This is a SCAM. I was defrauded of 2,000 €.

I was deceived into transferring 2,000 € for an apartment that was allegedly located in Cologne-Mülheim, Germany. The person claimed to be living in the United States and said they no longer needed the apartment, which is why they wanted to rent it out.

I was asked to transfer the money as a deposit. The bank account provided was located in Spain, which should have been a clear red flag. Unfortunately, I trusted the story at the time.

After the money was transferred, I was blocked everywhere.
All communication channels were cut off immediately (email, messaging apps, and platforms). I could no longer reach the person in any way.

The apartment does not exist, and the entire story was fabricated.
This was a deliberate, intentional fraud.

Do not send money in advance, do not trust apartment offers from people who claim to live abroad, and be extremely cautious if foreign bank accounts are involved.

Oliver James is the most wonderful estate agent. I hadn't brought or sold a property for 25 years. I then had the marital home to sell, my husband who is disabled was still living there, the Team and Oliver were supportive to both his physical and mental needs.

They guided me through the process calmly, professionally and most importantly friendly. They All went above and beyond to ensure we were involved in every stage of the process.

This company seems to only worry about the bottom line. They are very engaging to get you in front of their client but when you ask for feedback they ghost you. I asked Lauren numerous times for feedback. Even called up the hiring manager of there client who gave great feedback that was supplied to Lauren on 5th February. It is now 12th and still not responded. I do not recommend this recruitment agency. Candidates deserve proper feedback especially the amount of commission recruiters make.

Horrible company - unprofessional, terrible with follow up. Seems like a mass production factory, gimmicky sales people that work on volume. Do not get into the process with them, they're people do not know what they are doing. There are much better recruiting firms out there.

Viewed 2 rental properties with Oliver James, we believe we were the first to rang asked for viewing the moment we saw on just added lists, we was not booked the first slot of viewings. After viewed the property, we asked if anyone made an offer yet, they said no. So we made an offer to go a head with renting the property. Their respond was, they have to let everyone that was booked in to view it. Then will let us know the outcome. We saw the property we wanted was taken off as let agreed. And when we said we made the offer first and they come back as first come first served!

This company discriminates against older people. I was applying for a job ib the Netherlands and the recruiter switched from interested to : "they only want senior analists", knowing this was closing the door.
Other road blocks: we want a really extensive motivation, strange because this is not the way of applying for a job anymore in the Netherlands. I also had to be screened beforehand. I told him that he was discriminating against older employees which was denied as usual.
My advise; don't work for this company.

Excellent, friendly service. Lots of viewings and achieved close to asking price in a difficult housing market. Normally I'd say 'you get what you pay for' with an estate agent but Oliver James exceeded my expectations at a reasonable price.

I engaged Oliver James estate agents to let my property in a village near Abingdon in Oxfordshire. The let was for 2 years and with sound knowledge of the local market a great deal was negotiated for me and the tenants were also happy as they asked to remain for another year!
Nicholas at Oliver James was thorough, efficient and professional. For me communication was important and I always found him to be reachable.
Their fees were reasonable and there was room for negotiation whether letting or selling. I am happy to recommend Oliver James estate agents.
