This had me puzzled until I put it all together and found that it he simplicity of these legs added use to the tower with two spaces for shoes.

Add these legs to any tower unit for an upgraded, floor-to-ceiling look. These legs are 12.75" tall and are recessed 1" to allow for moldings.

Assembly and hanging were very simple.

Love adding some extra shelving at the bottom for shoes.
One of mine immediately collapsed and broke and the other two I turned into shelves because they seemed unstable.
These seemed weak and non supportive.
Wish there were more instructions on installation and to NOT install the hanging units until these were installed. Further, I wish there was a note to be aware of measurements if you have trim involved

Does what it’s supposed to. It’s great to have the 1” recess from the wall in the back of the legs to account for baseboards and trim
