This company performed so poorly that I actually logged into a second Gmail account just so I could leave an update.
If you haven’t read my original review, the short version is that MilitaryFares failed to notify me that my wife’s reservation had been canceled, failed to notify me that my flight had been canceled, and left me spending five hours driving and roughly $100 in diesel fuel and hours on the phone trying to sort out a mess entirely of their own making.
After all of that, I was “generously” offered $50 in compensation.
For perspective, I lost more than that just driving to the airport for a flight that no longer existed.
I informed the employee that the offer was unacceptable and spent another day and a half attempting to reach a reasonable resolution directly with the company. Every attempt was met with delays, excuses, and an apparent inability to connect me with anyone empowered to make decisions.
Eventually, I informed them that I was done playing the game. I gave them until 5:00 p.m. to resolve the issue fairly or I would initiate a chargeback for services not provided.
Funny thing happened.
The moment a credit card company became involved, MilitaryFares suddenly discovered a sense of urgency.
Unfortunately for them, the deadline came and went, so I followed through and initiated the chargeback exactly as I said I would.
At 9:30 p.m.—more than four hours after the deadline—I received a call offering $200 in compensation. I told the representative that sounded fair and informed him that I would attempt to cancel the chargeback. Thankfully, my bank allowed me to do so.
Which brings us to today.
My wife’s ticket was canceled on June 15. The refund should have been processed long ago. Yet somehow, I’m still waiting.
What I’ve learned from this experience is that customer service at MilitaryFares appears to operate on a very simple principle: your problem is not important until your bank gets involved.
So today I gave them the same ultimatum regarding the missing refund. We’ll see if they take it more seriously this time.
At this point, if I had a dying relative on the opposite side of the country and MilitaryFares offered me a free ticket to get there, I’d grab a pogo stick and start bouncing. It would probably be more reliable, and at least the pogo stick would keep me informed when it changed direction.
I like the fact we can use our service…
I like the fact we can use our service discount but dislike is when we get our confirmation time scheduled we’re immediately changed without notification.. this is not the first time this has happened before but we are trying to be patient but the inconvenience of time changes or delays are very frustrating.. please do better in this field especially with the airlines bookings.

I would never use Military Fares again.. so long as I live... and would highly recommend to anyone considering using their service avoid it as though it had the plague. Horrible experience!
