100% do NOT recommend this company. They automatically put your card into a subscription. Eventually they just pick the meals for you and you don't get to choose anymore. I didn't even know this was recurring and was on a work trip out of town and got a call from my apt manager telling me there's a rotted box of food in the mailroom that is stinking up the mailroom. I really wanted to be a customer but when I reached out to explain the situation they told me to cancel and pay my subscription still. RUN from this company!!

They are sneaking signing you up for subscription and then mail you foods you do not want. As far as taste. Nothing special.Turkey Chili very dry. For price not very flavorful. Like low calories but Lean Cusine or weight watchers.

I ordered 6 meals my first time. It took 12 days to be delivered. That is a ridiculous amount of time for a weekly meal service. I chose this service over 12 others because I wanted bland food that I could add my own flavor to. The meals were disgusting. They were very small portions. Especially the vegetables. I tried to eat some of the roast beef and it was mushy and tasted like straight onions. I couldn't even taste any beef flavor. The potatoes had a weird chemical /plastic taste to them as well. The chicken in the next meal was wet and rubbery and had zero flavor to it. There was pasta with peas and only 4 peas in it. They also charged me $128 for this which is actually more than we spend as 2 adults at a grocery store. I cancelled before I even got my first order because it took so long to arrive.

The food is basic and not good. It's impossible to order or make changes on their website. The customer service is the worst. I skipped a week and they still charged and delivered my food and I tried to cancel, and my food still came. I have tried a number of different food services. Some I still use this is the only one so bad I am writing a review to warn people away. My trainer recommended them to me and he now knows not to suggest them to anyone else.

I don’t know why Metabolic meals has such a poor rating. I’ve had five weeks of meals so far and have found all the GF meals tasty and plenty of food. Every single one had vegetables unless you select a protein only item. I give them 4 stars because there isn’t a telephone number to call and emails go unanswered. The average meal is between $12+ to 13+ per meal unless you want a larger portion of protein then your looking at $14+.

I had to read the reviews here because I was floored by how many bad reviews there were. My experience has never been anywhere near what these poor reviews describe. I’ve been with Metabolic Meals since they started, after I left CookUnity.

I will agree with one person’s comment that the pictures don’t always represent what you actually get. I even wrote to them about that when I first became a subscriber. It was their lasagna, and it was pathetic. Their image of that lasagna was beautiful, and what showed up didn’t even look edible. But I ate it, and it was good. Wasn’t great, but it was good.

When it came to the other meals, they were all excellent.

One of the biggest things that most of these ready-meal companies get wrong is the chicken. Nobody can do chicken right, but Metabolic seems to be able to. I’ve only had one rubbery piece of chicken from them. Other than that, it’s been perfectly tender, whereas with other delivery companies it’s almost always chewy.

Customer service has always taken care of me if I’ve had any issues, which have been pretty much nil.

I’m very happy with them and have no complaints. Highly recommend.

I’ve been receiving meals for 3 weeks. The food is very good, selections are good, seasoning is perfect. One delivery was one day late and tracking deliveries is poor but overall compared to a couple of others I’ve tried I will be continuing to order.

So, I never leave reviews unless I am very dissatisfied or vice versa…Trustpilot is usually pretty accurate so I always try to check it before ordering from somewhere I’ve never heard of. Fortunately, I forgot to do that with this company and checked the reviews AFTER placing my order….needless to say I was very stressed about the quality of product I would be receiving so I was very anxious for delivery day. I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO IDEA why there are so many negative reviews….The quality is top notch! The portions are modest but they do fill you up! And this helps significantly for portion control so really the portions are perfect - not too small and not too large. I think I have finally found a product that is GREAT tasting and will help me lose weight while staying healthy!!! As for all the reviews about being “overcharged/automatically placed orders”…the website is quite simple and direct…. If you don’t want meals you can either skip before the deadline or cancel all future shipments.

Delivery: My first delivery was a day late. They said it was because of the Labor Day holiday… but they knew about the holiday, and could/should have adjusted the promised delivery date. Website/ordering: I don’t like how “the week of” date doesn’t match the shipping date. It is confusing. I signed up for some meals and then learned I would be in the hospital… the website does not allow you to make ANY changes, even if it is before the cutoff date for the given ordering period. Customer Service: I requested cancellation of the second order BEFORE the cutoff date, but they didn’t get back to me until the next day, and then said it was too late to cancel. Food: The food is not bad, but it is not very appetizing in appearance. I prefer a container with at least two compartments so that, when appropriate, the protein and sides are not all mixed together. I LOVE that the portions/calories are significantly less than Factor. I also like that there were plenty of meals with neither mushrooms nor green peppers. Packaging: TONS of insulation, even more than Factor; the meals were still acceptably cold even with the delay. Finally, the huge label makes it so that you cannot see the contents. I prefer the label on the outer sleeve.

