Best instructor
Best instructor! I had a great time at the course thanks to him. Lot of good energy, patience, Nd knowledge! Very recommended!
Rey is awesome!
I absolutely loved taking Rey's. He was really encouraging and broke things down simply, making everything feel attainable. I would recommend his class to anyone. The 3 hours went by really quickly every week!
I also like the tech free class! (Before we had to go all-tech...)

Mike was a great teacher and provided us with great examples and explanations as to why things are the way they are. One thing I'd ask him to improve upon though is email responsiveness.
Joe was nice and dedicated
GRE @ MPrep with Jerry Alexander
I took the GRE class with Jerry Alexander which was instrumental in my success on the test. Under his guidance I scored a 160/170 in Verbal & 165/170 in Quant and later went on to secure an admit in my dream school (MS in CS at NYU). Jerry is a great mentor, always available after classes to clear doubts and also ensured that the classes were interactive and interesting. Long after the classes were over I have reached out to him multiple times to get my essays reviewed, which he gladly did. His honest and insightful feedback has helped me to be draft more concise and impactful essays. A great guide to foster confidence and inculcate required skills!
The GRE classes at MPrep are very structured, focussed on strategies to crack the test by helping develop a mindset to understand how the test works and adopt approaches to solve problems in the least possible time with maximum accuracy. After a gap of about 7 years in education, the GRE classes helped me to quickly get back in the habit of regular studies. The course is organised in form of weekly planners to help maintain the pace of preparation through repetition of topics. Being a busy professional a pre-baked plan enabled me to jump in the practice without much fore-thought on how to manage my calendar for robust prep. From my personal experience I can guarantee along with the instructors advice, the 5lb book is all that is needed to score high on both the verbal and quant sections. I strongly recommend MPrep inorder to conquer the GRE test.
Reed's class is a must
I took Reed Arnold's 9-week GMAT class and it was excellent. He somehow manages to make studying for the GMAT not just interesting but pretty fun. He's hilarious, incredibly smart, and really understands how adults learn. He was also super realistic about the fact that most of us were also working full-time jobs, so he helped us understand where we needed to focus our attention and what topics we didn't need to spend as much time on.
The Best
Richard Wright is an incredible teacher. He is able to quickly analyze your strengths and weaknesses, and then tailors his lessons accordingly.

I had a great GRE experience with Tyler Johnson! I'm a slow learner especially when it comes to math, but Tyler was very patient with me and he helped me through a lot. I felt comfortable asking 'stupid questions' and he reassured me that there is no such thing as stupid questions. Tyler is very caring when it comes to having his students reach their goal. I did got into my dream program and all thanks to him! I highly recommended Tyler if want to have the score that you need. Tyler is a great teacher, and he makes GRE fun and not as boring as you thought it would be!
Fantastic online and text resources
Fantastic online and text resources. Richard Wright was an excellent teacher as well, it is clear he is a master of the material and was able to communicate complex problems in simple terms.

I took the Man Prep GMAT course with Daniel Child. He is an excellent instructor who has a genuine passion for "problem solving" types of questions. In class he brought a great level of energy to keep us all engaged and truly went above and beyond to answer questions outside of class (be it after class or via email). The course is very well designed to first teach you all the basic concepts you need to know and then learn tricks that you can apply to the test.

