Not professional cleaners - will not use
Disappointing after-builders clean – not what I expected from a professional service
I booked JA Clean for an after-builders clean ahead of moving into a newly renovated home. Unfortunately, the service fell far short of expectations.
The team that arrived, while very polite and friendly, were clearly inexperienced and admitted they had only recently started with the company. I was surprised that a professional cleaning service would send a team without sufficient training or the right equipment for this type of specialist clean.
Some key issues:
The house was left dusty, with many surfaces and windows still visibly dirty — I had to bring in my regular cleaner the next morning to re-clean several areas.
One of the cleaners was mopping with filthy black water until I asked her to change it.
The windows had to be redone twice, and even then were not clean.
The team seemed to lack direction — I found them sitting around on two separate occasions due to confusion about the builders being downstairs, rather than continuing with the areas that were accessible.
Most concerningly, a brand-new sink was scratched during the clean — a frustrating and completely avoidable issue.
I chose JA Clean based on their website's claim of providing professional, experienced after-builders cleaning. Unfortunately, that’s not what I experienced. Other companies I’ve since spoken to use proper after-builders equipment and methods — JA Clean arrived with only a bucket, mop, and basic vacuum.
Overall, I had to constantly oversee and recheck their work, which defeated the purpose of hiring a professional service in the first place. I would not recommend JA Clean for after-builders cleaning, especially if you are expecting a high standard of care and thoroughness.
