My Warning About Nivohost: Here Are the Facts They Asked For
In a recent communication, Nivohost support asked me to "update my Trustpilot review to reflect the complete context and facts." I am happy to oblige. Here is a factual, chronological account of my experience for all potential customers to see.
Fact 1: The Purchase & Cancellation (May 2025)
I purchased a monthly VPS subscription on May 3rd, 2025. The service did not meet my needs, so I cancelled it. On May 5th, 2025, at 7:47 PM, I received an email directly from Nivohost confirming my cancellation. It stated, "This email is to confirm that we have received your cancellation request... The service will be terminated within the next 24 hours." This is an undeniable fact from their own system.
Fact 2: The Billing Failures Begin (June 2025)
Despite my confirmed cancellation, on June 3rd, Nivohost's system incorrectly generated a new invoice (#1404) and began attempting to charge my card. These attempts soon became a daily harassment. Fortunately, I had the foresight to use a virtual card, which I immediately cancelled.
Fact 3: My Complaint Was Ignored (June 2025)
On June 22nd, 2025, I sent a detailed email to Nivohost's complaints department. I explained that they were trying to charge me for a cancelled service and attached screenshots of the payment failure notices. I received no response. My attempt to resolve this privately was completely ignored.
Fact 4: The Blame Game & Shifting Excuses (July 2025)
After I posted my initial review, Nivohost's story began to change:
Excuse #1 (Public): In their public reply here, they falsely claimed I never cancelled the service. This is contradicted by their own email from May 5th.
Excuse #2 (Private Email): In a private email, they shifted their story, now claiming I "continued using the service" after the cancellation date. This is also false because I didn't. More importantly, a cancelled product should not even be usable.
Excuse #3 (Blaming Partners): They claimed the daily charges were "standard behavior" for their payment gateway, Stripe. This is misleading. Such an aggressive retry schedule is not Stripe's default; it is a policy chosen by Nivohost.
Fact 5: The Attempted Censorship (July 2025)
When confronted with facts, Nivohost's next step was to flag my truthful review as "defamatory." Trustpilot's Content Integrity Team investigated their claim, found it to be baseless, and rightfully restored my review.
Conclusion: The Complete Context
So, here are the facts and complete context Nivohost asked me to provide. This is not a misunderstanding. It's a documented sequence of failures:
A failure to honor a confirmed cancellation.
A failure to respond to a direct customer complaint.
A failure of their billing system, which still attempts to charge my expired card daily, even today.
A failure to take any responsibility, instead resorting to shifting excuses, blaming the customer, and attempting to silence factual criticism.
This is the full truth. Make your own decision, but I would advise anyone considering this company to be extremely cautious.
UPDATE 18-08-2025: Just to show how serious they are; after all this, there is still a daily attempt to take money from the card.
UPDATE 03-01-2026 Until today, every day like clockwork they try to take money from the card. Proof on file!
Update 25-02-2026 today for the first time no attempt. Added a star for effort.