I had an excellent experience with my LSAT prep course, taught by Scott Miller. He was honest, practical, fun, and helpful. He gave me the confidence I needed and the support that helped me on the most challenging aspects of the test. My LSAT score improved by NINE points and helped me get into my top choice law school, plus a T14 that I thought wasn’t even possible! I highly recommend this program!
Great experience - high value and a huge help for my studying
I highly recommend Manhattan Prep's course for anyone taking the GMAT. I took Reed Arnold's class and have noticed a significant increase in my abilities to comprehend and solve problems on a timed basis. Reed's strategies go beyond the content in the material; they focus on how the test makers devise problems and how to consistently overcome common issues and traps through logical analysis. From my experience, this way of reasoning is required for high scores, so I appreciated his consistent teaching of these methods. I continue to study after the class' conclusion, but gained a lot of value by learning from Reed.
I also thought Manhattan Prep's materials were well thought out and easy to use; the online portal, practice tests, course materials, and homework problem explanations are all clearly connected and provide more context than the standalone Official Guide.
Manhattan Prep a MUST for GMAT studying
Manhattan Prep has been the most thorough course I have taken to prep for a standardized test. I have taken other companies for the SAT and this by far makes me feel the most prepared. Also shout out to Danny Child, our instructor, who was amazing at teaching our class. He was knowledgable, engaging, and always willing to answer any questions. So happy I had him as my course instructor. He went above and beyond in our class and always lended additional help even when he did not have to. Highly recommend.
Takes all the leg work out of studying
I just wrapped up my GMAT class with Daniel Child and I couldn't recommend the program and Daniel more! Manhattan Prep has more resources and tools available than you could ever hope for and Daniel makes sure you know how to get the most out of all of them. He is great at breaking everything down from how to study, what to study and teaches the content in a matter of fact way that never feels intimidating.
Richard Wright's Gmat class was…
Richard Wright's Gmat class was fantastic. Richard does an outstanding job teaching the material. Richard was enthusiastic and positive the entire time which made grappling tough material easier. He has a natural ability to break down difficult questions and topics and explain them in a clear and concise way.
I would be more than happy to recommend him to anyone considering taking the GMAT.
GMAT course with Richard Wright
I would highly recommend the Manhattan Prep GMAT course with Richard Wright. Richard was an excellent instructor - he was highly engaging and explained the material in an approachable way. He had an inclusive teaching style and always encouraged participation from all students in the class. This course equipped me with both GMAT content and effective test-taking strategies to significantly improve my official score.
Excellent Program and Instructor
I would highly recommend Manhattan Prep! Homework was very structured and helpful as it covered all topics. The program was so helpful and Richard Wright was an excellent instructor! Always receptive to questions and made sure to engage every student in class. Went through problems in depth so that everyone had a good understanding of the method.
GMAT class with Daniel Child
GMAT class with Daniel Child
I took a GMAT class with Danny and it was great. Danny is a great teacher and made the material very accessible. He brought the perfect level of energy to keep us engaged after the workday, but also didn't make us feel like we were being forced to interact and keep our energy levels up if we had a long day. He did his best to make everyone feel comfortable speaking up in the class and coaxed people out of their shells so that everyone was participating. He went above and beyond to stay after class and answer questions, stay connected to us via email, and even gave us a mini-lesson on some subjects that weren't in the formal curriculum but that we had highlighted as areas of interest. He also is very honest when giving out advice when it comes to what you should be focusing on when it comes to studying - something I really appreciated, instead of a canned answer that doesn't add much value.
My only negative for the class has to do with the content itself, which isn't a criticism of the teaching. I started studying independently as a bit of a warm-up before taking the test. Looking back, I think that it would have been more financially effective to work with a tutor on specific areas that I could have used help on, instead of doing this class that started from square one when it came to concepts. However, I appreciated that the class provided structure to my studying, a wealth of materials, and certain tips and tricks about the GMAT that I otherwise would not have gotten. If you think that you have a pretty firm grasp on the basic concepts that are tested in the GMAT, consider taking a practice test first and then decide if you want to take the class or save money and work with a tutor.
Cat Powell is the reason why I succeeded
My 5-star rating is singlehandedly credited to the quality of Cat Powell's teaching. To name a few of her most noteworthy qualities as a GRE instructor:
- Patience: Cat has this in abundance. She is remarkably understanding of each student's unique pace of learning and is able to tailor the weekly course to ensure nobody feels unchallenged or left behind
- Expertise: It was clear to me from day one that Cat was a highly skilled instructor, not just in the exam that we were studying to take but in teaching in general. Her tone of voice, preparation for class, and offline support were consistently professional -- not to mention she is so incredibly intelligent and astute (but in a way that never makes you feel like you aren't)!
- Commitment: By far what makes Cat stand out. She is always quick to respond to email (or to provide transparency when she cannot), thorough and thoughtful in her responses, and eager to help regardless of the volume of questions asked (and believe me, there were a lot)
I truly have nothing negative to say about Cat's course - and wholeheartedly believe that I could not have succeeded in this exam without her. She is so great that I feel she should extend her talents and reach to beyond simply teaching courses (which I believe she is, in supporting the learning and development of other MPrep instructors). Regardless, Cat is one of the greatest teachers I've ever had, in school and out, and I would happily take any of her other classes again (even if I had no intention of taking the exam - she's that good)!
If you are planning on taking the GMAT…
If you are planning on taking the GMAT classes with Manhattan Prep, I would highly recommend taking Daniel Child's (aka Danny) class. Danny is a great instructor and has a way of getting everyone to participate in his class. He has a passion for teaching and explains the material in a way that is easy to understand. Danny cares about his students and their progress.
