Both DW and I finding Russian course sensational. We both LOVE Natasha, the teacher.
GREAT system. Put in the time and effort and it will pay off. I am 1/5th way through and not doing enough, after 2 weeks. You can do what I have done in a week, easily.
Each mini lesson is ~5 minutes and you can go back and forward.
Use the Resources, have the cyrrillic and transliteration open.
This was purchased by my wife to learn French. There are a number of issues both technical and material presentation.
I won't go into the tech side this is purely naming conventions.
However the material presentation does need a review.
1. Came in a 7 CD set for the teaching+ 2 review Cd's with different file names for each section that are inconsistent..
2. The review CD's give a review of each of the 7 teaching CD's + a review of CD number 8. Well there isn't a CD8 not in our pack anyway!
3. The recording itself is really poor, and very muffled which makes it difficult to hear the accurate pronunciation and this makes the product effectively useless.
4. No response from the author of the product regarding poor reviews and this really sets the scene for the ethos of the company.
DO NOT PURCHASE THERE ARE MUCH BETTER PRODUCTS OUT THERE ON THE MARKET
since my last review in 2023 I have tried to immerse myself in the language listening to the news in Spanish El Mundo noticias and I can tell you that there is not a chance on its own of this, or any of these courses, making you fluent or anywhere near. The best you will get is a working knowledge of the language which will enable you to construct sentences and understand the replies but you have to live there and/or somehow have total immersion before you can be fluent.
I purchased a product as a Christmas gift which still hasn't been delivered. Quite shocking seeing this is an on-line course therefore should be automated.
I have now been directed to a third-party intermediary (John Murray Press).
Still no sign of resolution or any contact directly with Michel Thomas. Feels like a scam?
