Journalists (?) on the echo trawl through Facebook for stories and looking to report latest changes to McDonald menus absolute joke of a newspaper

Sadly the news paper for local people is doing its upmost to alienate local people
Just like the owners of Liverpool football club

The website takes an age to load, it is infested with pop ups and ads. When I am reading a story, it suddenly jumps to another part of the page because some useless image or ad has popped up. They really need to hire a new website designer. Most likely somebody with basic quals could dramatically improve the UX. Most people want to get to the information with the least amount of clicks, quick loading, zero unrelated sales/ads. Simply put, we want the path of least resistance. It seems to operate like a scam style sight or AliExpress with the amount of pointless obstacles and sensory overload. It's also much worse on mobile. I just don't use it there at all.

allways bought echo in 70s 80s and 90s...... used to read it online recently... but now its behind a paywall..... will never bother with echo again..

basically pointless and useless, no actual service to readers and/or citizens: they just write about (cheap) fashion, football and a bit of daily crime. Plus, they never reply to proper reports.

What the hell has happened to THE LIVEPOOL ECHO? I can remember when it had proper JOURNALISTS who were local and it was printed in LIVERPOOL.This is not THE ECHO it is CRAP.

Totally unreadable, pop up paywalls even on articles that dont say 'premium', its a shambles of a website & has really gone downhill since leaving Liverpool.

ripping off scousers to read a local paper online is not on, the sales of the printed edition are depleating fast on merseyside, so some bright spark has come up with this idea. not printed on merseyside, full of clickbait, and constant reapeated artickles.

Misleading headlines and publishing stories that are exaggerated , not sure if they do their own research. I think this paper is just greedy to sell. Headlines are published to cause panic or false excitement.

How can you try and charge people to read local news but when you read it it’s about Urmston and other areas of Manchester Is this because it’s printed in Manchester

It's model is just pure greed Journalism is lazy, no spell checking of articles and the paywall is just nonsense. More local news going behind its paywall the echo site is inundated with crap ads so unusable. I for one will not bother reading this crappy paper anymore. I would actually have given no stars but that is not an option

Worst paper in history ads and pop ups and bad journalism killed it for me not for me anymore

The journalism isn't great. Most of the stories are 'here's something we did in Liverpool' or rehashing of old articles. The new subscription service is the killer. A complete ripoff for what you get. Last time I'll ever read the paper.

I agree with all the negative reviews but this rag is finished so let's get over it.
