Terrible company, no peoples skill and unhelpful. They dont tailor their work to your needs and everything seems generic. I had to point them in the right direction and prompt them on various points, felt like I was the one doing all the work. Made a formal complain to the company about my solicitor and then was assigned a more 'senior' member who was just as bad. When advising them I will no longer be using their services they were not even interested in finding out why and straight away sent me an inflated invoice. Do not recommend. I am now being advised by a barrister so I definitely recommend exploring this route.

Yes, divorces are expensive but you will be well represented by this firm.

I wanted advice before proceeding with my divorce. I had approached another local Oxford solicitor and was unimpressed with their lack of forthcoming advice (I needed to prompt them with questions about the process). I then google searched marital solicitors in Oxford and found KJSmith. I was assigned Sofie Corbin. She could not have been more calming, informative, honest and helpful.

Whilst any legal fees are never welcome, Sofie was upfront about the likely costs and their policy is to keep clients informed as to any deviation from likely expenses. I did encounter hiccup with paying online, but now I pay my bill over the phone which is easily done with a friendly and helpful accounts person.

We are in the final throes of my divorce proceedings and I feel satisfied that I have received a very good service from Sofie and her team (not least compared to the advice my husband received from his separate firm of advisors). Sofie helped me negotiate a fair settlement.

I approached KJ Smith Solicitors last September as I had to proceed with a divorce. I met with Seema in Beaconsfield office who held my hand through the whole process. The divorce was tough and frustrating and Seema saw me at my lowest but still managed to keep me going. I was given professional advice from the very beginning including a breakdown of all costs at each stage. The later part of the divorce was dealt with by Harpreet who took a slightly stronger hand (due to ex-husbands behaviour) and finalised the divorce. Again Harpreet had to deal with me in tears on several occasions but kept me positive. Overall would be happy to recommend this company.

I would add that the 5 star is purely for the work that Harpreet put in. I found the company itself aggressive in its charging policy and rather expensive especially in comparison to the other solicitor that was dealing with conveyancing.

I enquired over the telephone about a meeting to review our existing Wills and set up a property Will Trust. The email reply from the trainee just outlined their standard Wills service missing the points I had made. ‘Perhaps I didn’t explain myself ?’ so I put everything clearly in writing. No reply, just an ‘out of office’. Chased up again 2 weeks later but again, no reply, just another ‘out of office’. Not even a ‘Sorry’, ‘We’re too busy’ or ‘Just stop annoying us’ ! Truly pathetic service by so called ‘Legal Professionals’ ! Don’t waste your time, plenty of other solicitors out there !

I knew I was about to embark on a very long journey to end a 30 year marriage, however after my first meeting with Robyn she provided me with clear information and guidance and I knew I was in safe hands with someone who was professional and experienced.
