Nice watch - aweful customer service

I bought my Mondaine automatic watch last year; I really like it so in November 2025 I bought a second (metal) strap for it. The strap arrived in December; unfortunately one of the pins was missing so I contacted customer services and eventually (after some weeks explaning the issue) they agreed to send me replacement pins. The pins finally arrived in early January, but they were the wrong pins. So after some more emails to customer services they agree to a return and refund. And this is where my sorry saga begins... They sent me a DPD return label and on 10 January 2026 I dropped by return off at my post office. DPD emailed me the receipt. After 2 days, DPD's tracking stopped updating and so after another week I tried to contact DPD customer services to find out what had happened. After trying (and failing) to use their phone/bot service, I eventually emailed DPD customer services. After a couple of weeks getting the runaround from DPD (lot of apologies, no answers) I contacted Mondaine to get them to chase DPD. I recevoed a response from Philip (who I see has been referred to in other sorry feedback on poor Mondaine customer service). He told me that it was my responsibilty to chase DPD as I had sent the package. Back to DPD, this time I copied in Philip from Mondaine. To cut a long story shorter, I am now stuck, near the end of February, with DPD telling me Mondaine needs to raise a loss report with them, Mondaine telling me I have to and basically washing their hands of the whole situation. And the result is that I am out of pocket by £75. So, if you buy anything from Mondaine, just pray it is not faulty, because their after service is appaling.

I ordered a new band for a watch as a…

I ordered a new band for a watch as a gift, but I unfortunately bought the wrong size. This company has terrible policies in place for returning due to incorrect size. The band itself cost $39, but I would only receive $23.42 in refund due to a $15.58. Ridiculous.

My wife has three Mondaine watch's

She likes the classic swiss railway design face that makes it easy to read. BUT two of the watch's have now stopped working, replacing batteries makes no difference. I think it is likely the quartz movements are second rate. So unless you just want to wear a nice looking watch and use your smartphone to tell the time. Avoid them. Buy a Seiko instead. They seem to work forever.

Totaler Abriss

Die teure Uhr lässt sich nicht mit dem wlan verbinden. Keine Antwort auf Kontaktaufnahmen. Billiges Gehäuse. Totaler Abriss! Kann ich absolut nicht weiterempfehlen, passt nicht zum Image der SBB.

Another maddening time change

On no account should you buy a Mondaine Stop2go wall clock unless you are prepared to spend hours resetting the time whenever the clocks change. The process seems simple but is extremely frustrating when it goes wrong, which it usually does.

Lovely looking classic modern mens…

Lovely looking classic modern mens wristwatch, however the battery runs out very quickly. Eventually my watch stopped working after 3 years. I suspect this is not a Swiss movement just Swiss design. My cheap Timex is 15 years old and has never skipped a beat.

FAKE SWISS CLOCKS

In an effort to stop buying Chinese goods, I was directed to Mondaine for a wall clock. The clock was over $325 but I paid that because I was buying a Swiss movement, built into an American clock. This clock movement is made in Thailand (read China), which means the clock is maybe worth $100. This company is stealing from you. DO NOT BUY THEIR FAKE SWISS CLOCKS.

Awful, awful customer service

I bought a replacement grape leather watch strap for my Mondaine watch. Delivery cost €15 which I felt was expensive but was by courier.

In the end it took over 3 weeks to get the strap, and it was only due to my persistance that it ever arrived. Someone walking from Germany to Ireland where I live could have delivered it faster. When it finally did arrive it turned out that Mondaine had not provided my full address to GLS, so it was miraculous that it even arrived in the right country.

I approached Mondaine's so-called "Customer Service" team and received a very sniffy and defensive response from someone called Philipp. I had asked for a refund of the cost of delivery, given that it had taken so long. This was immediately rebuffed and blame shifted to GLS - Mondaine would not take responsibility. I pointed out that my contract was with Mondaine and they were responsible for timely delivery to me, but this was ignored.

When I finally received the parcel it was clear that the fault lay with Mondaine, that they had failed to pass on the full address to GLS, but as yet I have received neither a refund nor an apology.

It is a massive shame as I love my Mondaine watch, but I would never recommend anyone to purchase anything from them after this experience.

Absolut kein Kundendienst

Absolut kein Kundendienst. Nicht funktionierende SBB wlan Uhr. Eine vollkommene sehr teure verarschung.
Sham to SBB, dass ihr euren Namen dafür her gebt. Hätte gute Lust mich an die SBB zu wenden, statt an die nicht existierende Mondain.

Grape leather no thanks

My grape 'leather ' watch strap only lasted 8 months before the plastic began to peel off. Although a replacement has been agreed I got passed between 3 different companies and had to chase each time and it has still not arrived. Very poor customer service.

