Oldenglishcontractors Avis 5

I have given Oldenglishcontractors (Gerome ) to do my roof on Nov 2022. He has done the flat roof and the tiled roof. I constantly have problems.
They have damaged the neighbours roof and neighbours complained. I have had many issues with both roofs since then. He has given me 25 years guarantee.

Every time I contact him, he says that he will send someone to have a look but he never does.

What a fantastic organisation, a fantastic group of lads with great manners.
Completed exactly what they said they would in time, would absolutely recommend them, no issues from the beginning, the middle and the end..well done 🙌🏽

Just moved into our property and the first heavy rain caused a deluge from the guttering at the side of our house over the garage. Good communication with Patrick, and Olde English Contractors were the only company who had the courtesy to get back to us after phone calls and emails to other advertised companies/contractors. They came to inspect the job the same day and arrived to do the job the next, when a roofing job elsewhere was not possible due to the terrible weather. The team were friendly and courteous and so far so good with the guttering which had to be replaced. To be honest, we were shocked at the price quoted (£2000 + vat) but have no idea whether this was a good rate because the guttering was in a place where it was impossible for us to inspect and, as before no one else bothered to get back to us so had no comparison. We needed it done urgently and can only say that it appears that a good job was done as we have had no problems since. The job is guaranteed for 5 years.

The job was to retile one side of a roof. I paid more than other quotes as they promised a superior finish. BUT...
They asked while on the job for another £1k to rubber cover a small section of flat roof (turns out they hadn't inspected it properly so didn't quote for this).
Said they couldn't replace the lead around the windows and door (as it probably wouldn't stick and impact on the "warranty" ... note I have found there is no warranty!) and wanted nearly double the job cost to make it work.
Took the lead and replaced with felt you put on sheds that was very badly cut and stuck leaving glue, and cement over expensive new windows and tiles.
Broke downpipes and left discarded and unfixed.
Had no equipment (mixed cement in my gardening bucket and watering can, used my ladders and left covered in cement)
Tiles are crooked, unpinned and with gaps in.
Felt unstuck around windows and doors.
Debris not collected (massive pile left in next door garden)
Told me I had OCD but admitted that it looked shoddy.
I got the impression that Pat hadn't worked with the two guys who did the work previously and only turned up at the end of the job.
When I complained, Pat promised he'd send a "proper" team around to fix issues. I called and left messages but have been completely ignored.
I am devastated to have been ripped off like this when I had to get a loan to do the work and now have to pay to fix the mess that's been left. I wish I could go back in time and go with another contractor.

Absolute cowboys. Trading on reviews from a dissolved company. AVIOD AT ALL COSTS

At first they seemed pretty good. Patrick is personable and helpful. The issue is… he’s not on the job, only shows up for payment. Very non-responsive on messages (tried to get nothing in writing). All we needed as a new gutter, facia board and down-pipe. In the end they overcharged us and it took a week to do the work, which was done so poorly the gutter pipes leaked and the facia board was left hanging off and our property was damaged. The materials they used also weren’t fit for purpose, they cut corners wherever they could. Patrick ignored our concerns over the quality of his teams work throughout the process.

This minor job also damaged the whole rear roof of our property leading to £5000 worth of roof replacement by a reputable firm.

We’ve asked Patrick for some money back but he’s ignored us. Having sought legal advice our next stage is to take them to small claims court. 

Don’t go near Old English (or Olde English - the other company that they shut down last year before starting this one up). You’ll be ripped off and left in a worse state than when you started.
