the old account. They ask me several times if I paid for a new hosting account and after sending proof from Paypal. They requesting some billing agreement from them. I finally gave up and went directly to Paypal to hopefully stop any recurring payments and get a refund. Thank goodness my domain is not with them.
terrible cust. service on billing
power refunded me a charge but sent it to the wrong account, one that expired 5 years ago so i did not receive it. they say there is nothing i can do. no one to talk to. credit card says they cannot help either so opening a dispute. hours on chat to ipower. no phone support, and no billing accounting. cannot see a refund.
They will not let me transfer my domain DO NOT USE THEM!
They will not let me transfer my domain out of their platform. They are holding it and will not send the Auth-code to transfer it. DO NOT use this company to purchase a domain. They are scammers!!!
I would give a zero if I could
I would give a zero if I could. They host my website and company email. One of the co emails was hacked and started spamming. We didn't do it and they have provided no help, just shut down all of our email accounts. The help is HORRIBLE. No phone support just slow, unresponsive chats. It's been 4 days and multiple hours and we still can't send emails from any of our addresses.
IPOWER Chat Support Wastes a Lot of Time
IPOWER removed the ability to open tickets or call them, so now you can only chat. While the support staff has improved over the years, the amount of time wasted on chat while they research the issue is pure torture. Always a minimum of an hour. A more customer-centric way would be to open a ticket and have the support rep spend the time him/herself researching the problem, and get back to the customer when it's resolved. No need to waste my time while you're scrolling through your manual.
1st representative was frustrating and…
1st representative was frustrating and said I would be contacted in 24 hours.
2d representative I spoke to disconnected me.
The 3d representative took care of my problem quickly
Stay away if you value your sanity
Stay away if you value your sanity. If I could rate zero I would. Purchased an email hosting account that was rubbish. Tried to cancel 7 times during their fake 30 day money back guarantee. Used their chat service which must rank as the worst you could imagine. Inexperienced and rude agents, deliberately cutting you off. Do not do what they say and try anything for you not to cancel. Ended up having to open a dispute with my credit card.
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY
DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY. They will attract you with low pricing, but once you are customer, they treat you horribly and will grab money from your account. You have to argue with customer service to get your money back, and they are overseas. I used their website builder program which has a malicious code on the 404 error page. I deleted it and rebuilt my own, but their system kicks out externally built files and reinserts their own. Now my site is banned from Google and Facebook because of the malicious code that iPower refuses to correct, stating there is no problem. I hired an outside firm SITELOCK who went through my site and identified the malicious code problem. You cannot purchase an SSL certificate from anyone except COMODO through iPower, and they gouge you with $39 for the first year. THEN they jack the price up to $59/year afterwards. NO WHERE DOES IT STATE THAT PRICE INCREASE. RUN FROM THIS COMPANY. THEY ARE HORRIBLE.
works great
I own many and this is first for this brand so far so good I would recommend to any grower small or large.
