Thanks for your kind words and continued monthly support - it means a great deal to us. All donations on islamicaid.com are processed through fully automated, secure systems with no human involvement. Any erroneous charge would be a technical or network-level error, which we would resolve immediately.

Last year I sent them over £400 and somehow the payment was automated to pay the same amount the next month. I contacted them numerous times and they did not reply. I was left overdrawn the following month but managed to cancel any subsequent payments. Received plenty of texts for donations again. Would never touch with a barge poll.

We're very sorry to hear about your experience and sincerely regret any distress this caused.

Please allow us to clarify that when donations are made through our website, they are processed securely via independent payment gateways such as Stripe or PayPal. These systems are fully automated and there is no human interaction involved during the donation process. The only way a recurring donation can be set up is if the "monthly" option is selected.

That said, we fully understand that mistakes can happen and we should have responded to your concerns more promptly. We deeply apologise if you did not receive a reply when you reached out—that is not the standard of care we aim to uphold. We have also now taken further steps to ensure that donor contact preferences are fully respected and that no one receives unwanted messages.

We’d be grateful if you could email us at support@islamicaid.com with your details so we can review your case fully, ensure everything is resolved to your satisfaction, and take this as an opportunity to improve.

Thank you for your previous support—it truly does help change lives.

We’re very sorry to hear about this distressing experience.

Please be assured that Islamic Aid is a UK-registered charitable organisation that receives over £6 million in annual donations and has been serving communities for over 25 years. We have absolutely no reason or interest to misuse anyone’s card details—let alone go to such lengths to target a cardholder in Australia.

Unfortunately, like many other charities, our donation platform can sometimes be targeted by fraudsters who test stolen cards by attempting small transactions on reputable websites. This is an issue faced widely across the charity sector. We do not benefit from or initiate these actions in any way.

Our policy in such situations is clear: if a cardholder contacts us and informs us that a donation was unauthorised, we issue an immediate refund and report the activity to our payment provider. However, if we are not informed, we have no way of knowing the transaction was fraudulent.

We encourage you to reach out to us at mail@islamicaid.com so we can investigate the transaction and arrange a refund if it hasn’t already been processed through your bank.

Again, we’re truly sorry that this happened and hope your bank has been able to support you fully.

Don't trust

I sent a cheque to Islamic Aid for £100 and they put another zero to make £1000. I get a text message every day asking me to donate. I tried to reply 64067 to STOP but I got heavily charge in the bill. I tried to call 0300 111 3001 but still the text message. Please don't trust this donation.

We’re very sorry to hear about your experience and thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Firstly, we take any concerns about donation handling very seriously. We have strict procedures in place when processing cheques, and adding an extra digit would not be possible without a manual amendment visible on the cheque itself. If you believe there was a mistake, please contact us directly so we can fully investigate and issue a refund if appropriate.

Secondly, regarding the text messages—Islamic Aid only sends texts to individuals who have opted in via donations, campaigns, or other interactions. You can opt out at any time by texting STOP to 64067. We understand that some mobile providers charge for this shortcode, and we sincerely apologise if you incurred unexpected charges.

To resolve both issues quickly, please email us at mail@islamicaid.com or call our team on 0300 111 3000 (please note the correct number). We are here to help and want to make things right.

We value your support and trust, and we’re committed to doing better.

Thank you for raising your concern.

We’d like to clarify that the change in our charity registration number is due to a change in legal structure—not a change in organisation. Islamic Aid was originally registered as a charitable trust, but as the organisation has grown significantly, our professional advisors recommended we transition to a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

This transformation was carried out with the full approval of the Charity Commission, and was done to enhance accountability, governance, and legal protection. A CIO structure allows a charity to enter contracts, employ staff, and hold assets in its own name—offering a more modern and robust legal framework for operations and long-term sustainability.

As this is the first year of the new legal entity, financial accounts have not yet appeared on the Charity Commission website. This is standard for all newly registered CIOs and will be updated in line with statutory reporting deadlines.

Please rest assured that Islamic Aid continues to operate under full UK charity regulations, with a commitment to transparency and ethical governance. If you would like more details about this transition or access to our past financial reports, we’d be happy to provide them—just email us at mail@islamicaid.com.

Thank you again for your concern and for holding charities to high standards. We welcome transparency and accountability in everything we do.

We’re truly sorry to hear about your continued frustration and thank you for raising this.

Firstly, we sincerely apologise that you received another SMS after previously requesting to opt out. That should not have happened. Please be assured we take GDPR and all data protection regulations extremely seriously, and our intention is never to cause annoyance or distress.

To ensure donor security and prevent unauthorised access, our team may ask for verification during a call—especially when processing opt-out requests. However, we appreciate this should be done with care and sensitivity, and we regret if it felt excessive in your case.

Our SMS opt-out system is designed to work when replying STOP to 64067, but we recognise that in some cases, especially with certain mobile providers, this may not function as intended. We’re actively reviewing this to ensure a more seamless experience going forward.

To ensure you're fully removed from all communications, please email us at mail@islamicaid.com with your number and a request for permanent opt-out. We will action this immediately and confirm once it’s done.

Once again, we deeply apologise and appreciate your feedback—it helps us improve.

Never ending spam regardless of agreements

They keep sending my mail even after being specifically being assured they wouldn't. Been happening for years. Further contact has proved useless. Very bad experience, please donate somewhere else where they'll respect your wishes.
