Being a provider of Lawn Guru i have notbeen paid. They give you the lawns to cut and after customers can complain and get free lawncuts. Then the provider does not get paid. Thats the scam. So use lawn guru, get your lawn cut, then complain to get your money back. Always keep a pic of your lawn when it’s long in your photo gallery to send to them.
Best advice is use only local landscapers.

Clippings left behind and blown onto my neighbor's property
After the most recent mowing, the crew did not blow off the clippings as expected. A large amount of grass was left on the driveway and walkways, and a significant amount ended up on my neighbor's property. My neighbor came to me with a complaint, which put me in an uncomfortable position.
Cleanup after mowing should be a basic part of the service. I would like LawnGuru to make sure providers complete the blowing and cleanup before marking a job as done, and to check the work with photos or a simple checklist. I hope this feedback helps improve the service for other customers.

To help clarify, our basic mowing service does not include bagging grass clippings, but it is available as an add-on request through our special services anytime you need it.

Pros and cons to the app
I don't like that you need to wait 3 days to get paid, i feel like if you arrive and complete a job and send in pictures you should get paid that day. When it snows you get paid the same day. I do like that if you are slow that day you can pick something else up and go do it. The prices on jobs are silly to me, for example the price of gas is so high but to go and cut a yard is 38 dollars, who wants to drive there truck and trailer around for 38 dollars that's not even covering gas. For jobs that need a quote there should be a time limit on when the job should be available. If there are bids the client should be told that they have reached (let's say, 5 quotes and now they need to choose one or close the bid). Update the app more frequently. Sometimes the pictures don't load up at all or I need to wait to get out of a certain area to complete my work, it makes it seem like I was there for 2 hours when I was there for 30 minutes.

They act like they own the contrators equipment and business a d then ehen you go to a property the lawn could be over growen and and larger then what the apps says and you take pictures to send in and theu still short change you sayinh the grass was not tha t high you cant tell that from a picture and also the contratores are very under paid for all that they do

LawnGuru and I got off to a rocky start.
LawnGuru and I got off to a very rocky start.
They gabe me a guy that never showed up. In the mean time, the grass kept growing. I had to get a little stern, finally got another guy scheduled. Then his truck was down for brakes. Took a couple days for that. Then it rained. Even though I had figured on paying extra due to grass height, I got hit with a larger tall grass charge. So, I'm not a LawnGuru fan yet.

LawnGuru is Useful Depending On Your Business Needs
As a provider LawnGuru is useful to get a little extra work and full holes in your schedule. It is a useful tool for solo guy who are just launching their lawn business.
They pay peanuts. On a $45 cut the provider collects about $30, LawnGuru takes the other $15. LawnGuru doesn’t tell you this upfront but that’s more or less how the math works out, unless they’re desperate to get jobs picked up. It sort of functions like Uber in that way, being demand based.
Of all the 3rd Party Lawn Service platforms (GreenPal, LawnStarter, Plowz&Mowz etc), LawnGuru is the easiest to work with despite paying out the least. I have used all of them, but I quickly dropped them all except LawnGuru. Also, pay comes within a week which is nice.
Sometimes you will pick up a yard and upon arrival realize it is severely overgrown. This is a problem with LawnGuru because you can’t simply demand more money or refuse to do the work. You either have to do it and take the L or pay a $15 fine for dropping them and risk a low rating. I have never received a 1-Star for cancelling a job for this reason but LawnGuru always collects their $15 fine, without exception.
I aim for $80 per on-the-job man hour with my direct customers. With LawnGuru it’s rare to make even $30 on a 30 minute cut, usually for $30 I’m putting in about 40-45 minutes on the work. If it takes longer than that I finish the one job then drop the customer moving forward.
Always check the square footage on the AI Measurements before picking up a yard, try and keep them below 4-5K square feet of turf.
