It’s a game changer
I’d like to address a few comments in here. Everyone’s experience with anything medical will obviously vary but my experience with this device has been good. Firstly, cost. Very expensive but a cheap price to pay to get off Omeprazole and to be able to lie on my right hand side in bed without discomfort in my throat. I was told that the device itself is cheap, the research and development is not so really you’re paying for results rather than the device itself. Secondly, thirty seconds three times a day is nothing - it’s less time than a kettle takes to boil. It’s become part of my life and it’s simple and easy. For me it’s worked well - I am off Omeprazole and even the discomfort from my Schatzi rings has gone. You tend to forget when things improve WHY they’ve improved so I do stop using it for periods at a time and it’s only when my symptoms re-emerge that I have to remind myself that this little bit of blue plastic actually does work and for thirty seconds three times a day the end result is a good one. I’m grateful for it. It’s no placebo effect - I’m not that impressionable - it has helped me greatly.

De första 6 månaderna märkte jag ingen skillnad, min halsbränna var minst lika förfärlig som innan. Trotts att jag följde instruktionerna. Jag var bredd att ge upp men som tur var gjorde jag inte det och efter 6 månaders användning började min halsbränna avta för att ganska snabbt försvinna nästan helt. Så mitt råd är GE INTE UPP. Efter ca 9 månader ansåg jag mig färdigbehandlad och slutade använda IQoro, det skulle jag inte gjort för halsbrännan kom tillbaka. Jag började använda IQoro igen och halsbrännan försvann. Nu använder jag den en gång om dagen och halsbrännan är nästan borta.

Es gibt verschiedene Formen von Reflux. Nicht immer hängt Schnarchen und Apnoe damit zusammen. Und deshalb gibt es auch kein Allheilmittel. Das sollte jedem klar sein.
Beim so genannten stillen Reflux kann Iquoro unter Umständen nützlich sein. Nicht aber beim sekundären oder Reflux, der komplett andere Ursachen und Symptome hat. Von daher muss jeder selbst ausprobieren, ob es ihm hilft. Ich habe lediglich bei meinen Halssymptomen eine kleine Besserung verspürt. Bei meinem sauren Reflux und Gallereflux habe ich null Änderung verspürt. Es wird schon seinen Grund haben, warum die Krankenkasse hier nichts zahlt oder investiert in dieser Richtung. Ist einfach zu speziell.

Wir stimmen mit Ihnen überein, dass es viele verschiedene Formen von Reflux gibt. Wenn Reflux auftritt, liegt es daran, dass der untere Speiseröhrenschließmuskel nicht richtig schließt, und das ist etwas, bei dem IQoro helfen kann, also ist stiller Reflux nicht das Einzige, was IQoro behandelt.
Die durchschnittliche Zeit für das Training beträgt etwa 6 Monate, um eine Verbesserung der Symptome zu spüren.
IQoro ist in Deutschland noch nicht verschreibungspflichtig, aber wir hoffen, dass es rechtzeitig verfügbar sein wird, so wie es in Großbritannien seit dem 1. Mai 2022 der Fall ist.

The company marketing and support are excellent to the extent that when it does not work you feel you must be doing something wrong. I really wanted this to work. I have pretty much all the symptoms they list for acid reflux and am on ppi medication. But after 10 months I am struggling to identify any improvement. Even now I am reluctant to give it up as there are no other options but this was a costly experience and I am feeling more than a little let down.

I am very pleased with IQoro. I will share below the message I sent to the company following my experience with the product.
“Hello, I just wanted to tell you that I have experienced great improvement in the symptoms of my hiatal hernia. Before using IQoro, I had very bad heartburn every day at all different times, including being woken in the early morning with heartburn. I had to take Lanzoprazole, but the side effects caused me to switch to Axid, but again, side effects meant I had to look to an alternative, and so I began to FAITHFULLY use the IQoro which I had bought last year, but I didn't give it a proper chance at the time. Now I am off those medications and I use IQoro every day, along with Peptac liquid, which works really well for me. So thanks for your product. I think, and you know, that the main barrier to effectiveness of your product (for those for whom it can deliver improvement) is dedication and consistency in using it, and not leaving it on the shelf. I also have less pain and discomfort breathing, whereas before I had quite a lot of pain from the hernia.”
I would like to add that I was sceptical before purchasing it, and since the product is expensive I was concerned about effectiveness, but the results guarantee made me take the plunge and I’m very glad I did. The most important thing is that you actually use the product faithfully and you will see results, that is if you are one of the 97% cohort who will benefit from IQoro. Now, I can see that the product is worth the money and I highly recommend this product. It’s certainly worth trying out because the alternative is not very attractive: lifetime medication with the potential for serious side-effects.

