Luke Stanton Carpentry Avis 7

We have a 1912 house with numerous original sash windows and two large bays for the main bedroom and living room. We had Luke round to discuss refurbishment of the bays and were impressed with his knowledge and enthusiasm. We accepted his quote and a few months later he started. This would have been November 2025. As it was cold and often wet, Luke and Liam worked in the garage having removed the sashes to refurbish them. They also cut out and replaced the sills which were rotten. It was lovely to see the quality in the splices where they had to replace other parts of the frames. We also had secondary glazing added. Eventually the putty and painting was done. The windows now look fantastic. Multiple neighbours have commented favourably on the work, some even asking if we’ve had new windows, such is the quality, we haven’t. Very happy with the work and have no hesitation in recommending Luke. Hopefully he will be back at some stage to work on the remaining sash windows.

What a craftsman!
During 2023, Luke repaired / replaced and painted every external door and window in our 17c listed farmhouse - 23 windows & 4 doors.
Where windows were beyond repair, Luke fabricated new frames in his workshop out of hardwood. Draughty doors and windows are now airtight for the first time! All the paintwork has been changed to the traditional linseed oil system, which allows the wood to breathe and will be much simpler to maintain over the coming years.
The care and sense of pride that runs throughout Luke's work is hard to find these days, but is particularly befitting to an old home like this.
We would thoroughly recommend him to anyone who values a proper job.

Luke made and installed a large new hardwood window for us, to replace a rotten one, and repaired two other windows with rot problems. He also double-glazed them with slim glazing units. This work was all done to a very high quality, easily up to listed building standards. We've asked him to come back to do more work on our other windows later this year. A real find, a seriously talented craftsman.

Luke gave good advice regarding the restoration of 3 casement windows. He repaired and painted them to a very high standard and I was pleased that he used Linseed oil paint which he recommended as being eco-friendly. Luke was very careful in erecting the scaffolding and finished the job in a timely manner. Luke will be doing some more work for us in the near future and I would not hesitate to recommed him to others.

Luke Stanton Carpentry built us a double cart shed and garage. The plans were adapted and minor changes made throughout the project. He was very amenable to suggestions we made and built it sympathetically to the existing cottage. The best materials were sourced for the budget and the carpentry work was excellent. A fast and efficient build. Would highly recommend!