I ordered a one time delivery of six meals and without my permission they signed me up for a subscription and made unauthorized charges to my credit card. I had to change my credit card number. Don’t deal with this company, it’s borderline criminal/fraud.

My box was delivered a day late, 3 meals were punctured and the “ice” bag was also punctured and melted and the goo was everywhere and dripping from the box. I threw the whole thing in the garbage. The company refused to refund me and offered only partial credit toward my next order even though I just cancelled my membership. I’m 99% sure the email communications for support is automated. Very frustrating. I’d rather cook for myself.

I absolutely love the metabolic meals. I don't understand why there are so many negative comments. I am going to change that today. The chicken tikka masala is probably the best I have ever tasted. I loved the rosemary beef and the general tso chicken. I will be a long time customer for sure. Customer service is top notch and always very kind and considerate. The promos given are always very nice as well! I've been ordering every week and for sure you will have a longtime customer!

I don't understand all the bad reviews. I've used the service on and off for 6 months. The food is quite tasty and the right portion for me. You don't have to subscribe and can pop in to pick a week here and there - which is what I do. It's handy to have something in the freezer when I can't or don't want to cook. I can't help but think all these 1 star reviews are from competitors trying to sabotage.

Absolutely disgusting meals. The meals received are nothing like the pictures. The food taste sour due to the preservative and garlic powder used. The risotto is absolute mush. The steak is typically a pile of mush. It is 100% false advertising. And it's very pricey for what you get. It is also ridiculous because I placed my first order and had to place a second order before receiving my first order due to cut off times for the following delivery...which means my second order had to be placed prior to being able to taste my first order and determine quality. I asked if I can cancel my second order due to lack of satisfaction; they said it couldn't be cancelled due to already being paid, despite it not getting shipped for another week. I cancelled my subscription as this is a scam and false advertising. Definitely do not recommend.

BEWARE!! After you order one time, you are automatically signed up to receive weekly meals whether you order them or not. And they will send more meals than you ordered the first time and charge your credit card. They charged my card MORE THAN DOUBLE on the 2nd order (that I didn’t ask for).

Ordered my first box and it was delayed. Not a reliable service.

This is the biggest scam- thought I would try the meals. Did not think the quality of the food was good, so I called and emailed customer serviceto cancel. Another box is delivered-when I am out of town. Call and email again... customer service sends me a link saying I can cancel through the link and that they cannot stop the subscription. This link does not go to a cancelation page, so I log on the desktop site and buried under FAQ is how to cancel meals. On that page there is a sentence that says click the "Unsubscribe Now" button... guess what- there is NO Unsubscribe Now Option.... so only way to stop this train is to contest on my credit card. Do not give these people your CC info...

Don’t subscribe unless you’re ready to order every week. They will order for you if you forget. First week was $78 (with $20 off for first time), skipped second week because first order hadn’t arrived and we didn’t know if we’d like it, didn’t order week 3…not thinking because we hadn’t consumed all the food from week one…so what they ordered for me was $137. NOT HAPPY and have no idea what’s coming.

The food is fair because it’s like eating left overs. It’s probably really good when it’s first cooked. Not large portions. One side dish was potatoes, onion and bell peppers…there was 2 potato wedges.

It doesn’t come looking anything like the pictures and there’s a large amount of packaging that you must deal with because of the need to keep it cool.

Not happy with the experience. Maybe you’ll be happier.

It's all the things everyone has complained about--awful customer sercice,--can't talk to a person, won't return voice mail, all inquiries made by email are answered by and responded to by an AI bot and don't address the problem, shipped and charged me something even after I cancelled the subscription, won't cancel account.

The food is good and I like the healthy ingredients they use. Customer service, however, is nonexistent. If you call their phone number, no one ever answers. They do not respond to messages.I have complained several times that my orders have been shorted. For example, if I order 15 meals which is the minimum to receive free shipping, they only send me 13 or 14 meals. They won’t credit my account when I complain.
