Really easy to order and everything arrived on time. The quality is solid and exactly what I expected. Good range to choose from as well. Would definitely use them again.

Avoid - Complicated Returns and Delayed Refunds.

Faulty product which had to be returned.
I purchased a set of door knobs, several of which turned out to be faulty.
As my carpenter was scheduled to fit new doors in a single day along with the new door knobs, I had no choice but to return the defective items immediately so the work could be completed on time. This meant me obtaining new knobs in my local store of Howdens.
The return process and refund, however, were extremely frustrating. The company instructed me to ensure the items were packaged properly or I would not receive a refund, which is understandable.
However, they also warned that if the knobs were found not to be faulty, they would apply a 20% restocking fee and charge me for return postage.
The company received and signed for the returned items on 17th April. After following up by email, I was told the refund would be processed within 7–10 days. When no refund was issued, I had to call them on 5th May to chase it up.
During the call, they initially had no record of the faulty items or the return and asked me to provide proof of delivery from Royal Mail, which I had to send again so they could locate the return.
Prior to that, they had also required video evidence of the faults, making the process even more time-consuming.
Overall, this was a very difficult company to deal with, and based on my experience, I would not recommend them.
*Thank you for your reply to my review. Upon inspection it should read that some of the door knobs we’re faulty and hence why my carpenter would not fit them because the spring didn’t work and if fitted to the door, we wouldn’t have been able to use.

As stated in our returns policy, all returned items are inspected upon receipt. If items are found not to be faulty, a 20% restocking fee and return postage charges may apply. We also request evidence of faults where possible to help us process claims as quickly and fairly as possible.

Following inspection, the returned items were found to be in working condition. However, as a gesture of goodwill, we did not apply any restocking fee or return postage charges.

We can also confirm that your refund was processed 2–3 days ago.

We appreciate your patience and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

Order from elsewhere!

Ordered and paid for goods on 04/04/2026.
No email confirmation.
Several phone calls later and told item will be with you tomorrow, never arrived, then another adviser gave me a fake Royal Mail tracking number.
Phones are answered by Euro Art (their other dodgy company) but very often calls go unanswered or just keep you waiting for ages but telling you that you are number one in the queue.
Terrible company, I’m not even sure they exist…
I did a chargeback with my bank and got my money back.
Don’t listen to their replies to other poor reviews, they describe exactly how they treat customers.

Really good website easy to use with…

Really good website easy to use with loads of choice for stock however I won’t be using them again as waiting over 4 weeks for a mortise locks (2 of ) then 4 weeks later after chasing them to receive just one still waiting on the other one is a joke. Been chaseing them up for weeks keep saying it’s being dispatched the following week but said this last week!!! I cannot run a business waiting for products customer service are not bothered one bit incredibly unprofessional which is a real shame as the website good with quality products!

At least I got my money back

Ordered a keyless egress mortice lock and two weeks later had my money refunded being told the OEM no longer make that model. I checked and they do also it's still for sale on their website. I got my money back without asking but it was all a big waste of my time and will waste other people's time in the future as well.

Absolutely appalling communication and customer service

I would strongly advise avoiding Ironmongery Solutions. My experience has been nothing short of frustrating. After contacting them about returning an item, I followed all the proper steps and sent it back promptly. Then… nothing. Weeks went by with no acknowledgment, no update, and not a single reply to my emails.

Trying to get any kind of response from them was like shouting into a void — total radio silence. Eventually, I had no choice but to go through PayPal to get my money back, which I finally did (thankfully, thanks to PayPal, not Ironmongery Solutions).

If a company can’t manage the basic courtesy of replying to customers or processing refunds in a reasonable time, it really says a lot about how they operate. I won’t be buying from them again, and I’d suggest others save themselves the hassle and shop elsewhere.

What a useless company

What a useless company. They take orders when they do not have stock. Their customer service is awful. Waited a whole week for an order, only to be told to wait for another two weeks. Keep well away.

Awful experience.

Ordered a lock set and was told 5 days delivery. A week went by and heard nothing. Emailed for a follow up and told that the item was out of stock but was restocked and would be with me 48 hours later. And 5 days and heard nothing. My emails were ignored a few times and then eventually had a response saying the item was out of stock and would be another 2 weeks at which point I asked for a refund which I am still waiting for. Would not recommend this site to anyone.

Warning! An awful and untrustworthy company. Taken order for ‘out of stock’ product and not processing refund weeks later!

- Order placed 13 July 2025
- Call received a few days later to advise order was in fact not in stock; following which I requested a refund as the stock would not be back until October
- 2 weeks later followed up with a call to customer service as refund was never issued and representative confirmed that it was never actioned
- Days following above call I am still waiting for refund (despite assured it would be in my account within 4 hours) and a call back which I never received

Worst experience

I needed a snib lock for my bathroom door and was super happy when I found just the right one! Only to be disappointed to receive a completely different lock. I decide to return it and followed the procedure but it's been half a year and I still haven't heard back or received a refund.
