Best thing I ever invested in and yes I have a needle phobia!

3 years ago I was booked to go in for a Mortons Neuroma open surgery operation with a local private clinic in Leicestershire. I chickened out last minute when I heard that recovery time was off your feet (no driving) for 3 months. I worked full time, had to commute every day plus I was getting married in 3 months so couldn't be incapacitated for that long. And there were no guarantees it would work and also the probability of developing a stump neuroma which basically put me off getting it done completely.
So over time I researched other options and came across Cryosurgery - a new non-invasive treatment at London Podiatry Centre. It was a procedure much revered by sports professionals - so I thought it must be good if it had that backing.
To be totally transparent, I have a HUGE needle phobia and really wasn't invested in this procedure at all having had a cortisone injection as an interim option 3 years earlier. However Cryosurgery had no down time - it was non-invasive, had a good success rate, no general anesthetic and I could walk out of the procedure straight after so what did I really have to loose?
The clinic staff were fantastic - talked me through the costs - a lot more affordable than open surgery and gave me heaps of information and just took me through everything with great patience.
I can't lie, I still hated the idea of a needle - the initial anesthetic needle flipped me out and then 20 minutes later my foot went numb and the rest was a walk in the park excuse the pun. I was also being treated for two neuroma's on one foot which doubled my anxiety, but Ron McCulloch (the Podiatrist) who performed the procedure was very understanding and I walked out of the clinic an hour later feeling relieved it wasn't anywhere as bad as I had envisioned it to be. Minimal pain, more discomfort - it was all phobia stress for me.
In the days following there was initial swelling - to be expected, but minimal pain - in fact it was more discomfort than pain. I was driving by the end of the week and after I got fitted for orthotics I was able to scramble around cobbled historic streets on a holiday that I really thought I'd never be able to do. 3 months later I got the all clear that things were settling down well and no further treatment required. The pain I had experienced for all those years previously that stopped me from working out, walking places and enjoying life had gone.
I'm no fan of needles at all - a complete wuss to be fair, but I'd get this done again in a heartbeat if I needed to.
Honestly cant recommend this procedure enough - best thing I've had done and the team were extremely professional and helpful through the whole journey. THANK YOU !!!!

The London Podiatry Centre - Cryosurgery

Thank you, Mr. McCulloch and the team at The London Podiatry Centre, for successfully removing the pain caused by a Morton's Neuroma in my left foot through Cryosurgery.
The booking process and payment system were seamless, mainly thanks to Nina. Also responses to emails and phone calls were always prompt, professional, and courteous.
I travelled from Ireland to London in February 2026 for the procedure, having first had a Zoom consultation in 2025. Prior to that, I had spent 15 years trying every available treatment for Morton's Neuroma without success.
I returned to London in June for my follow-up appointment and to collect my new orthotics. I am delighted to report that the procedure was a complete success, and I am now pain-free and wearing shoes that haven't been used for many years.
I would highly recommend The London Podiatry Centre to anyone suffering from Morton's Neuroma.

Good consultation but awful administration

My initial consultation was very good. The constant was, clearly, knowledgeable and experienced. The information was sent to me promptly. Unfortunately the administration part of this company is chaotic. Simple questions go unanswered, numerous phone calls from me to get answers. No responsibility taken for incorrect bookings and missed appointments their end! Orthotics not sent to me, confusion their end. A frustrating company to deal with with numerous admin staff who “pass the buck”.

World class treatment and consultation

I found my consultation with Mr. Ron McCulloch very informative, professional and ‘cutting-edge’ with the equipment used for my gait analysis and the level of competency of the reporting afterwards. I found the video explanation very helpful and also the follow up advice for future actions and potential issues to be aware of. The level of detail is amazing and the recommendation for suggested shoes an added help.

I found the other staff at the practice very friendly and welcoming and my appointment ran on time and the follow-up report was punctual and professional.

Thank you for a wonderful experience from start to finish and the world class assessment that I feel I received.

I will definitely return for any further assistance should I require it.

Cryosurgery at the London Podiatry Centre…

A Morton’s neuroma in my left foot had been stubbornly resistant to all NHS treatments and privately sought physiotherapy. I was facing the prospect of some serious orthopaedic surgery as nothing else had worked, until I found the London Podiatry Centre. I was cautious as this was outside the NHS and offering treatment that does not yet have a NICE approval. Three months ago I received cryosurgery from Mr McCulloch and it has completely cured the problem. The Centre managed my care with professionalism and attention to detail. Scans and gait analysis were undertaken extreme thoroughly and the staff were kind and welcoming. I’m now back to distance walking and hill climbing without pain or difficulty. I’m delighted and would definitely recommend the LPC to other sufferers.
