I would not even give this app 1 star. It is a scam. You click on the 'get app' expecting them to show you charges if there are charges and the next minute they have taken £6.99 plus two lots of £19.99. This is without verifying the purchase. Luckily the bank picked up a scam and cancelled the second payment but I am still waiting for the other two amounts to be refunding. When I contact Knita they sent weird automated emails back saying 'this is our final word on it' and 'absolutely no refunds'.

Misleading Facebook ad – advertised pattern unavailable and no refund

I subscribed to Knita.app after seeing a Facebook advertisement under the name “KnitCrochet Hub”, featuring a specific Halloween crochet dress that I was interested in making.

After purchasing the subscription, I discovered that the pattern for the advertised dress was not actually available on the website.

I contacted customer support and explained the situation. They asked me which pattern I was looking for, so I sent them a screenshot of their own Facebook advertisement showing the dress. Their response was that they were sorry they could not help me. They confirmed that my subscription had been cancelled and that I would not be charged again.

However, I also asked for a refund of the amount I had already paid. Since the specific pattern shown in the advertisement was the reason I subscribed in the first place, I think this is a perfectly reasonable request. I paid for access based on their advertising, but the advertised pattern was not available.

My refund request was refused, with reference to their refund policy.

I find this very disappointing and misleading. If a company uses a specific crochet design to advertise its subscription, customers should reasonably be able to expect that the pattern for that design is actually included and available after subscribing.

I would not have purchased the subscription if I had known that the advertised Halloween dress pattern was not available.

For anyone who came across the same Facebook advertisement: the ad I saw appeared under the name “KnitCrochet Hub”, while the subscription/service I was directed to was Knita.app.
