Welcome to Lakeland Artisan. We have won over 90 Great Taste Awards as well as various other awards. Our aim is to produce award-winning products, with a special link to Cumbria and the Lake District with all its unique and delicious flavours. Our products are hand-crafted in small batches in Kendal in the English Lake District, using only the finest natural ingredients.

Very poor communication.
I have been ordering from Lakeland Artisan for some time. Deliveries usually arrive within 2-3 days. This time my order was acknowledged, but now they have gone completely silent, despite me emailing them and trying to phone. I get that they only work 4 days a week and finish at 4 p.m. but my email was sent early this morning. If there is a backlog, they need send out a message to all customers saying that orders are being delayed. Not impressed by the customer service or the fulfilment of orders

Thank you for your review Annette. I am so sorry we did not meet our usual high standard of service. As explained by email, we had an unexpected and prolonged problem with our internet, and had been unable to access any orders placed, emails or receive any phone calls for several days. The problem has now been rectified so I can assure you we are now back to the great level of service we usually provide. Many thanks Lakeland Artisan

Time to find a different courier
I am a long-standing customer and have always found the level of service from Lakeland Artisan high. In this instance, I submitted an older order by mistake and after realising what I had done Lakeland promptly fixed it for me, which I am grateful for.
However, I have deducted a star because the transaction was not without hiccups: one of the bottles had been smashed to smithereens in transit (despite clearly labelled "fragile"). In fairness to Lakeland, the bottles were well packed, with the inner box wrapped in bubble wrap, so this is not a criticism of them. The postman did offer to take the consignment back, but given it was only a single bottle I just couldn't be bothered with all the rigmarole. I would also point out that one of my previous consignments ended up up in Northern Ireland (again, a Royal Mail error, not Lakeland Artisan's). Personally I would consider using a different courier; I have had other mishaps with Royal Mail (not connected to Lakeland orders) and it is obvious standards have slipped in recent years.
Please note: I am not requesting a refund or replacement (when I accepted the package I accepted the damage); but ultimately, the transit arranged by Lakeland does become part of the overall service, and they should review their courier options IMO.
