Japanathome Avis 

I ordered a “natural bamboo tea tray.” It took a while to arrive (it shipped from China, confirming the items are not actually from Japan).

When it came eventually, it was not natural bamboo, but completely different than the images. (Dark FAKE wood, not natural, and a completely different color).

I emailed them with pictures asking to advise. Automatic message said they aim to respond in 24-48 hours and it’s been 9 business days with no response.

Be wary of their fancy website - They obviously don’t have their supply chain or QA locked down.

Superb tableware offered to my wife for our home. I recommend it, the quality is very good and I haven't found similar products elsewhere (after much research).

Two items were missing from my order. They refused to reply until I made a claim through PayPal. Even then they wouldn't accept they didn't send the items. Avoid.

I echo the comments from various others on here that this company should be avoided.

The product I recieved was of an extremely poor standard. The paint was chipped all over and was certainly far from the expectations for the price point.

I have had some communication, and was offered a refund, but this is nowhere to be seen after months of trying.

I usually do my research and check a company before I make purchases, but this time I didn't and am paying the price.

Don't waste your time here. 'Japanese' style teapots direct from China, more expensive than they should be.

No social media, no replying to emails and isn't even in the UK - that's just a local domain to trick you.

RIP OFF!!! I spent almost £50 on teapot and 2 cups...they are doll sized, like a toy set, seriously unusable. I am soooo annoyed I didn't research this company on trust pilot first, I wouldn't have wasted my money.

I recently purchased some tableware from Japan at Home, and I must say I'm impressed with the quality of their products. The bowls and plates I ordered were well-crafted and sturdy, designed to withstand everyday use. The ceramic material felt substantial and durable, and the finishes were smooth and elegant. The products are good, I ordered 6 plates and 6 bowls which are of very good quality (Nōkon et Tsukuda). I recommend it.

SCAMMED! Ordered £50 worth of bowls from this company and they sent the wrong items (crappier versions that do not match the pictures on their website).

I have been e-mailing them to rectify this for a while and they are not responding. Do not buy anything from this company, it feels like a totally scam company.

Ordered, no receipt email with an order number. They don't respond to emails and there is no sign of the items I ordered. I have likely been scammed out of £42. So annoyed at myself for not looking here first.

Never received my order and heard nothing from the company. The only contact is an email address to which you do not get a response. Terrible service and terrible company. Avoid.

Dropshipping site, same as the french one. The order takes weeks to arrive, and it's nothing like what you see on the website : they don't know how to find *actual* real "original products that will last you a lifetime" (highly doubt it!!) but they sure know how to use Photoshop.
After a few research, you can see that the company was created by two business school brats who probably have a work ethic nearing the absolute zero, if they even know what that word means. If anyone wants pictures of what i ordered vs what i got, after weeks of twists and turns, i would happily oblige.
I am so mad at myself for buying there ! Learn from my mistakes and run away !

Japan at Home UK is a scam site. Ordered back in November. Have received no item two months later, absolutely no communication from company and no possibility of a refund. Please avoid.

Edit: now over four months later with patchy communication (one email a month) I've had a refund put though. Don't bother with these guys just go somewhere else.

I ordered some ceramics and 2 posters from this company. The posters took about 3-4 weeks to arrive, which I could live with. More recently I ordered two more posters, which have not arrived after nearly 2 months. One problem was that I had no emails from Japanathome confirming the order, so no order number. Japanathome gave NO REPLY TO MY EMAILS asking about the order/refund. Fortunately I had paid through PayPal, and when I raised a dispute via them - Lo and Behold! - a refund. My advice, if you use this company
- screenshot your order
- expect delays - it’s not coming from the UK or France, it’s coming from China
- pay via PayPal

So annoyed I didn't check Trustpilot first. This company sells Chinese-made products that *look* Japanese and ship from China. If they were honest about it on their website, that would be fine. But they are not honest about it and give the impression that their products are actually Japanese. Once I realised this I contacted them 3 times on all the emails I could find to cancel my order before it shipped but they didn't respond. So now they have my £100 until the damn things arrive so I can return them. This company should understand that people looking for Japanese products care about quality and provenance and pretending to be something you are not is about as unJapanese as you can be. Kicking myself I got conned.
