Marco Lezzerini Avis

Marco is a fantastic coach. He carefully curates the coaching needed as per the student's requirement, chess rating, experience and he conveys them clearly.

I'm working with Marco on improving my (novice) chess skills. Marco always reviews my recent games and tailors the lesson to the issues that he saw.
This makes the lessons engaging (I can recall what I was thinking when making those mistakes) and directly applicable to my games (previously, I would make the same mistakes over and over).
Also, I can see that my rating slowly started climbing up:-)

Marco is a fantastic chess coach and I highly recommend him. What impressed me most is how much he tailors my lessons to me, specifically. He reviews some of my recent games before the lesson to identify topics for discussion, and even finds other games with similar concepts to help improve the understanding. I look forward to continuing my lessons with him.

Excellent teacher. I enjoy working with Marco a lot. He has a lot of knowledge and self-developed tricks and tips that helped me a lot. He also gives you homework, which I personally like, because it helps me improve faster. I have a lot more fun with chess since I’ve started to work with Marco as having a guiding hand will always be more fun than doing everything alone :) all in all: great experience.

Amazing teacher and person, very knowledgeable and fun to engage with

Marco is an outstanding chess coach. I’m thrilled with the work we’ve been doing to improve my chess game. All his feedback on my games has been clear, highly specific and easy to implement in follow-up games. Between each lesson I’m given homework which has really helped improve my strategical thinking. Im enjoying chess a lot more now, and watching my play improve in real-time. Dont hesitate to reach out to Marco if you feel stuck or plateaued in chess (as I did). Beginning these lessons was the best move I made since I started playing years ago.

Consigliatissimo.

Marco is a very professional and skilled teacher. His lessons are crystal clear, always well structured, and thoroughly documented. He has a genuine ability to convey his passion and love for the game, adapting smoothly to students of every level. On top of his strong expertise, he is also a genuinely pleasant person to talk to, which makes every lesson even more enjoyable. I recommend him without hesitation.

Marco is an excellent tutor. Friendly, professional and, as others have pointed out, does a considerable amount of preparation for every lesson he gives. I have just started playing again having given up chess about 40 years ago. Marco has given me the confidence that I can again play to a decent level despite getting on a bit.

Professionale, preparato, disponibile e gentile.

Consigliatissimo!

Marco is an amazing coach. He is passionate, well-prepared for every lesson, and takes an individual approach that makes each session feel customized rather than generic. From the start, I could tell that he truly tailors the lessons to my specific needs.

As an adult learner starting from scratch, I’ve felt nothing but encouraged and supported. Marco has been incredibly patient and makes learning both challenging and enjoyable. I’m already seeing progress and feel more confident with each lesson.

I’m very happy to be his student and plan to continue learning with him. If you're looking for a coach who genuinely cares about your growth and adapts to your pace, Marco is the one. Don’t look any further he’s the real deal.

Marco is an incredible chess coach!! In each lesson, he is well prepared and organized, while also incredibly flexible and accommodating to what best helps his students learn. There have been plenty of times that I’m stuck on an aspect of a position or concept, where he’s been happy to slow down and help me understand it in depth. He also takes time to help his students apply the concepts that he’s teaching through many methods, both during lessons and through homework. Additionally, he finds a great balance between introducing new concepts and continuing to work on ones that have already been introduced.

I’ve also greatly appreciated his insights and openness discussing the psychological aspects of chess. Not only has he helped me identify areas of my thinking process during games that influence my play, but he’s also offered suggestions on how to work on them. He’s even tailored the exercises we do in lessons to directly work on them! I’ve been feeling major shifts in my play, where I’m becoming far more confident, consistent, focused, and resilient during my games!

Beyond that, Marco’s passion for chess and supporting his students could not be more obvious! I truly feel that he’s invested in my progress. I've deeply enjoyed lessons with him and always look forward to the next one! :)

Insegnante molto preparato, simpatico, professionale e competente. Consigliatissimo

Very good coach. Has serious chess skills

I’ve been attending lessons with Marco for over a year now, and it’s made a huge difference in my chess. He’s very adaptable and always takes on feedback, adjusting lessons to match what I need at the time. He’s especially good at explaining chess themes clearly and helping me apply them in my games. I also appreciate that he goes over games I’ve played, helping me understand what I could have done differently without making it feel overwhelming. Highly recommend if you’re looking to improve your chess in a structured but flexible way.

Great lesson as always! Marco always comes with thoughtful preparation and it's enjoyable to speak with someone so passionate about chess. Looking forward to continue working together!

Molto professionale e appassionato.

I had a very instructive experience with Marco, we had 10 classes, he not only analysed my games, but also provided a training plan which definitely helped me improve my game.
