MacDroid Avis 9

Connecting FiiO JM21 digital audio player (Snapdragon 680) which runs Android to a MacBook Pro 11,5 macOS 12.7.6 and MacDroid quickly enables a connection via a good USB-C data (not just charging) cable. Then choosing 'Show in Finder' one treats the Android device as an attatched drive to manage files across devices. And a plus for me is to undertstand the file structure of the Android device. The GUI is a bit basic and improvements could be added to the user experience for those who rely on visual prompts in their workflow. But for me, MacDroid is very good. I've been using it for about 24 hours and it's done everything I wanted to do. As opposed to other Apps, some OpenSource which are very clunky.

This app is awesome! It lets me mount my Android phone as a local drive on my Mac, which makes transferring files crazy easy. The connection is rock-solid, and everything’s super fast. If you’ve got an Android and a Mac, this app is a must!

Pathetic piece of software that is not cheap. It irregularly connects my 2015 Android phone to my Macbook and then does NOT show the files unless I select Show In Finder. Then it randomly refuses to copy files (or takes so long to make a list and then states insufficient space when there is more than 130GB of spare space).

Follow up: the support EMAIL address provided in the response is INVALID.
Re 1. the data/power cable has worked flawlessly since new.
2. The disconnections occur randomly. Yesterday, I tried to copy a large number of small files (less than 300MB) and I had 4.3 GB of free space and MacDroid stated there was insufficient space. I tried to copy the files to another drive with more free space and after waiting ages for indexing, I got the same error. I eventually had to restart my 2021 MacBook M1 Pro and Xiaomi 15 Ultra phone to complete the transfer - but Why???
3. Android File TRansfer is uninstalled because it does not work in Mac OS 13.6.6
4. Using ADB or MTP makes no difference to random file copying stopping.

MacDroid rocks for my shots. Phone or camera pics show in Finder, edit ‘em easy. Wi-Fi’s cool, USB’s lightning. It’s a no-brainer for us Android-Mac shutterbugs!

With MacDroid, transferring files between my Mac and Android devices feels effortless - no frustration, no delays, just smooth, stress-free sharing that actually works. I was glad to see that it also works with my Oculus headset without needing any extra setup.

I was worried about buying a Galaxy S25 because it wasn’t compatible with my MacBook Pro, but MacDroid saved the day! I can easily transfer files over Wi-Fi between my phone and laptop. It's fast, reliable, and has made my device transition smooth - totally recommend it! 🤘

The software does not work on either my Huawei or Samsung phone, to connect with my Macbook Air. The support I have had could be called frustrating at best, as the responses I have received lack clarity and adequate information to address the issues. I am requesting a refund. If something changes I will revise this review.
