Please please please do not do business with Joe Tech Performance and Kissimmee Florida. They are a total rip off. They do not like to refund money that you pay them and also to get a refund you have to take him to court. They break things on your vehicle to make you pay more. Please avoid this repair shop like it is Covid.
Before I start, it is noteworthy to add that Jorge Ricardo Ortiz Carpena (owner of Jo Tech Performance, Inc., at 613 E Donegan Ave, Kissimmee, FL 34744) has actually served time in jail for child abuse in Osceola County, FL. Case# CF10-2696

On January 5, 2023, my wife and I sent Jorge Ricardo Ortiz Carpena (owner of Jo Tech Performance, Inc., 613 E Donegan Ave, Kissimmee, FL 34744) $9500.00 for the removal, repair and reinstallation of the engine in our 2013 Mini Cooper Countryman S ALL4 JCW. From that day to the present, we were fed multitudes of lies regarding the location of our engine, updates on any work progress and ultimately on June 18, 2024 had our engine returned in pieces, completely covered in rust with zero work done. During this ordeal, I visited the shop multiple times and was always either lied to, avoided or threatened with bodily harm as was during my last visit with my wife and Mr. Ortiz's accountant and three Osceola County Police officers as witnesses.
February 9, 2024, I turned to Osceola County Police for help recovering my engine from Mr. Ortiz. On body cam he lies to the police, (Officer A. Fontanez, Case# 2402090184) telling her that the reason he was withholding my engine was that I had cancelled payment. On that same body cam, I showed the officer my bank statements showing that that was a lie. The officer arranged for Mr. Ortiz to return my engine one week later.
He did not.
June 18, 2024, I was finally able to retrieve my engine from Mr. Ortiz by telling him that I would transport my own engine to a machining shop to have the repairs done myself. It was returned completely dismantled, covered in rust with zero work completed. As soon as I had the engine in hand, I calmly told Mr. Ortiz that I was done trying to work with him and wanted my money back. I told him it was obvious he was not interested in completing the job he was hired to do and I wanted my money back. I was even generous enough to offer to pay for the labor of removing the engine even if it came with the year worth of lies and mental anguish he put us through and just return the rest of the money.
He became highly agitated and threatened us with bodily harm. We calmly sat down and again requested our refund. Mr. Ortiz told us he had no way of returning our money due to some credit card company issue. All of this was happening in front of his accountant. I turned to his accountant and asked her how this refund could proceed and Mr. Ortiz then threatened her as well and had her refrain from communicating with us.
He then called the police and attempted to have a restraining order placed on us. We remained calmly seated. This is, by the way, on his security cameras and shows us completely calm while he continues to attempt to provoke violence and intimidation towards us.
When the police arrived, we were still calmly seated. I asked to speak to the officers outside and I produced my initial case number, receipts, the text conversations with Mr. Ortiz and showed them the state of the engine he had returned to me. Osceola County Officer B. Salgado created case# 2406190299 (the writing is not clear and can also be case# 2406180299). They had body cams on and also included photos of the dismantled engine covered in rust in their report.
June 20, 2024, Mr. Ortiz sent me a text which included a picture of his computer screen showing a "paid" invoice of a refund to me of $7,831.12 and said he was working with his credit card company to refund the payment.
This is his attempt at creating a false paper trail. The refund was never completed.
