SCAM! Do not become a member or book a session
I used to love this place when I first became a member in 2019, but unfortunately, my experience has turned sour. They have stolen sessions and money from me and refuse to respond to any of my emails or phone calls. This includes Lauren Skipper, the Regional Manager, and Joe Szablewski, the Owner. I strongly advise you to stay away from this establishment. The leadership is poor, and they consistently avoid addressing the truth. If you face similar issues, consider consulting a lawyer to reclaim what you're owed. This includes the Bellevue location as it is operated and owned by the same people. I was promised a call back for my missing sessions and was told sessions disappear often and they have to go back and track what happened to it. Thank God I recorded that conversation with the manager at Bellevue! They are SCAMMERS! They steal your credits and avoid you when you call them out on it. Also, the turnover rate is high at Massage Envy. They can not keep their employees hired. I kept in contact with some of the therapists I liked to avoid the rude management and staff at the desk. The admired workers are the therapists. There is several reviews from ex employees that confirmed massage envy biggest $$$ profit is from unused sessions and massage envy steals from the customers all the time. Please find another business to get your facials and massages done. Massage envy is a WASTE of your money. Don't be fooled by the prices. Just keep scrolling and reading all the bad reviews.

REVIEW BASED ON LOCATION & SERVICE
I have used the D’iberville location a hand full of times. I like the massage therapists and feel the customer Svc; starting from corporate, to management and assistant manager, is a disservice to this industry.
The location is not clean, customer service relays the horrific breakdown of their business.
I Think it would be best to always keep the customer happy.
A customer of several years or better, would show that repeat Svc. Is based on therapist and not their customer service.
Destiny, Not only is rude on the phone, but should go to customer service training to save Customer Relations instead of going out of her way to upset them, thus creating a frustrated consumer and also loss of a consumer for life.
I am walking away from at least $700 of credits and services and TIPPING capability to their therapist, who are the heavy lifters.
These girls, and even the regional manager have no idea what it takes to be a team.
If you have credit with them, I would recommend calling Gulfport. And I say this because they will bend over backwards to accommodate, and the therapist are just as good if not better on most cases.
This company does not have the capability of keeping the good ones, So the turnover is quite high.
There are many other great locations to get a massage on the Gulf Coast, and eventually, if you like a therapist from massage envy, you could find them at any other place if not at the same time because they don’t pay there enough money.
I’m sure this is just another story that many people have not taken the time to tell, but I urge anybody that wants a massage, a facial or anything else that they have to offer to Find a company that treats their people and customers properly.
I was told that before I deployed to…
I was told that before I deployed to Japan. They canceled my membership and I was told my 9 hours massage would still be available when I got back from Japan. I scheduled a massage and was notified 5 hours before my appointment that my hours were expired. They then notified me that they would be able to get my hours back if I reactivate my account, if I deploy again I would be stuck in the same position with more hours collected. I find this to be obnoxious and hard for military members cannot get any assistance.
SCAMMERS FALSELY ADVERTISING THEIR PRICES TO LURE CUSTOMERS IN
Wish I had seen these reviews before booking! Unfortunately you have to leave at least one star to post a review. So I too have booked a 60 minute massage for 75 USD online. They text today to confirm my appointment tomorrow at 11am, I replied yes. A few hours later, they have called me and left a voice message saying the online price I booked was for members only... and that my massage will actually be 125 USD!
A HUGE INCREASE!!!!
I called them back and asked them to honour the price that I booked the massage for and they would not. I said they are falsely luring people to book massages at cheaper rates and they were not backing down at all. I said I would be reporting them to the local Ombudsman and they just replied "if that's what you want to do, go ahead". Absolute joke of a company who are falsely advertising their business. AVOID AVOID AVOID.... SCAMMERS!!!! I'll be checking that they don't take any money off my credit card as you have to use it to book the appointment....
Massage envy... lol ... not a chance!
I am extremely disappointed with the…
I am extremely disappointed with the service at Massage Envy. I scheduled a massage for myself and my mom over a month ago, only to have it rescheduled a week ago due to staffing issues. Now, I’ve been informed that another staff member is sick and our appointment cannot even be found in your system.