Denna lilla enkla pryl som jag beställde från IQ-oro hjälper verkligen. Jag har använt den dagligen i ca ett år nu. Jag har slutat att medicinera sedan länge. It broke after 9 months' use; repair/replacement was refused
The device developed a crack at one corner of the pull handle after 9 months of use. Some months prior to that the case hinge had already broken. I am left handed and it occurred on the right side of the pull handle, which suggests a tension failure (I'm a materials engineer). Iqoro demanded 50% of the original cost to replace it. That is despite a) its unacceptably short life and b) there is at least one other report here of the same problem. There is either a mechanical weakness or the material strength is deficient. Iqoro must by now know this.
Iqoro have proved to be unreasonable; the manufacture cost of the item must be 1/50th of the retail price, so they have every reason to assess the defect and replace without question. However in seeking a further payment, they even suggested they may not be able to trust my honesty, and effectively asked ME to prove that the unit is defective. That leaves a sour taste in the mouth.
One other thing: they suggested I obtain a replacement by asking the UK National Health Service. It is true that the item is on the NHS "NICE" approved list, but it is not my job to help Iqoro market its product with the NHS. Indeed, considering it is defective and customer service poor, I intend to inform NICE of my experience.
Does it work? Very hard to tell what improvement, if any. My consultant's advice was : lose weight, eat less at time and more slowly, do no eat within 6 hours of sleep. I have done all of that and have achieved an improvement but I can only say via that package of measures.
My other option has been to repair the device myself with strip aluminum and pop rivets, which I have now done. Sad to say that this lash-up has been necessary.
In sum, the after-sales service from Iqoro is a killer. It's an expensive if simple plastic item and should be durable. It is not and the company is simply greedy. Avoid.
(BTW - they impertinently offered to replace the broken case free of charge!)

As of today, it remains the only material available that meets our strict requirements for flexibility and strength. In order to activate the 148 muscles involved in the swallowing process, the material needs to strike a careful balance—it must neither be too soft nor too hard, which is why IQoro is manufactured in the particular material. Regarding the crack and the warranty:
You purchased your IQoro on May 31, 2023. After you contacted us in April 2024, we offered a 50% discount on the replacement, as the warranty period had expired. This gesture was meant to be a friendly solution, even though the issue was outside of the warranty period.

Jag trodde egentligen inte att det skulle fungera men eftersom läkaren talat om för mig att jag troligtvis skulle få äta Omeprazol resten av mitt liv var jag beredd på att prova det mesta. Efter att använt IQoro 2 gånger om dagen i 6 månader hade klumpen i halsen och de sura uppstötningarna försvunnit. Jag tvivlade dock fortfarande och tänkte att det förmodlingen berodde på att jag fortfarande åt Omeprazol så jag började slarva lite med IQoro... och båda symptomen kom tillbaka. Sedan en tid tillbaka använder jag återigen IQoro 2 gånger om dagen och tar bara Omeprazol vid behov. Jag är fortfarande symptomfri och har nu slutat tvivla. IQoro fungerar.

Doing a gastroscopy I'm very curious how one can see if the muscle of the diaphragm in the hiatal channel has got stronger or not? It would not be possible to make the judgement based on only that parameter and looking at a muscle.

I wish that I had never heard of iqoro!
Further to my two previous reviews and for the record, Myoroface, since giving up on your device I have now resumed taking Lansoprazole but have found that, whereas previously it was all I needed to be pain-free, that is not now the case. After three weeks of taking it, I have had to resort to medicating with Omeprazole instead and on a higher dosage which also does not eradicate my pain totally.
While I was training with the iqoro I made sure that it was the only action I was taking in connection to my HH so as to prevent an overload with other methods running concurrently and to subsequently not know what had and what had not worked.
The fact that the medication is no longer working as it did can only be down to only one root cause – the iqoro!
Myoroface, you have a lot to answer for as not only did your device not cure my condition and in fact worsened it, but now I have to face the fact that it has caused internal damage that is stopping the PPI from working as it used to.
I wish that I had never heard of you or read your false claims about being it a miracle cure for HH when all it is is a money making scam by a company cashing in on people’s misery.
I did not think that things could get any worse but now I am faced with pain and suffering potentially for the rest of my life, so thanks a lot for making a bad situation a whole lot worse.
In this day and age, language barriers are no excuse for your claims that they are the cause of your “misunderstandings”. You are profiting enough from your customers to be able to afford all that it would take for you to navigate this and other matters that you are negligent in and appear to have no interest in.
There clearly needs to be an independent investigation into your company and its corrupt business practices as I am sure all of your customers who have given it a negative review would agree with me on.

