Gym was fine. I used to train at the Huddersfield JD all of the time. What I will say is that a few of the machines have fallen into disarray, and there was a lot more random litter in the dumbbell... Voir plus

Music is quite loud near treadmill areas, if slightly lower would be great for audio health, measured the audio as 100-110db

The gym has decent equipment
The gym has decent equipment. But, the men's sauna smells putrid and it generally wasn't very clean with thick layers of dust in some areas. If you need the gym for certain machines and don't want the sauna then it's okay, but otherwise I wouldn't recommend it.

Run down and neglected – Needs urgent attention
I recently rejoined JD Gym Huddersfield purely for convenience, as it’s just down the road from me but unfortunately nothing has changed in the two years since I last came. In fact, it’s worse.
The gym is not very clean, several machines are in poor condition, and some have been out of order for ages with no sign of being fixed anytime soon. There are even tiles hanging off the walls it clearly needs a proper refurbishment.
It’s a real shame because with just a bit of maintenance and investment the place could be massively improved. Out of all the JD Gyms I’ve been to this is by far the worst. Other locations in nearby towns are much better maintained.

Misogynistic boys club
It's unacceptable that open misogyny persists in this gym, with men stealing equipment if you look away and using their bodies in an attempt to physically intimidate you when confronted. The boys' club culture is strong. This isn't an inclusive space for women or neurodivergent individuals. Would give -5 stars if possible.

I just joined
I just joined, at my first day , no any staff members around not even a cliner , all my belongings are locked, no one have access to shower and toilet, I have to wait till 6 am in morning for some staff member to come in the gym, so guys absolutely terrible with old and dirty equipment, not even a cliner a round to do clining , so absolutely never ever again , there is many other gym around to give you better

Hello - Thanks for leaving us some feedback, we appreciate it. We are a 24-hour gym in Huddersfield, but areas which are not covered by CCTV are closed for the safety of our members (i.e. the main changing rooms and saunas). We do however, leave the accessible changing room open at all times, as well as there being lockers for you to use. If you need to get changed or grab a shower during the night, that option is there for you, and you'll have complete privacy.

Great Gym
Just started, friendly buch of staff, gave me a tour, told me where to start as it was my first time at the gym ever, loads of equipment, can get busy during hokiday so may have to wait for your choice of equipment, can't think.of anything bad about it. Just remember if you are new and drive there, you have to enter your reg on the iPad

Recommended...
Staff are friendly and always willing to help out if needed, the gym is clean and seems regularly kept up to. The space is large with extensive machines and equipment leaving you spoilt for choice no matter what you choose to do at the gym. The changing facilities, and showers are good and their sauna is a lovely perk for ending a gym session.
