Just joined to try and get rid of the last of my excess weight, really easy to join and the personal trainers are easy to contact.
Parking is easy and plentiful. The cardio machines are plentiful, and there’s a useful ladies only section, although no water or windows in that area.

I really enjoy my classes at JD with…
I really enjoy my classes at JD with Jenny including Zumba and yoga. Zumba is very fun and I burn a lot but of calories and yoga makes me feel relaxed and it’s good for my body. I am looking to get back to Pilates, I would prefer if we had another Pilates class in the week rather than just one.

Love this gym, especially Yoga with Jenny!
Love this gym, always plenty of equipment available and loads of classes to enjoy. Absolutely love Yoga with Jenny, just gutted they cancelled the Saturday morning class.

Good equipment but I don’t understand…
Good equipment but I don’t understand why changing rooms would be closed from 10pm onwards? I joined this gym because it’s open 24/7 and I finish work at 11pm Mon-sat so I can’t even take a shower after my workout?

Hello!
Thanks for leaving us some feedback, we appreciate it.
We are a 24-hour gym in Newport, but due to there being less staff on duty throughout the night, areas which are not covered by CCTV are closed t for the safety of our members (i.e. the main changing rooms and saunas).
We do however leave the accessible changing room open at all times, as well as there being lockers for you to use. If you need to get changed or grab a shower during the night, that option is there for you and you'll have complete privacy in there.

Smith Machine issues
Good gym but have an issue with the Smith Machines. The safety stoppers are way too high and cannot be lowered meaning you can’t use them for hip thrusts. My previous gym had smith machines with much lower stoppers and they were perfect.
Please invest in new Smith Machines as they are too restrictive!

Jenny’s yoga & Pilates class JDs
Been doing yoga & Pilates with Jenny for a few months and the health benefits have been incredible. Jenny is a wonderful teacher, and makes everyone welcome and at ease. Jenny talks through each movement, giving various levels from a very beginner to those who are more advanced. Yoga is recommended by Doctors to help with physical issues, and I have found it also helps with my wellbeing as it calms my mind. I leave Jenny’s classes feeling energised and relaxed with any stress melted away. I would highly recommend this class to anyone.

Huge thanks to the best Yoga and Pilates trainer, Jenny Lui
I’ve been a member at JD Gyms Newport (Spytty) for almost a month now and I’d just like to thank one of the Trainers, Jenny Lui, for being so fantastic and encouraging. Jenny goes above and beyond to make everyone feel so welcome and her enthusiasm is unmatched. She’s super supportive and I love her yoga and Pilates classes - I just wish there were more throughout the week.
Joining a new gym is quite a daunting experience but I’m so grateful for Jenny making me feel so comfortable and happy there.

Excellent choice of equipment
Excellent choice of equipment, easy 24 hour access. Would be 5 star review, but showers not being open after 22:00 for shift workers is the only negative. Would recommend gym.
