I had Louis from M Group on behalf of Openreach attend my property today to install my fibre optic broadband
Louis was in contact ahead of arrival to confirm his ETA, and arrived on schedule, he was friendly and professional
Upon arrival, Louis explained he may not be able to complete the full installation today due to local infrastructure but would do his best, however after after a further inspection and a few phone calls, Louis explained he could complete it in full, it would just mean a bit of extra work so he and I would be hanging out for longer than expected and I of course had no issue with hosting such a polite engineer for a while longer
Louis successfully completed the full installation and I cannot thank him enough for going above and beyond to do so to ensure my broadband could switch today as planned
I can only hope that the rest of the engineers completing these works are as brilliant as Louis!

On the 14/7/26.
My Waterboard ( yorkshire water) made an emergency call out to these guys! As I had no cold water supply, and the job was bigger than thought.
So the 2 guys turn up: RICHARD BENSON & KIERAN TAYLOR. Total GENTS! wow, I had been so stressed all day because of no WATER! the first thing they said to me was...WE WILL get your water back on, I felt instantly re- assured! And they did.
The had to dig up a part of next door grass and dig out the small drain, ( as yorkshire water located the stop tap in nxt doors garden)
They put up caution boards all around! And set about the job, a new tap was fitted! And my water was back on! And the work on next doors lawn, was so neat and tidy!

So I was helpful and allow Morrisons telegraph utilities to put a pole up at my property. It ended up with them knocking my broadband connection off and the engineer couldn’t solve it. He said don’t worry it will be back on today. When the engineer left he said I’ll phone you back in 30 minutes to make sure you’ve been able to arrange open reach to solve their mistake (why I had to organise this was odd) so he never rang my back so twice I phone M Group who assured me the site manager would contact me still no phone call. They come across as helpful professionals until they make mistakes and then your stuffed they don’t solve their mistake mess they make. Next time they need to come on my land it will not happen. My advice is don’t give them a mm they will abuse your kindness just as they have to me. Very very unhappy.

One of their drivers, Ernie from the telecom division decided to cut into my lane leaving a roundabout (which he didn't need to do as the road is a dual carriageway). I had to take evasive action to avoid a collision which I almost did, but he took my wing mirror of my car. The arrogant driver claimed he did nothing wrong and insisted I was somehow mile back on the roundabout, which I obviously wasn't. He didn't give me clear details on who was responsible for insuring the vehicle (which I still needed although I wasn't planning on pursuing an insurance claim).

To cut a long story short, in trying to get the relevant details, M Group decided to inform their insurer (rather than passing on the required details) who then informed my insurer (which I really didn't want), during with M Group and their insurer QBE lied saying that I'd cut into his lane (which I understand was to force things down a 50/50 liability).

The ridiculous thing is, the replacement mirror was second hand, fitted by myself, and only cost £27.

This business carry out groundworks for Yorkshire Water. 2 years ago we they fitted a new smart water meter, supposedly for us, but fitted it to my neighbour across the roads supply. This week they have fitted a smart meter to correct supply but installed it so display cannot be read by myself and they refuse to reposition. My experience is that they are a cowboy outfit and I cannot understand why YW want to use them.
