Moving to the UK is one of the biggest decisions you'll ever make — and we built this site because we know how overwhelming it can feel when you're trying to piece together visa rules, NHS registration, housing costs, and everything else that comes with starting a new life in a new country. movingtotheuk.co.uk is an independent guide for expats, skilled workers, and anyone planning to relocate to the UK. We cover everything from visa types and immigration rules to finding a job, registering with a GP, opening a bank account, and settling into everyday British life. Our content is written by people who have actually done this — writers and contributors with real expat experience across multiple countries and decades of combined knowledge. We're not a law firm, an immigration adviser, or a visa agency. We're a community-first resource that believes good, honest information should be free and easy to find. Every guide we publish is researched thoroughly, kept up to date as UK rules change, and written in plain language — because you shouldn't need a solicitor to understand your own options. Whether you're at the very beginning of your research or already packing boxes, we hope movingtotheuk.co.uk feels like a knowledgeable friend who's been through it and is happy to help. We'd love to hear what you think of the site — your reviews help us improve and help other people in exactly the same position find us.

The guide I needed when I arrived
When I moved to the UK I knew nothing about how the system works here. Someone recommended this site and it genuinely helped — from the visa process to the NHS and understanding how to get employed properly. It's not full of ads or vague advice. It's straight to the point. Would recommend to anyone coming from abroad.

Good, clear and easy to navigate info
A very promising resource for anyone planning a move to the UK. The website covers essential topics like Visa requirements, housing, and NHS information, which are often the most stressful parts of relocating. It's clear and organized, making complex administrative processes much easier to understand. Great work on the guides!

Relocating to the UK guides
Relocating to a new country can be a complex, especially being unfamiliar with the local systems and requirements. As an expat, it’s easy to miss important details. I found the relocation guides on MovingToTheUK.co.uk to be extremely helpful. They provided valuable guidance on essential steps such as registering with a local GP, understanding council tax, and ensuring that all visa requirements were properly in place. Everything is explained in a practical and easy-to-follow way, which made the entire process feel much more manageable. Thanks to these guides, my experience was less stressful than I expected.

Thank you, Adrian — this genuinely means a lot to us. We work hard to make sure every guide is accurate, practical, and actually useful for people navigating the move, so it's great to hear it's landing that way. Wishing you all the best in the UK!
I initially came to the UK to study
I initially came to the UK to study, but was then offered a job and decided to stay here. This site offers really good guides on how to navigate the UK system correctly and efficiently.
It's not useful just for people looking to move to the UK, but also for people who have been living here for a while and still find it difficult to understand various aspects of this society.

Thank you, Marius — and congratulations on the job! Going from studying to working in the UK is a big transition, and it's great to hear the guides were useful through that. And yes, the UK has a lot of layers, even people who've been here for years come across things that aren't immediately obvious. That's exactly the gap we're trying to fill. Wishing you all the best in your career here and thanks again for taking the time to share your positive feedback!
