There is a definite advantage to having…

There is a definite advantage to having the tracker on your dog. There is a learning curve to using the app but customer service is very responsive to my questions. The battery has to be charged every night but software updates occur automatically then and so far it is working fine. My only concern is if the dog was lost, the battery would not last after 24 hrs.and then the tracker is useless.

Lightning strike zapped our charging…

Lightning strike zapped our charging base. It was replaced promptly at no cost. Also like the free upgrade to Link Plus, with improved user interface & bar graph showing time of day of activity peaks. I can see how much & how long he is napping.
We live in a rural area with cell reception leaving something to be desired. When we are out walking in the country & he gets out of my sight, it can take 5 minutes or so before I get a cell connection for locator to track him. Those seem like a long 5 minutes! In town, it is faster.

Wish I could give zero stars

Purchased this item just over two weeks ago. First few days it worked, was actually fun to be able to see our pups activity level and location. However, not 10 days into it, and it stopped working completely. I've uninstalled and reinstalled the app multiple times and there were no changes. The cellular connectivity and GPS satellite availability were just fine. The battery was fully charged so those aren't the issues. I’ve attempted to call the help number that is offered with this product numerous times, only to be redirected to an automated answering service that takes your number with a promise to return the call, I’m still waiting one week later. Also, there is an email provided as another option when help is needed, so I attempted to try that method to resolve this issue. Still no response. I’m not sure what my options are to get a refund at this point. Very disappointed!

This collar is good when it works

This collar is good when it works. I have had this collar for two weeks and every single day I have to rsync this collar to my phone before my dog can go potty. Also I have found that if my wife signs into the app on her phone when I am away that I will have to rsync my phone with the collar when I get back home. Again when it works it works well but for most people we want to protect our pets if they happen to wander off and not being able to do that consistently is not an option. Please fix the sync issues.

We agree! Right now you are your wife are sharing login information to access the app and only one account can be connected to the Link system at a time. Our new ownership team is preparing for an app update to release in the near future to enable multiple people to log into your dog's account--especially in the event he would ever go Away and need the Lost Dog Tracking feature. Thank you for the valuable feedback. It makes our developers happy to know they're headed in the right direction!

I love my Link AKC

I love my Link AKC. I always know where my great escape artist Husky is at all times. I tried the Whistle 3 but I definitely prefer this product.
The Customer Service is excellent. They’ll help you anyway possible to ensure your pet is safe & sound. I really enjoy everything about Link AKC.

Great product and great customer service

Great product and great customer service anytime I had some sort of issue customer service was able to assist me right away and they were so pleasant and professional. Can’t speak any higher of this device and the people that work for LinkAKC

It's has lots of features that others…

It's has lots of features that others don't. Customer service is Pawsome!!
App & notifications can use some help
- like notifications if the collar goes offline.... Some tweaking is needed.
All in all - better than the rest, paws down!!

Worthless product

The battery didn't even last a full day. I put it on my dog and we went to sleep, by the time we woke up it was at 25%. He isn't active at night, he sleeps with me. The app does NOT have the settings that would allow me to set a safe zone as they advertised. The temperature is not ambient it's your dog's actual temperature, which doesn't allow you to monitor their environment. The collar didn't recognize A SINGLE MOVEMENT for the activity tracker portion. The customer service isn't great either. They refused to refund my subscription fee because I used it for 3 days- to test out the app and collar. And they are making me pay for shipping to return the collar.
Edit: maybe you should read my review more closely. Your collar is NOT measuring the ambient temperature as the temperature outside right now is in the 40s and I got a notice while outside for my dog being at 100 degrees I believe it was. My bluetooth is connected and my dog next left the area of the base so you specifying that would help the battery somehow makes zero sense. You had a rep reach out to me after I posted this review and yet when I responded she hasn't said a word since. WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY.

Thank you for giving the Link system a try! Our customer care department is still very willing to walk through the steps to help you set an Activity Goal so that your device is allowed to report that information to your app, as well as enable your Bluetooth connection permissions on your phone so that you could connect Together to improve your battery life. And while we are working to expand the features of the Link, it only has the capabilities to monitor the ambient room temperature. A dog's temperature is actually over 100 degrees and we wouldn't have an accurate way of measuring a dog's internal temperature with our external device. We also do refund unused service plan time per the Return & Cancellation Policy on our website.

AKC Link..So far so good

So far so good. It was a little bit a wrestling match to get the tracker into the sleeve. My dog has already adapted to the size of the tracker. I think he associates it with the underground fence collar. I also like the tracking app & the exercise activity aspect of the app.

Our Link team is so happy you're enjoying the system! The Link definitely fits securely into the sports sleeve as added security to keep it attached to the collar, which is why we recommend it for our more active dogs--just like your little guy!

ordered 3. got quickly but 1/3 wont charge. app is slow and glitchy. hard to add subscription. batteries are pathetic. about 24 hours. about to return and get fido collar.

Their customer support told me I would…

Their customer support told me I would get an automatic call back but yet it didn't happen because they closed 15 minutes later and yet no one ever called me back. terrible service