This level of disorganization is absolutely unacceptable. Not only has this caused major inconvenience, but it also completely ruined what was supposed to be a relaxing experience. Your inability to manage appointments and staffing is beyond frustrating.
I would not recommend Massage Envy to anyone looking for a reliable and professional massage experience. Save your time and money and go elsewhere.
Hayley at the front desk is rude, unprofessional and used my card on file for a charge I do not agree with and did not authorize
Hayley was completely rude and unprofessional to deal with. Buyer beware if you sign up with a package or membership here! I came for six months of prenatal sessions, was walked through scheduling in person by a staff member to make sure everything was taken care of and booked properly, and then ended up randomly told that I needed to pay out-of-pocket after my session today. I explained to her politely that everything is prepaid for and this doesn't make any sense, to which she effectively told me that I should understand the math and it's my problem and not theirs even though she can see in the system who helped me and that they were the ones to book me when all I asked for was to book the sessions I paid for. Why would I book more sessions than were in my package? It literally makes no sense. She refused to be accountable and was not remotely apologetic. Not the kind of experience anyone should be paying a premium for, especially not nine months pregnant. On top of all of this, I now didn't have the opportunity to properly space out my sessions until giving birth, which was the entire purpose of me being a customer here in the first place, and why I personally asked for professional assistance with the booking process, all to be treated this way and stuck footing a bill and having no care for the last month of my pregnancy.
I will NEVER be back and am appalled at the customer service here. Thought I would give them a chance due to proximity of where I live, but now I see why everyone I know avoids this place and goes to small, local businesses or private masseuses instead. Hope the owner or manager has the opportunity to see this, as you are losing customers frequently due to the rudeness and incompetence of your desk staff. There was zero attempt made to right what happened today. It costs a lot less to retain a customer than to acquire a new one. I suppose this lesson has been lost upon Hayley, as she very clearly does not care about the customer experience or treat this business like her own in anyway whatsoever.
Horrible customer service
So on Friday, July 5th my daughter and I pretty much had a horrendous experience with Massage Envy and their reception staff at the Flemington, New Jersey location. It was very disappointing seeing as though this was only our second time there in five years as it is just a treat for us.
I made an appointment at the Easton Catasauqua location a few weeks ago, for Saturday the sixth, but didn’t realize that there was a scheduling discrepancy. So my daughter called up and changed the location to Friday the instead in Flemington. I know now that the receptionist at Flemington, Megan failed to let her know that the same exact facial appointment that was made in Easton would now be $100 more due to the “location” and that is without tip. Megan also stated that if we had proceeded to make the appointment in New York City that it would be $200 more.
When I set up the appointment in Easton, I specifically asked for an estimate which would have been $70 a piece , $140 total and then a 20% tip of course. so once we arrived yesterday in Flemington I was told it would be $250 total and that’s without a tip.
Needless to say all of the money I brought along, went to only one appointment. I let my daughter go and just did without, which is perfectly fine. My point of this is not to gain sympathy. It’s just to raise awareness that when the staff at Massage Envy reschedule an appointment, it’s IMPERATIVE that you mention a “Oh by the way” there will be a steep, significant price increase. I even asked Megan if she mentioned the fact that it would be $100 more to my daughter and she plainly stated “no,” which I’m sure is all on camera. She did however, bring out a pamphlet and repeatedly, probably more than four times, trying to push a membership package on us for $85.00, that would be the better way to go to avoid this type of “problem” in the future, and that’s on camera too I’m sure.
Not for nothing… The facial and massage staff is lovely, but like I said we have been there twice now and both experiences were pretty much ruined and not relaxing because all the staff does the whole time they are massaging and giving you a facial is talk to you which is extremely stressful. But I guess that would be a whole different review.
