JD Gyms - Leeds South Avis 

As a new member, wanted to speak to someone but every time I called it went to voicemail and although I did get a call back it was over a day later. My first time going - I went to ask for help and the man I asked was really unhelpful. The second time I went, we were all sat waiting for Pilates to start and then a gentleman came in and said it was cancelled as the persons car had broken down and that we just had to leave - already not a great experience or impression of this gym. Sorry

Love this Gym, became a new member this week, love the atmosphere and the ambience, was a PureGym member always too busy and the Personal trainers not friendly like here, well done 👍

Very good gym. Very clean. Good machines. Good environment. I really like the dark theme. I am really enjoying my time there.

Terrible, poor quality equipment that isn’t looked after, weights mis places everywhere, overall too crowded. Your sitting and waiting for machines no matter what time you go

The gym is very spacious and has a good variety of equipment however, there could be some improvements:
1. Need more glute machines maybe another glute drive in a morning and evenings can never get on it and when you’re on always people waiting, I know this is a very popular area of training so more equipment around this would cater for a lot of members.
2. When a class is on there’s never any equipment to use e.g no slam balls would be nice for this equipment to be spread out so not just all in one room that you cannot access.
3. Id say there’s slightly too much cardio equipment as most people do strength training would be nice for another smiths machine etc for this space as they’re are always plenty of bikes and cross trainers free. Plenty of treadmills tho and they always have people on.
4. Having more staff who are not personal training around as if you need assistance you don’t want to disturb staff who are in the middle of a session and is difficult to find someone.
Just a few suggestions, other than that good gym and I enjoy coming.

I’ve been a member for 3 years now. The gym is large with a lot of equipment however many items out of order or in poor condition. Class timetable has dwindled down and is very limited with some instructors who are wholly disinterested. Never any electric charging spaces free as everyone parks there regardless of car type. Lots of members now who seem to be clearly less than 16 years old just using the gym as a social club.

Excellent setup in gym and very straight forward process.

Looks like a great place to workout but the lighting is needed more as it is not bright in most places where it needs good lighting it will encourage to workout.

Very friendly and welcoming staff, lots of different gym equipment and classes.
Definitely worth the money and visit!

The smelly sauna!
It seems like it hasn’t been washed since it was built and there is fungal growth between the crevasses of the wooden slats - unhygienic

Went to my first Pilates class and it was absolutely excellent. The trainer clearly communicated and demonstrated the moves and helped me to understand the correct form for each position.
Can’t wait to go back

Friendly and plenty of equipment. First time there Lyndsey who was on duty explained the layout and offered to show me how to use anything o didn’t know. Only downside for me was massively busy both inside and car park but then I did go at 6pm !!! I know better now 🤔😳🫢

I had a gym tour by poppy one of the personal trainers and she demonstrated some of the equipment and asked me what I wanted to work on and what to use and not to use in her opinion. It was fab can’t wait to start using the gym
