As a non-american high school student this website helped me tremendously at learning organic chemistry at an olympiad level. Everything is structured clearly and it builds a strong base for organic chemistry

I used Mastering Organic Chem to supplement my class and it was an immense help in excelling in the class. The review questions were so helpful when reviewing for tests and the final exam. I highly recommend it!

MOC is the most useful and helpful learning tool for OCHEM 1 & 2! Topics that were hard for me to understand at first were made simple through the step-by-step mechanics and explanations. The extra practice/flashcard quizzes were a great supplement to my university's material. The website is easy to use, and for only 10 dollars a month, my grades definitely appreciated it. I highly recommend MOC!!

As everyone who has studied a related field knows, organic chemistry is something that almost everyone has to go through at some point.
The problem is that the subject is incredibly broad, and so many different rules and concepts are intertwined with one another that it can be difficult to truly understand everything without a very well-organized set of notes that lets you see the bigger picture at a glance. In my experience, even after going back to textbooks several times to understand the reasoning behind different rules, I rarely found a textbook that could answer the questions that naturally came up while studying in a simple, clear, and visual way.
Master Organic Chemistry, however, had all of that.
Whenever I was studying and found myself asking, “But why does this work this way?”, Master Organic Chemistry already seemed to have a concise and clear answer waiting for that exact question. What I especially liked about studying through the Master Organic Chemistry notes in order was the way those questions were addressed at just the right moment. It almost felt as if the author knew exactly when a reader would start wondering about something and had intentionally placed the explanation there for them.
Whether you are learning organic chemistry for the first time, reviewing it, studying it as a hobby, or trying to understand the subject as deeply as possible, I think Master Organic Chemistry is one of the best resources you can choose. Considering how much value and effort has gone into it, the price I paid honestly felt far too low.
I would like to express my sincere appreciation to the author of Master Organic Chemistry for creating such an excellent resource, and for continuing to improve and refine it even now.

MOC was one of the most helpful websites I’ve used while studying for organic chemistry. I fully recommend it while using its free and paid for service, with it’s use of language and everything involved has always been something I’ve always found extremely useful to clear any questions I’ve had up.

This website is great because it explains the concepts like a storyline which I found to be really helpful, little funny jokes here and there. In the world of AI, please use this well crafted resource made with a true desire of helping students.

Really insightful and informative

I had to retake Orgo 2 at my university because I did very poorly the first time. The course material is difficult and fast-paced, but finding this site made my life so much easier. I used the flashcards & practice problems along with the reaction & mechanism guides in my daily studying. I got an A when I retook! Thanks to James for these valuable resources!

I took Organic Chemistry 2 over summer semester. While I didn't receive the grade I wanted, there were other factors at play that affected my classes during the summer semester, but I still passed and ultimately that was most important to me. I do believe that MOC greatly helped me understand the different mechanisms, reagents, and all things we covered over the summer. I truly believe it helped me understand these concepts at a deeper level and I would definitely recommend it to any chemistry student.

This website was one of the BEST resources I used for organic chemistry 1. My favorite part is how James doesn't neglect to review the basics and fundamentals. As a result, reactions are explained by logic and intuition. His explanations are concise and easy to understand. You get your bang for your buck!

This website was the GOAT for helping me through OChem 1 & 2. James, the website's creator, put an impressive amount of work and love into every chapter. Every lesson is easy to digest and understand, along with a sense of humor throughout it all, making the learning that much more engaging. Thanks again to James for his clear dedication to Organic Chemistry and spreading his knowledge to other people throughout the world. If you're having trouble understanding your OChem lectures or textbook, Master Organic Chemistry is a wonderful supplemental resource (S Tier) that I can't recommend more.

These organic chemistry resources are amazing! The PDF cheat sheets are probably my favorite feature. Furthermore, the developer, James, is incredibly involved and it's clear he cares about the quality of his resources.

I'm going back to school after nearly a decade and I wish I had MOC when I was going through undergrad the first time. I will also say it directly contributed to my A+ in the class.

I used Mastering Organic Chemistry a ton while taking ochem and it was genuinely one of the most helpful resources I found. The explanations were easy to follow and helped a lot when something from lecture was not clicking.

My biggest recommendation would be adding more acid/base ranking problems. My professor absolutely abused us with those, especially questions involving good vs. bad resonance structures and how that affects pKa. More practice with those types of questions would make the site even better.

Otherwise, I loved the site and would definitely recommend it to anyone taking organic chemistry.

This was the best learning aid I had that got me through orgo 1 and 2. The supplementary materials like the reagent guide and reaction maps explained things so that I was able to perform complicated reverse syntheses without hyperventilating. Even if you don’t join monthly, get the extra materials. They will make orgo almost pleasant. I recommend joining. The quizzes will not only prepare you for anything your prof throws at you (or the ACS), but the explanations of the answers give a great foundation for any future classes.

Great study aids and material. Affordable. Also loved the blog side explaining deeper topics of the material. Helped me tremendously in getting an A in my Organic Chem II class with a deeper dive and reaction diagrams, practice problems and the whole enchilada. I would recommend it to anyone who needs a little bit more of a boost with their classroom material like myself.
