Child’s account

I wrote a review yesterday about a child’s account. I was told only one parent can access this. I’m a bit baffled as to why both parents can’t have access to this account. For example, if I want to add money, I have to send this to my child’s father to put in and or monitor but as the mother I can’t have access to this, but I can open another account so we monitor two accounts for one child? This doesn’t make much sense to me. Is this something we can look into please as both parents should have equal rights to over see their child’s accounts. Can someone please email me and not send a link as I am able to find this information online. This is the second time I’m asking to speak to someone and a link has been sent instead of an actual response from and actual person.

waiting for them to call me back been…

waiting for them to call me back been calling and calling leaving messages and nobody will return my call back the last time I spoke to somebody in the claim department named Matthew. He gave me his manager George’s number told me to call him and still nothing my roof got torn up on April 1 and 2nd with the High winds all over San Antonio. It was even on the news and they still won’t pay attention to me. They sent me a letter through the mail and said my roof is not covered because of wear and tear how can that be when they came to start the policy one year ago and took pictures how can wear and tear happen within one year it’s not like like cars drive on it I will continue to write reviews until I get a check through the mail that will cover my damages

Car insurance..if u need to call just keep pressing 1 at every decision juncture.

Car insurance... Honestly the worst phone system I've ever experienced. Took my elderly mum 40mins to speak to a human when she broke down. That was only because i got there and just pressed 1 at every decision juncture. Took about 4 presses and I got a person. After that all fine. I am 100% positive noone from nationwide gives a flying f what anyone in here says, but I advise you to use the system before you sign it off.

Terrible service

I am locked out of my vehicle. I've called NW 3 times in the last 30 min and either got AI which would not transfer me to a live agent or live agents who were having phone system problems. It's frustrating to need the help of your insurance company and can't even get them on the phone!! NW needs to do better for the amount of money I pay for my policy.

Dropped Us Once my Dog Became a Senior

I have had my dog on their pet insurance policy since I got her. And while on it, she gets diagnosed with 2 incurable conditions, and then she turned 7, and she was dropped! I will now NEVER be able to get those conditions covered under a different insurance plan because they are now pre-existing. So avoid this company; they really suck, and just think about their bottom line like a typical big company.

Nationwide not concerned with their clients financial interest

After having to jump through the numerous hoops to speak to a real person about getting a payoff amount to payoff a loan to my own annuity, an autopay was deducted from my regular checking account a few weeks later. The only way to turn off the autopay is to call customer service and jump through the numerous hoops they have in place. When I made this call the day after the unnecessary autopay was deducted (April 7th) I was informed that it would not be refunded until the 20th. Now it’s the 20th and they are telling me it will be the 21st. All of this was unnecessary. Nationwide is a long standing financial institution that should have it together enough for their clients to not have to endure this frustration. However, I have come to the conclusion after speaking with several different people (never the same one) including a manager that this was intentional. They have now had free use of my money for two weeks. If the situation were reversed I am positive they would be charging me interest. I just hope that I get my money back tomorrow.
Nationwide neglected its responsibility to inform me at the time I reached out for the payoff amount that I would need to call them again to turn off the autopay. It can’t be done online or via their app and it wasn’t automatically done in the paying off of the loan. Then after numerous calls to them and never speaking to the same person they informed me that I would have to wait two weeks to get my money back. It will actually be more than two weeks if I even get it back tomorrow.
Update: They still have not returned my money. They said one more day. We’ll see.

This company has changed for the worse

This company has changed for the worse. They still have been decent with (expensive level of) car collision coverage. But the home owners insurance is terrible.
NY Law(!) requires a mold assessor to be licensed and knowledgeable. They sent an adjuster with no such credentials, did not do what NYS Law requires in the assessment of the situation, and paid only for an inadequate job done without follow-up (the follow-up also required under NY Law). Not knowing NY Law at the time, I thought she actually did a decent job in taking care of the problem; much to my anguish I found I was taken in by her (scamming me) when a month later I got seriously sick from the mold spores still floating around the place When I left for my family's place in NYC, a doctor there told me I had a "dark spot" on my lung and prescribed 3 antibiotics. Luckily that worked
Nationwide is still refusing to appropriately deal with the situation. I'm reporting them to the NYS Insurance Department, and the NYS AG

Support liars. Terrible company

I wish I could give this company a zero. Denied a claim when one of their customers was at fault and who almost hurt a child. Completely disgusting company. Go with someone else! Terrible custom service.

Not helpful at all & no way of contacting them.

They refuse to do manual transfer requests. I spent a whole morning trying to resolve an issue but they are an absolute joke. They are now not even talking calls as I guess so many people are having problems as well. Had I read previous reviews and would never have bothered with them.

Was great until it wasn't

Was great until it wasn't. They cancelled certain pet policies in our state. They then offered new plans for 3x the amount with less coverage. They definitely penalize you for using the insurance. Isn't that what's its for??? They claim to give employer discounts but, hopefully my employer stop using them.

