Does not even deserve one star

Does not even deserve one star. Do not purchase a car from this dealership. Simply the worst Customer service experience ever. The Service book was stamped Like it had full service history But there was no registration number To link the book with the car. I asked to see copies of the V5 And also Paper copies of the service history to back up the book- I was advised that Charles the boss had these stored away And he didn’t work Sundays- they charge 1/2 The price of the vehicle as a deposit- And then tell you that they will service and MOT the vehicle Said that you will pick up a fully checked serviced and mot’d Car to give you peace of mind- Three days after placing the deposit, I had a call from Charles to say the car was ready for collection- The following day he must’ve completely forgotten speaking to me because we had another telephone conversation where he told me the car was going in For MOT and servicing Work but They had to order some parts which were delayed and it was gonna be A couple of weeks at least-
During this time, the car was still advertised as available- I had also done As much research as possible on Charles and his Unscrupulous practices - He has been ripping people off for years. Check the forum “mini 2 “ and type in his name .
It seemed odd when we arrived at the dealership that there was no dealership name or logo , any decent reputable car sales company Would be proud to have their name and logo Big and bright - but only a small A board with chalked writing. Charles has done this on purpose so that when the court bailiffs come He can deny being London Mini-
I called Charles To politely retract from the purchase the day after he called me And asked for the return of my deposit. I spent weeks Chasing him for the deposit ( 1/2 The price of the car)
As soon as he knew it was me on the phone he kept brushing me off with excuses and never returned my money. STAY AWAY DO NOT BUY FROM THESE CROOKS-

Dodgy MOT and shocking after sales service.

Having now read the reviews on London Mini, I can see why I am having the troubles I am.

I took the car I purchased away the same day as I was on a timeline. It had a "service due" light on the dashboard, and I agreed with Charles that I would bring it back for it's service.

However, given the distance and inconvenience of doing so, I decided to have it serviced at a local garage and Charles agreed to contribute towards the cost of that service (£30), which I was happy with (or would have been if I had ever received it).

Unfortunately, the local garage identified 4 serious MOT failures which I obviously had to put right.

Considering the car had been given a fresh MOT by London Mini before I bought it, I was very surprised and frustrated to find out there were some very obviously MOT failures. I obviously bought the car in good faith with a new MOT and did not therefore inspect it for failure points.

Naturally, I did not therefore expect to have to correct MOT failure issues. However, with safety in mind, I had the work completed by my local garage and then contacted London Mini to discuss this, and I was more than calm and reasonable in my approach.

I also had additional work completed at the time, which was my choice and in contacting London Mini, I asked for reimbursement of the MOT failure items (and only those items) from the work I had completed by the local garage, since I should not have had to complete this work myself, all being MOT related failure items.

Charles failed to respond to my messages and emails initially, but after multiple follow ups, refused to pay on the grounds I should have had the work completed on warranty, the very warranty for which I have no paperwork outlining what is and isn't covered, but it is likely a safe bet none of the items would be covered under "wear and tear", for example an illegal tyre, a failed ball joint, failed number plate lamps and split window wipers.

I feel very strongly about the fact the car passed it's MOT with obvious remaining MOT failures which leads me to question the validity of the MOT.

In summary, I know and accept London Mini is a business and therefore in it to make a profit like any business, but this should not be at the expense of safety issues and it is reasonable to expect the MOT has been completed to the correct standard, which it clearly has not been in this case.

While the team seem nice enough people on the surface of it when you're actually doing the deal, based on my experience and seemingly many other bad experiences people have had dealing with this company, it is my advice to avoid them, unless you want to be potentially saddled with unexpected costs you are unlikely to get back.

It is a real shame, now that I have had the unexpected work completed, the car itself is very nice. But all things considered, I would strongly advise you to avoid this company who will probably go out of business before long because they simply do not care about the customer and after service.

London Mini, unless you are responding to repay me the money I am reasonably due, please don't waste yours and my time in replying, I'll see you in the small claims court instead and look forward to you settling up all the associated costs with this being an open and shut case. If you'd just been fair and reasonable, you could have saved us all a lot of bother.

STAY AWAY!

Placed a deposit on a car 29th December. Received zero paperwork, no receipt of deposit, no payment terms or contract. Was told the vehicle would be ready on 5th of Jan, this date kept getting pushed back. The communication was very poor! Asked for a refund via email. Then had to chase Charles the next day and had to request a refund again.
Charles informed me that I would get a refund -15% for cancellation fee. Holding me to payment terms and conditions despite never sending me the terms and conditions. Here I am over a week later still not received a single penny in the form of a refund.

I'm now having to go through solicitors to try and get my money back but he already has 5 unpaid CCJ's outstanding. I'm a little relieved I never got the car because it would have been riddled with issue's and probably unsafe to drive.

DO NOT PUT YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TRUST IN THIS BUSINESS!!

Poor customer service

We took the car in as the boot would not open & Charles agreed to do a diagnostic and let us know the following day what the issue was. He didn’t communicate at all & when we contacted him he said he had already started the work without our authorisation. It then took him over a week to complete the work & we had to call him every day. The job cost nearly £500 which apparently included deducting the cost of the diagnostic. Completely unacceptable and we had no choice but to pay as otherwise he would not have released the car. A great salesman but absolutely appalling service levels. Avoid.

Excellent experience - Thank you!!!

Thank you to Charles and the team for making the purchase of my lovely new mini completely seamless. The vehicle was available to collect in perfect time (in fact earlier then I had anticipated) and it was in immaculate condition. Charles and the team are clearly passionate about mini's and take the time to understand their customers. I have had 3 cars in my life and this is by far my favourite of all. I cannot thank them enough! Highly reccomend.