I’m not aware of the communication you’ve had with us earlier. But it sounds like you quit medication quickly when you started using IQoro, is that right? To make sure you only had one treatment going on at once as you describe it?
As said, I don't know the details in your case, but it very much sounds like a rebound effect that you’ve suffered due to quitting PPI medication containing for example Lansoprazole or Omeprazol too quickly. Rebound effect is also called rebound heartburn. Here is a quote from the registered pharmacist and nutritional therapist Debbie Grayson from the UK explaining the rebound effect/rebound heartburn when trying to quit PPIs and what is happening in the body:
“The problem there is that when we take the PPI, the body doesn't know that we've permanently prevented that cell from producing hydrochloric acid. So what it tries to do is it tries to increase the messengers to send the signal to go: Come on lads, let's make some more hydrochloric acid. Because you need it.
So over time, these chemical messengers are just going up and up and up. And once we take the PPI away and the body is then able to function as it should, what we then get is a rush of all these chemical messengers producing way more stomach acid than we ever did before. And sometimes that can be five times as much. And unfortunately, the message that that sends to the patient is: oh my God, look how bad I am when I take this medication away. And that sends them the signal that I must really need this medication. So although I've tried to come off it, I really need to stay on it.”
This is why it is so important to first strengthen the muscles of the diaphragm making sure the stomach is placed underneath the diaphragm to be able to seal tight and keep the stomach acid where it belongs. And then when you start feeling better to consult your doctor to see if it’s appropriate for you to slowly reduce your PPIs. You may suffer rebound effects after only three days of use of PPIs and may last for as long as 6 months. But it is possible to slowly come off PPIs.

I bought their plastic piece that you put in your mouth for 150 euro. After about a year, it broke. For that price, you would expect them to provide a new one or even offer compensation since the crack in the plastic cut against my lips and I started bleeding. Instead, I was told that 'The material is not brittle but has behaved as expected,' according to customer service. I could buy a new one with a 20 percent discount. No thanks. The question is whether it helped at all.
The material is brittle. They could have made this in harder plastic or steel, which they could have afforded. The manufacturing cost can't be more than one euro.
If you haven't heard of "planned obsolescence" - this is it.

So sorry to hear that you heart yourself on the product! Did you send us the documentation of that? As I’m not aware of which errand this concerns it’s difficult to answer you here in a good way.
But in general IQoro is a hygiene product and is CE labelled for a service life of one year under normal use. Differences in care and use can cause IQoro to wear out faster.
We recommend that you replace your IQoro annually. We also inform you in the manual to check that your IQoro is not damaged before each training session. So in case of getting worn out, you can avoid this to happen. Most of our products hold for much longer than a year, but to be safe, it is important to replace it annually as that is what it is CE-marked for.
Regarding the material
IQoro is developed and manufactured in Sweden under strict quality, hygiene and environmental requirements. Through careful examination of different materials, this is the only suitable for IQoro, its use and effect. Not all types of material is approved for such a medtech product class 1, following the prescribed control procedure according to the Medical Devices Regulation (EU) 2017/745 (MDR).
IQoro complies with essential health, safety, functional and environmental requirements. And due to the specific material of use IQoro contains no allergenic substances and is safe to use.
We have high demands on the quality of IQoro. That's why we offer a manufacturing warranty of 7 months. But I understand that in your case it has been over a year since you purchased yours. Therefore, it was not relevant in this case.

Well done iqoro. Congratulations on your award for medical innovation, you fully deserve it. I purchased your product after my own research. My local local GP was ignorant of the existence of the product. My local health authority would not put IQoro on their list even though NICE recommended it's use. The device together with other commonsense changes to diet and bed angle have greatly reduced symptoms regarding hiatus hernia and acid reflux. I refused to take PPI 's after 1 month as they wrecked my gut biome and digestion. IQoro for me has been a game changer. Hopefully after your well deserved award IQoro will become a standard prescription.

