JD Gyms - Sunderland Avis 

The classes are great, I look forward to going to the gym rather dreading it

I don’t have ideas of where most of the equipments I need to use are. Also the gym is sometimes too occupied.

The gym has a lot of equipment, the weights are good and there’s loads of treadmills and machines, it’s clean mostly, the men’s smell every time, Iv been going for about a year i swap between washy and Sunderland depending on my work, and I do always notice it’s the same 2 staff members on shift though Rob and Lewis it is as if there’s no other staff other than the cleaners, you can guarantee no matter what time you’re there you only see the same 2 members of staff, poor lads never seem to get a day off, other members joke that they live there but it’s so different to Washington.
manager is never in, only 1 personal trainer on the wall, washy however has quite a few, you’d think as a big gym in a great location there would be more personal trainers
If you’re thinking of becoming a member and you want support or you might need it, go to Washington take the extra few minutes drive you’ll be more supported, 2 staff members are great though, sauna is great

Really needs updating other than that I quite enjoyed my first visit so much easier with scan & go hopefully will be back this Friday

Great facilities. Clean changing rooms and showers. The running machines were pretty gross though with really old looking dirt imbedded in the sections where you can put your personal belongings though. Need a deep clean.

1st time there and easy to find my class. Great system at the entrance too.

Iv been coming to JD in Sunderland for a while now after switching from everlast and the staff are so lovely and supportive especially the 2 young lads, the changing rooms are always kept clean and there is a good amount of equipment. However Iv noticed a few times Iv been that a tall guy sticks his tripod and camera in the middle of the gym floor infront of multiple equipment and screams and shouts. He faces it towards the stairs where me and my friends are extremely uncomfortable to walk up or down as I do not want to be on social media live at the gym, it’s our time to work out without worrying about where I’m ending up on the internet. Not only that it feels I am zig zagging around his camera just to go to the toilet. I come to the gym to work out we should be able to walk freely without dodging a camera that is 3 metres away from him. As well as he walks away from it for a good 5 minutes so it sits there filming everyone. I have seen some staff having to go tell him but I guess nothing has changed. I have been so disappointed about this situation that I’m thinking of switching gyms which is a shame as jd is close commute for me.

Great gym much better that the everyone active gym nearby lots of options for weights and cardio and performance Base haven't met staff yet as it's a self serve gym scan in and out 24/7 great place to workout next steps get ontop of my cardio 🥁

Great gym, never saw any staff on my first visit. Was asking other members how to work equipment and luckily I saw a friend so now I have a gym buddy, she helped with equipment. Great sauna, everywhere was very clean, brought sanitising wipes with me to use on equipment I used.