Horrible customer service! a
I made an appointment at your Jenkintown PA location. The appointment was yesterday at 4pm. I had an emergency that came up, so I couldn’t make the appointment. I fully understood that I should still pay for the appointment, but I only made the appointment because I had a gift card. I spoke with someone there last night that said I could bring the gift card in on Monday and they would let me use that to pay for the appointment. I called this morning several times & there was no answer. I finally get a hold of someone & they put me right on hold. I was on hold for over 15 minutes 2 times. I finally get a hold of a manager and she tells me that she can’t do it because it’s the end of a pay period or something. It makes no sense that in less than 24 hours from the time I spoke to someone on Sunday now all the sudden I can’t use it. I’ve never heard of such a thing. I’ve already left several bad reviews, but I’m willing to take them down if someone can resolve this issue. I have the gift card and would like to use it to pay for the missed appointment. I’m willing to physically take it to the store. I was going to use it to pay for the massage. I don’t understand why I can’t use it to pay for the missed appointment.
Warrington PA Massage Envy
Warrington PA Massage Envy. Try to cancel. Just try. They don't make it easy. Ive never been able to find a great massage therapist at Massage Envy. Interestingly enough I contacted a local spa that offers massage therapy and their price is competitive with ME. Once I can figure out the ME cancellation policy, I'M OUT!
I simply wanted to check a gift card…
I simply wanted to check a gift card that I had received as a gift for my wedding in 2022. I was told by the front desk AND the manager that they couldn't verify the balance due to safety and fraud issues. They said the only way to get the balance was to drive out there. I had no intentions of using this gift card as I had been there once before and just wasn't a fan. I called a random store in IL and they gave me the balance right away. Please make this make sense?!
Maryland locations
I’m located in Maryland and have tried two locations with the hope that I find the gem that I feel comfortable with. I’ve had 3 massages at the Crofton location- Twice I was a client of the same person. She smelled like weed and smoke- I could smell like a used cigarette smell when face down. I had to initiate conversation both times. Massage was good however she spent like 30 minutes on my neck, when my low back and hips were what I needed to be the focus. The other massage was un remarkable except for the fact that she said to me when I checked in- If you want firm pressure then we need to cancel because I don’t do firm. 😫 The second shop I tried was in Severna Park- The massage therapist tried to convince me to buy into her new business- Clearly a pyramid scheme- In Credibly uncomfortable. I have one more location to try and If it is the same as these locations - I’ll cancel my membership. 🫤
Just say NO
I had an appointment for a treatment. The esthetician stopped after about 5 minutes saying she couldn’t continue because my skin had started to bleed. I was mortified. I’ve had treatments at other places before and never experienced this. When I got dressed and was leaving she was on the phone with the manager. She said the manager would call me then next day. The manager did not. I emailed and called over the next few weeks and never received a call back. I had been given a gift card for Massage Envy. I tried another location. This time I was the one who stopped the treatment. The esthetician was using an electric back massager. I had already told her once that it was too much pressure and it hurt but she said it was supposed to and kept going. After a few minutes I told her to stop and I wanted to leave. I was not charged for this appointment. The next day I had bruises on my back. Big blue black bruises. So now I have a useless gift card. I’ve tried to reach a Massage Envy corporate office. The phone number and email I found searching online did not work. I called one of the local locations and had no success getting the correct information from them. DO NOT
PATRONIZE ANY LOCATION AND DO NOT PURCHASE A GIFT CARD FOR ANYONE YOU KNOW.
I was at the Cromwell Ct Massage Envy …
I was at the Cromwell Ct Massage Envy Jenn was my massage person. She was very knowledgeable and great BUT the rudeness of two employees in the back hallway outside the door ruined the experience of the massage. Jenn kept apologizing for the noise from them talking to slamming doors It was terrible and I won’t be going back Out of the 90 minutes the were out there for 45 minutes ABSOLUTELY so unprofessional there are no words
The receptionist at the Tenleytown…
The receptionist at the Tenleytown location hung up on me, on account that "i was irritating her" because no one had explained to me all the restrictions and hidden cost in the annual membership I was induced to sign. She did not even tell me if the appointment was made. Just hung up and then refused to pick up the phone leaving me uncertain as to whether I did, or did not, have an appointment. Finally, I called from a different number to get an answer.