Fantastic devise!
I have been using the iQoro for around 5 months and it has totally resolved my reflux and swallowing issues arising from a small hiatal hernia and stricture. I am so impressed with this simple and effective solution and relieved not to have to use PPIs. I suspect that getting the technique right when using the device is pivotal to its effectiveness.

I have being using IQoro for around seven and a half months
I have being using IQoro for around seven and a half months having been diagnosed with a 2 cm hiatus hernia.
I had been prescribed Omeprazole but had a rare side effect which meant I could no longer take it so needed an alternative to PPIs. I have suffered from secondary side effects using IQoro initially increased acid reflux and then laterly being unable to burp after eating which was really uncomfortable. This went on for many weeks and at 6 months I was still getting some discomfort. I did feel like giving up at times as it was not a side effect I had had previously. However after starting to relax my stomach rather than tense up with the uncomfortable sensation I noticed that over the past few weeks and continued use of IQoro this has and continues to improve and I am optimistic that in time it will no longer occur. I do take the occasional gaviscon at night but this is more and more infrequent. I would say overall the device is definitely working, I was probably far too focussed on the 6 month mark instead of the steady progress. My recommendation would be don’t give up you will get there in the end, and don’t focus on the six month mark

Like you many experience side effects from PPI medication and are looking for alternatives.
Yes, in the beginning your symptoms might actually feel worse as a result of you starting to activate the inner muscles such as the throat area, the esophagus and the diaphragm itself but once the muscles gets stronger the symptoms will subside.
We are very glad that you did not give up but continued and that is what now have made the difference in your well-being.
Your recommendation is absolutely correct, one should never give up but persevere and never hesitate to contact our customer support if one needs support!

Lång historia men fungerar verkligen!
Efter en mycket stressig vardag och var nära väggen så började konstiga symtomer dyka upp. som tex konstant halsbränna bland annat.
Detta gjorde att jag besökte vårdcentralen där jag fick råd att äta annorlunda och fick medicin utskriven….efter en månadstid av medicin ätandet hade halsbrännan inte försvunnit och jag började med receptfria läkemedel i mängder. 6 månader senare med mycket lugn och andra förändring gav halsbrännan inte upp! Problem med sömn och annat då jag vaknade under natten med smärta i halsen, trots flertal kuddar under huvudet!
Började söka på nätet och hittade IQoro. Tänkte 1500kr för en plastbit…. Ja dom tjänar nog pengar…. Men eftersom vårdcentralen bara stötte bort mig och hoppet nästan var ute tänkte jag, vi testar.
Tack gode gud för att ni finns!!! Efter en veckas tid börjar jag känna skillnad och allt blir bara bättre och bättre vecka ut och vecka in!!!!
Älskar! Kan sova, äta och leva ett normalt liv utan massa mediciner som man har läst att det kan skapa ohyggliga biverkningar inlängden!

Precis som du skriver är det många liksom du som upplever att de inte får den hjälp de behöver och att man många gånger får höra att läkemedel är det enda alternativet.
Ja, IQoro är inte billig. Vårt mål är att man skall kunna få sin IQoro på recept istället för läkemedel så tills dess kommer IQoro med en resultatgaranti: Tränar man enligt anvisningar och inte får resultat så får man kontakta oss för retur av sin IQoro och sedan återbetalning.
Grattis till dina snabba resultat! Långt snabbare än genomsnittet men kom ihåg att fortsätta träna enligt rekommendation i minst 6 månader innan du påbörjar underhållsträning.

I am a recent user of the IQoro.
I am a recent user of the IQoro.
I have been diagnosed with a HH (2017) and every now and again (c3 year interval) I suffer with reflux symptoms.
Each time the GP prescribes PPI which come with a host of side effects and the dreaded acid hypersecretion which comes with trying to get off them - even though the GPs assure you will be ok!
I want to get this under control and I am totally open to the claims of IQoro.
However I would like to see references to any independent published papers to that I can read for myself. Please can Iqoro list them?
I have read the NICE paper but the trials cited there were authored by the inventor of the device and so cannot be considered independent.
I look forward to hearing from Iqoro soon.

We agree, it's better to treat the root cause rather than just medicate for the symptoms and also IQoro doesn't add anything to your body like PPI medication does.
If you go to IQoro.com and then click on the tab saying "About IQoro" and then choose the section saying "Scientific Articles" you can read each of the published studies on IQoro.
