They were very good moved all difficult items with care operatives were very polite and confident

The whole team were very easy to work with and worked hard to get the job done very efficiently. And no damage or breakages. And very helpful with the domestic appliances.

Ashley of Sussex carried out my move and I have to say it could not have gone better.Martin,Alex and Ryan were absolutely fantastic and made the transition from one property to the other extremely painless. I would not recommend Movers of Sussex to anyone who values their belongings. In the move items disappeared for example a 32 inch Samsung Television, when I questioned its whereabouts I was told that they accounted for everything before going in to storage and this was not there. I sent proof of the TV and was told they had found it in the blanket room. How about that?? A church mirror that left my home in Hurst in perfect condition was suddenly broken. Later I discovered other items had disappeared ie a stand up fan and various other bits of mine didn’t turn up, when I questioned Lewis the manager/owner he became abusive with me and threatened me with his lawyer. I was astounded that a small question turned into a threat. In the move various bits of my furniture were marked badly and some broken. I was sent a claim form but no further action was taken by them and when I attempted to contact them they did not answer their office phone which I was told quite categorically by Lewis in an earlier conversation that I should go directly through to his office and speak to his office manger/wife. Of course when I did this the phone reverted to Lewis’s mobil so eventually I was fighting a losing battle and he knew this. Al, I wanted was what belonged to me! If this is a reputable and professional company then I am still in shock on the way things were handled and also the disappearance of my belonging. I am 76 years old, lost my husband in 2018 and had to deal with this on my own. Where has trust and politeness disappeared in this world I feel as if I was Taney advantage of because of my age. I leave it there.

I have waited several months to leave a review to make sure it’s fair and the company had a chance to address the point they’d promised to sort out.

Everything written here has been communicated to the company when Lewis followed up to ask how things had gone. There was no acknowledgement of the issues, despite him seeking us out for feedback.

We had the packaging and moving service. The packers came the day before the move and spent about 3 hours packing. They could have stayed much longer if they’d needed. Quite a lot of things were left in wardrobes when they’d finished but they assured me that it wouldn’t be a problem, and this would be sorted the next day. No specialist clothes boxes were used even though we’d confirmed to Lewis we’d need some.

The movers (a different team to the packers) arrived the next day about an hour later than communicated. On seeing the house and the level of packaging they were clearly not happy and said that they’d expected everything to have been packed. As a result they had to finish the packing very quickly which involved shoving things into big boxes (including clothes, suits etc). Also we’d been told dismantling of furniture wasn’t a problem to sort on the day but the movers were clearly not happy with this either and they had to spend time on this which they said should have been done the day before. It was incredibly frustrating to know that we’d paid for a team to do packing the previous day when there was ample time, but instead they left the movers with more to do than they should have.

To the movers credit they got on with the job and they worked incredibly hard and they were helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately they also left rubbish (newspapers, cans and some furniture I’d never seen before) in the bushes in front of our old house which we had to clean up after they’d gone.

When unpacking they smashed a mirror. They were really open and upfront about it and got me to sign a form which noted they’d replace it. We’re talking about a c.£50 IKEA mirror, so it wasn’t the end of the world, but we were assured the company would buy a replacement or reimburse us. We’ve followed up several times since and the company has taken no action on this.

Given how hard the movers worked (we tipped them), I’d been happy to let the other things go - the main thing was we managed to get into the house and we had so many other things to sort out. However, being ignored for months now regarding the mirror has tipped the balance. The overall level of service is not acceptable for anyone wanting a stress-free move.

It’s a shame the company couldn’t take the small step on following through with what they’d promised on the mirror. There are no hard feelings, I think it’s just important that people understand the level of service the company may provide. I would have liked to know in advance so we could have opted for a more professional outfit.

We used Movers of Sussex for our move and were disappointed with the service. They turned up late and unprepared. One of our plants was broken in transit and a box of drinks was left on the van (upon enquiring we were told they had simply thrown the box away at the end of the day). They have also failed to correctly connect our washing machine so a visit from the plumber is now required too. I raised these issues with the company afterwards and was basically told 'No actually we're great and you're wrong'.

They left us feeling anything but relaxed on the day and I would not recommend them or use them myself again.

Great Service. Moving house is very stressful and these guys took all that stress away from us. The team was very helpful. Great to see a company giving School leavers a chance to work.

Would strongly recommend this company to anyone

Sadly, they turned up late, apparently not enough adult team members available so they had no choice but to bring school children to do the job, i had to help otherwise the job wouldn't have been completed, Damaged multiple items, which we raised with them promptly, their reaction was to ignore us for a while, then eventually admit fault, then ignore us again. In hindsight, we wished we had gone elsewhere. i would not recommend using this company for what will already be a stressful day.

Can’t thank these guys enough for there help today. We had no contact at all and they did everything safely and professionally. We left everything in there hands and everything was perfect. Thank you again.

Lewis and his team moved us to our new home. Such a professional outfit. On time, wrapped all fragile items and took great care of all furniture. Cannot recommend highly enough. You will not go wrong using this company. Will recommend to everyone. Thanks so much.

Very professional they go above what I expected, out of a removal company it was raining hard on the day of our move they laid blankets down so no wet foot prints, everything was covered nothing got wet, all of them were very helpful they took the stress out of the move, I would not hesitate in recommending to anyone. Although the job involving 2 moves was greater than they anticipated they returned to complete the task. They were helpful and willing to assist in anyway they could.There was slight damage to a couple of objects but they handled every thing with care. Great value for money. Thank you for you assistance

Excellent removal service, they were the best I've used and so attentive to detail and genuine care. I also booked the packing service, which is def something I'd also recommend. Brilliant service, and lovely guys. THANK YOU for all your hard work for my move. I will def be in touch if need to use you again in the future.

What a fantastic find! These guys were very reasonably priced, punctual, friendly, efficient and professional. I would highly recommend them! I would definitely use them again and they made what can be quite stressful to a much more enjoyable experience.

Piano moves.
Lewis has helped now the removal of two pianos. Yes if you are buying a £2000 plus grand - get the professionals in...but when they charge more to move the piano than its worth - Lewis and his team do an excellent professional and very affordable job.

I have worked with Lewis and his guys quite a few times. The service is always so efficient and helpful. Recently I came down ill at work, Lewis sent 2 crew and a van to help us out of a really awkward situation as we wouldn’t of finished the move, so we are so grateful for the speedy help and it was a very long day.

A pleasure to recommend these movers, hard workers. Quality all the way.

Movers of Sussex collected a piano for me at really short notice for a very fair price. They couldn’t have been more efficient or helpful, I will definitely use them again. Nikki