Beware of the membership. It is not as straighforward as they claim it is .
The worst place to do business with
The worst place to do business with. Their cancellation policies don’t make sense. They don’t allow for emergencies. And they’re unreliable because I canceled an appointment before their 24 hour rule, and it was never canceled. On top of that, I’ve wanted to cancel my membership altogether and they won’t allow you without some crazy fee.
Was charged DOUBLE!!!
I booked an hour message at the Massage Envy on Shelbyville Rd. in Louisville KY. I was told that the hour massage would cost $80. My appointment was scheduled from 6:30-7:30 and the therapist did not come get me out of the waiting room until 6:40. So the message did not start until 6:45 and it ended at 7:17. Then the therapist told me that if I was not tipping him in cash that i needed to Venmo or Cash App the tip. My card was on file so they charged my card when I was leaving. Later I looked at my account and they charged me $137.80 for a 35 minute massage. Not counting the tip that I had already left the therapist. When I called and asked why they charged me so much they said that because I was not a member the $80 massage was not an option even though that is what I was told when I booked the massage. They told me that there was nothing they could do about that except maybe give me a free hand exfoliating during my next massage. So I ended up paying $167.80 for less than a 40 minute message. Almost double what I was quoted for the massage. Extremely frustrating and 100% not worth half of what I paid.
I was discriminated against my bringing…
I was discriminated against my bringing my service dog with me to my Massage Envy appointment today at the Toco Hills Atlanta, Ga. I followed the guides established by the ADA in speaking to the manager at that location who treated me in an embarrassing and humiliating manner. I will never return there again until remedial action is taken. I intend to file a suit with the DOJ, Civil Rights Division.
Venice
Venice, FL - I loved my Massage Therapist but the office staff are horrible!!! I signed up for auto pay thru my checking account. Every month for the past 3 months THEIR system had a failure. My account was just fine. In fact my auto insurance has auto pay w/ no problems. So each time I paid cash. In Jan I paid the front desk at the beginning and she went home and so the front desk associate did NOT BELIEVE ME THAT I PAID!!! I told her to run the security tape. The next 2 months their ACH withdraws FAILED again so I paid cash each time asking for a receipt. Then this month a new manager was their and she tells me I NEVER PAID AND DEMANDED PROOF and said it was MY FAULT THE ACH DID NOT GO THRU. I DID GET UPSET BECAUSE IT WAS ALL NOT TRUE!!!! SHE THEN SAID I WAS "MAKING A SCENE" and threw me out of the store. She basically accused me of lying and thievery. I was coming to relax and instead got all stressed out by these people. (every month the office staff ADMITTED there were problems with the ACH withdraws and I WAS NOT THE ONLY CUSTOMER WITH THIS PROBLEM!) She never bothered to see that what I was saying was true! She was heavy-handed and humiliated me to boot. Wow. Scary that they are handling people's finances in this manner. How long are they going to stay in business?
Terrible company terrible massages even…
Terrible company terrible massages even worse customer service. Never was I able to get an actual appointment except for odd times in the middle of the day during the week I work full-time and it was just never going to work out. I wanted to cancel, but they informed me that my 28 credits would not be refunded back. I would have to use all 28 credits, so I allowed it to keep rolling over and hopes that I was in somehow get an appointment, the pandemic happened and they closed after they closed. They stopped charging me when I requested them to stop charging for a monthly membership I wasn’t able to use. Eventually they were able to reopen and yelp said that they would open in December. I went back and they had closed indefinitely and it was now a Verizon store , one of the owners of that store in San Ramon California owns the Brentwood location. I tried to call the Brentwood location they told me to call corporate corporate. They told me that I had to contact the Brentwood location and it was back-and-forth until nothing was concluded I was out $2700 And a lot of wasted time do not trust this
Very good massages and very nice staff…
Very good massages and very nice staff and environment. Of course not all masseuses are equal, as I prefer a firm massage and only some can make that happen, so I tend to book my favorites when I can.
