This is anything but a shed !
When we viewed our house, we noticed the large empty space at the end of the garden and thought a garden room would be ideal there. We procrastinated and sourced quotes and procrastinated some more and then spotted a board for Mode outside a house up the road that was having one built so invited them around to have a look.
The moment Joe turned up you could tell he was passionate about what his company do, we felt at ease right away, he knew what he was talking about and clearly had pride in what him and his company do, we then spent a few months going backwards and forwards with proposals and ideas (not to mention a few domestic dramas that he was very patient with), they were mostly Joe's suggestions as we knew what we wanted but couldn't quite articulate it, but he took on board what we said and his CGIs brought everything to life. He nailed it pretty much straight away. There is no hard sell, he just suggests what is and isn't possible, he gave us quotes for either end of the expense spectrum plus some in between. We went with what we thought was best and within 8 weeks his team were on site starting the work.
We cannot rave about the build team enough, they're polite, clean, tidy, friendly and absolutely bursting with ideas, suggestions and advice - everything you want from numerous tradesmen spending the thick end of 2 months at your property. The design Mode put together is very flexible and can be changed within reason during the initial build, placement of doors, windows, electrics, sockets, switches - all can be revised early into the project and some were on ours.
As the build evolves and you realise there were things that you maybe didn't think of initially they do everything in their power to provide a solution and provide clear quotes and advice - we did this and are so happy with the result. Depending on what the room is for, there maybe reason to hide technology and cables in walls for an ultra clean look - the team at Mode practically encourage this before internal walls are insulated and boarded/plastered - again we snapped their hands off at this advice and the room looks even more amazing as a result. One suggestion made was air conditioning and as I type this on 24th June 2026 in 39 degrees of heat it was an inspired suggestion and not as expensive as you think !
In summary, if you are thinking about a garden room and have the budget available but are sitting on the fence a little, I couldn't recommend speaking to Mode enough to let them bring your idea to life. Thank you to Joe, Nick, Harry, Luke, Del, Chunk and all the various associated trades that work with them - you truly have brought a pipe dream to life !