Mispromise Sales

If zero stars were possible, this place would get them. Charles, the salesperson, lied about the deposit refund, promising a full refund if we didn’t like the car, then tried to charge a 15% “handling fee” after we cancelled. He sent unwanted alternative cars, issued an invoice for a cancelled vehicle, and it took over three weeks and repeated chasing to get a partial refund £712.35 short of what we were owed. We’ve now filed a court claim. Avoid this dealership and Charles at all costs.

I would award no stars if possible.

I would award no stars if possible.
After endless excuses and delays, I asked for my deposit back.... I could note them all down here, but there's not enough room !!!
The refund due is 15% of the deposit £1000.Clearly stated on invoice and in showroom.
After more game playing , including illogical emails, as to why i was receiving only £100 refund
I returned the money to Charles, and will now leave it in the hands of the Courts.
Beware the AA website, where London MIni advertise extensively, it means NOTHING

**Avoid London Mini – Dishonest and Unreliable Dealer**

At first, London Mini appeared friendly and professional, both over the phone and in person. However, once I made the payment, their attitude changed completely. I’ve had the car for less than seven months, and it has been nothing but problematic.

I was assured that the car would receive a full service and health check before delivery, but that clearly never happened. On the day of delivery, the oil warning light was already illuminated, and all four wheels were scratched and chipped, despite being in perfect condition when I viewed the car at the dealership.

I took the car in for an early service, and my mechanic discovered several issues:
- Black rocks, dirt, and even snails in the air filter compartment.
- A cabin filter filled with dirt and debris.
- Pitch-black engine oil that had obviously not been changed.
- Old, dirty spark plugs.
- A stripped power steering hose, found while investigating an oil leak in the engine bay.
- Soon after, the central locking system stopped functioning.

The power steering failed within the first week, confirming that these issues existed before I received the vehicle. It is evident that the car was never properly serviced or inspected, despite the promises made to me.

London Mini misled me and sold me a car in poor condition. As a first-time car buyer, I trusted them— and they took full advantage of that trust.

I urge you to avoid this dealership at all costs. They are dishonest, do not stand by their word, and once they have your money, they disappear. No one should have to go through this, especially when spending their hard-earned money.

Sketchy practices

Sketchy practices, as others have described. Frequent, unexplained delays, mot not actually done, more delays, polite before purchasing, unpleasant afterwards.

And isn’t it funny how so many of the 5-star reviewers of this company have identical incorrect grammar and punctuation?

Great Service from a great Team

I was looking to buy a Mini for my daughter for under £5,000, and to be honest, my expectations weren’t particularly high. Living locally in Hampton, I decided to visit the experts and support a local business — London Mini. They were offering a 12-month MOT and service, along with a free 3-month warranty, which felt like a no-brainer.

Meeting Charles and Ben was genuinely a pleasure — both were charming and professional. With over 35 years’ experience in recruitment, I’d say I have a pretty good sense of people, and they made a great impression. They provided helpful insight into the car I was purchasing, and on delivery, patiently explained all the key features to me.

Two weeks after the purchase, an engine warning light came on. The issue was resolved within two days — no fuss, no complaints — with a new sensor and plug, just in time for my daughter’s birthday.

I highly recommend London Mini. I’ve noticed some reviews from people trying to haggle over what is already a fair price, but personally, I don’t mind paying for a quality car that comes with excellent service and a warranty for peace of mind.

Brilliant service !

Could not recommend Charles, Ben and the team enough! Got myself a gorgeous 4 door cooper at 27K miles! Charles had the alloys refurbed, mirror caps changed, two tyres replaced with a fresh MOT & service all before I came to collect it the following week. Really chuffed with the London Mini experience from start to finish :)

Great Service...Hidden Gem

After being quoted an astronomical sum by a Main Dealer for a minor repair, London Mini carried out and completed the work for me today at a sensible cost and with great efficiency. On the basis of this experience 5* to London Mini & 1* to Main Dealer. Would definitely recommend

I spent ages looking at different car…

I spent ages looking at different car showroom for a 1.2 Mini, with low mileage, i came across London Mini, although they did have what i was looking for i left my details and the spec that i was after, a week later i had a call from Charles and he had found me what i was looking for. i received my new Mini yesterday (6-3-25) and i must say it is in amazing condition, Charles and his team seem to have a real passion for Mini's. i am one VERY happy customer

I havw written

I havw written. one more time seking a resolution regarding the vehicle (BD54 MXH) that I purchased from this dealership, London Mini Autos LTD, for £3,700. I am requesting a full refund due to the serious safety concerns that render the car unfit for purpose under the Consumer Rights Act 2015. This car has been the subject of many serious worries over the last few moths with the last one being that the ( the car is auto), the break went all the way down to the floor, on a live road, at a large round about that links to the motorway and a dual carriage way near death was escaped so was the death of members of the public!

Spent many months searching for the right Mini.Found London Mini online.Never on my search have I found so many absolutely beautiful Mini’s for sale.
Now the proud owner of an amazing Mini Sidewalk.

Just want to praise Charles and his…

Just want to praise Charles and his team.Took my Mini to my local Mini dealer and was presented with a repair quote for almost £4000.
A week later collected from London Mini and saved nearly £1500 to have all the same repairs carried out.
Totally professional always kept me updated on the progress of the work.I know where I’m taking my Mini next time.