The worst bank ever

The worst bank ever. They have a glitch on their banking app which they admit. They carry on paying standing orders despite being cancelled and then won’t pay the money back! They’ve tried lying and gaslighting and out of £900 they offered £175 for their ‘glitch’ NO PAY ME BACK THE MONEY YOU OWE ME AND ALL OF IT TOO. I’ve gone to the financial ombudsman now. All their promises of what they’ll do if they take money fraudulently from your account is a big lie. They treat you like David and Goliath and your money isn’t safe with these liars.

I give nationwide 1 star they are truly unethical.
I started an application through my company for pet insurance. They sent me a request for required information for the policy to be active. I decided not to provide that information but they went ahead and charge me anyway out of my paycheck because they had access to my paycheck. Pay very close attention because they will not treat you fairly.

Nationwide lost my retirement plan - won't help me find it

The company I worked at for 9 years had a 401k plan that got transferred to Nationwide. I left the company and it went out of business shortly after. I called Nationwide and spoke with Diana asking for the plan details so I could move it. She said they could find the company but couldn't verify me so she couldn't help me. I explained I'm going through a divorce and need to legally record the 401k amount and I wanted to transfer the account. She refused to allow me to speak with a supervisor. She said I could call back. What horrible service! It feels like they're stealing my money.

Nationwide Insurance WOES!!!

I've had trouble with Nationwide since the day the policy started. But they were less expensive

1. When they went from a digital account to "regular" (?) accounts, I was never able to get a working online account. Talked to agents 10 - 12 times. They all promisd to follow up, but there was never a solution, so I just paid by phone.

Then there was the ridiculous property claim this summer from monsoon damage. The agent told me they only cover water damage generated from internal sources. A few minutes later he told me they only cover 3% of hail damage. I guess he thought hail (frozen water) was generated from inside a building???

They also changed the claim from water to wind and then back again. Finally, they came up with an answer that said it was unfortunate, but I was about $200 short of the amount necessary to cover it. (several thousand dollars).

I gave up, which I'm sure was their intent.

I paid them for over six years but decided to cancel a few months after this claim experience. Why pay for nothing?

So I canceled the account on 12/20/26. Received a cancellation notice in early January. They had the date as 1/8/26 but it was actually 12/20/25.

BUT THEN, just this week, March 3, I received a notice that said this was their "FINAL NOTICE." Pay another $130.10 or they're sending me to a collection agency on March 8!

Their reason: my cancellation resulted in a final premium. How? MY PREMIUM was a little over $200/month. WHY $130.10?

And sending your account to a collection agency with only five days notice? Not even working days, calendar days.

Also note: There were no previous notices, just a FINAL NOTICE.

This is insurance terrorism. If you want to deal with a collection agency, for no legitimate reason, and have your credit rating go down? Then, PAY UP! whatever we send you. They even forced me to add a credit card to the FINAL one-time, payment. WHY? It's a one-time payment. Are they going to use the card for other payment threats?

Also, you might note, their policies have shifted from property coverage to bizarre required coverages like terrorist attacks (with a cap on losses, of course, and it has to be a "CERTIFIED" terrorist attack), forgery, valuable papers on premises (most things are digital), money outside the premises...the bizarre list goes on, especially for a small business.

Again, I don't recommend them for ANYTHING. They're just out to make a quick buck and use whatever tactics they feel quick and easy.

TOTALLY SKETCHY and Unprofessional

3 weeks ago I was rear-ended by a driver with Nationwide. He contacted them the day after the accident and admitted he rear-ended me. They stated they had to wait for the police report 'in order to establish liability', which in PA can take 2 weeks. The agent also stated that their insured was also saying that I rear-ended the person in front of me before he rear-ended me. Totally untrue-he hit me and I rear-ended the guy in front of me. They refused to pay for a rental car or move forward with paying for even the rear of my car. I checked daily for the police report and paid for a copy online, then emailed the Nationwide agent and asked again about having my car fixed. She said she didn't have the report so I emailed it. It is now almost 3 weeks and they finally agreed to pay for a rental. They told me they would pay for a large SUV like mine and it would be available from Enterprise today. Enterprise called and said they would pick me up at 2:30 pm to get my car. When we got there they stated they had no 4x4 suv, and I could instead have a mini van OR a car with a cracked windshield. I called the Nationwide agent and he said it wasn't their fault, they had no control and he laughed while saying so. LAUGHED. After waiting as Enterprise called around, we had to drive 25 minutes to another town to get the rental. So after almost 3 weeks, my car is STILL not repaired, OR even scheduled, and I have to pay $30/day for the rental for loss of rental income charge should their car be damaged while I'm driving it. As per my insurance agent, NO auto insurance in the US will cover that cost. In my 50 plus years of driving I've dealt with a lot of auto insurance companies, and Nationwide is BY FAR the shadiest and worst. They are ONLY on the side of their profit margin.
