Light Aircraft Sales
Nicholas was most helpful in the selling of my project. Unwelcome "nuisance" queries were filtered out and I was only presented with serious offers. I feel the commission charged was money well spent. This is the second occasion that I have used the brokerage and would recommend to others without reservation.

VH-ELL is not quote 'Beautifully maintained'
The aircraft VH-ELL is currently advertised as quote "Beautifully Maintained". Whilst conducting the pre-purchase inspection with the qualified engineer it was discovered that the underside skin of the horizontal stabiliser has significant stone damage to the extent of almost protruding through the skin surrounding rivets and load bearing structure. The underside skin was also 'oil canning' with the slightest amount of pressure.
This aircraft also has damage to the underside of the tail signifying a possible tail strike.
The aircraft is advertised as fitted with ADSB, it was discovered ADSB is not fitted to VH ELL.
In referencing the Cessna Maintenance manual with regards to skin damage it was highly likely this aircraft in its current state would be considered un-airworthy.
Non of this damage is depicted in the photo's presented in the advertisement.
My aviation experience consists of 30yrs and 12,500hrs.

Thank your for your review. We take our customer feedback very seriously and appreciate all comments.
However, the last time we heard from you and your company and their representatives, the conversation and feedback was quite different. This has us extremely confused. Is there something else that we need to know?
1. We take advice from our clients and they are contractually obliged to indicate hours, avionics, condition and other features of their aircraft. They did this with this aircraft. The tailplane issue was noted by you and we discussed this with you and your inspecting LAME in depth. We immediately sent photos to the Seller and ask them to explain. We confirmed to you that we had not been told about the stone damage and that we had questioned this with the seller. After just a few hours a solution contractually was ready to be reached; and it was always a possibility to renegotiate or rectify the wear/damage in a proper manner. The Seller was happy to enter into these negotiations with your company.
2. In terms of providing security to you, it was agreed that your company was given the opportunity to properly and thoroughly inspect the aircraft. This is absolutely necessary in a purchase of this size, and we always recommend a conditional purchase as standard. The reason for this is to avoid the situation where you purchase an aircraft ‘unseen’ or unchecked and Buyer regrets their decision later. You provided feedback on inspection (Re. Tailplane and some other issues found) and we immediately acted on that feedback with the Seller and reported to your management. Did we do something wrong here? We need to understand your feedback as it doesn’t make sense to us.
3. Your LAME indicated that a deal should be reached irrespective of the findings and that his advice was to ‘go ahead’ with the purchase with a renegotiation of same (to be agreed by the parties). He indicated that the aircraft was ‘over-maintained’ and that it was in very good condition other than the matters noted and reported in his inspection. He made that very clear to me personally. You also indicated similarly. What has changed since we last spoke? We need to understand so that we can improve our service to our clients.
4. Unfortunately your company owner suddenly and unexpectedly bypassed our business and called the Seller directly instead to indicate his ‘displeasure’ with the aircraft. In 5 years of brokering this has never happened. It is entirely unusual. The call was described to us as rather unpleasant and unprofessional. It was described that he ‘went through’ and abused the pilot. This is hardly in keeping with the manner in which all parties expect business to be undertaken in serious and sizeable business transaction. We were disappointed to hear that, but we were prepared to attempt to move forward nonetheless.
5. We appreciate constructive feedback always and would be delighted to hear how we could improve our own service offering. However, we have no feedback from the above review other than you were disappointed with the aircraft itself and that you claim that it was misrepresented. To the extent that the Seller did not note and provide photos of the tail wear, we understand the point and we acted upon it.
But perhaps you could outline how OUR service was substandard and what exactly you would have had us do differently. We will then review our processes and determine a better way to handle things moving forward.
6. We immediately and professionally refunded ALL monies held in trust within 1 hour of your company terminating the agreement. Your company received funds and sent a message to say that you “appreciate all your work on this project”; hardly feedback in line with your review.