Poor show Mondaine

Love the look of my watch. However I have had constant problems with it. The clasp broke after a few weeks - had to send to be fixed (which a significant amount, even under warranty). Then battery needed replacing sooner than I expected (more money). And after 2 years it no longer told the time correctly and sporadically stopped and started . We have been advised by Mondaine that we need to send it back yet again, with associated costs. I am so disappointed, this wasn't a cheap watch, it was a gift and the service has been a series of template apologies. Poor show Mondaine, not what we expected from Swiss craftsmanship, technology or service!!!

All fur coat and no knickers!

Bought a Mondaine watch 24/3/25 for my husband’s birthday on 17th April. The parcel arrived promptly and was beautifully wrapped, therefore as it was for a gift, I didn’t undo any of it, thinking the whole “box new” experience would be nicer that way. Unfortunately the contents of the box did not live up to the expectations promised by the presentation - the watch hasn’t kept time since the beginning! When my husband contacted Mondaine, he was told (quite abruptly) to contact their authorised service centre for repair. He then went back to them stating we were dissatisfied with this solution as the watch was brand new. Mondaine came back to us saying that they couldn’t do anything else as it was outside their 14 day refund period. FOURTEEN DAYS for a £200+ watch that promised quality and workmanship but delivered a useless, faulty product. Fourteen days didn’t even leave time between purchase and birthday!! Hugely disappointing customer service for an item that ought to exude quality on all levels.

Title: Mundane Face, Firmware Farce – Swiss Precision Ends at the Casing

The Mondaine Stop Go wall clock turned up with spot behind the glass and customer support that was on a skiing holiday in the Alps. Gave up and accepted Swiss actual standard of quality control and chucked the box away. Decide to highlight to them their support was as good as their quality control and made one attempt and got please send back in original packaging. Yeah, we all know what that actually means.

Now experience in real life found it is accurate only if you measure accuracy by ice ages.

Swiss tech loves to drape itself in the prestige of Mondaine railway clocks—a timeless symbol of order and precision. But when you get past the brushed steel and Helvetica, it’s often a firmware disaster zone.

From vanished devices to unstable updates and dysfunctional companion apps, the user experience feels less like Swiss engineering and more like a dodgy firmware internship. For a country famed for horological excellence, it’s staggering how often their “smart” products forget what they’re supposed to do.

Don’t sell us the myth of the red seconds hand if the backend was coded in haste and never tested.

It simply loses it connection to wifi and then its native accuracy makes a fifty year old two bob mechanical watch look good.

Looking at the reviews not alone and support must be listening to the “Sound of Silence”.

Put bluntly it is not fit for purpose but do not expect a refund or replacement unless you are a box hoarder.

After less than 2 weeks

After less than 2 weeks, the hour hand was misaligned. I was told by customer services to send it for a repair. A repair for a watch that is barely 10 days old? I thought Mondaine watches were purchased for quality and longevity - for exceptional workmanship. Clearly not. Deeply disappointed all round.

If only the customer service was as good as the design.

Whilst I love the design aesthetics of a Mondaine watch I just can’t recommend them at the moment. I own one which has a manufacturing fault whereby the case back pinged into a concave shape upon removal, this renders it impossible to re-apply so therefore the watch is unwearable (a fundamental function you’d argue). Online customer support initially recommended buying a new watch (not helpful) so I contacted them again.
After lots of ignored messages they eventually responded and they basically won’t do anything as it is just outside the warranty period. I’ve wasted my money on the watch as Mondaine will offer no recourse… I have reminded them that a manufacturing fault is on them and not the customer.
So if you’re happy to take a chance that you get a non-faulty one good luck to you. There are other quality watchmakers in this price bracket that would I’m sure offer a much better customer experience and certainly better customer service.
I’m just trying to offer some of my experiences in a transparent way so others can make an informed choice on their next purchase.

Das Geile daran: Diese Systememail löscht sich binnen 24 Stunden, also solltet Ihr die Uhr sofort zurückschicken. Was für ein Dreck...

Beautiful watch to look at BUT advised…

Beautiful watch to look at BUT advised by my local watchmaker that the movement is cheap. Not only this but because of the design of the watch I have the glass is very flat and easy to break, I have replaced it four times now at huge expense.
My daughter had a Mondaine watch but gave up on it, every time it went wrong it cost her a fortune.
Awful after service, such a shame and very dissatisfied. Do Mondaine actually care about customer satisfaction I wonder? A lot of jewellers don’t sell these watches and certainly don’t want to repair them because it’s probably more than their reputation is worth.

Problemlose Ersatzlieferung

Vor weniger als 2 Jahren hatte ich in Deutschland eine SBB Bahnhofsuhr gekauft. Die war jetzt defekt, ließ sich nicht mehr mit dem Handy verbinden und stellen. Der Händler war mittlerweile insolvent. Über einen Service Partner in Deutschland ging die Uhr direkt an Mondaine. Von dort habe ich innerhalb einer Woche anstandslos Ersatz bekommen. Für diesen Service gibt es gerne die volle Punktzahl.
