Considering Olympus Acquisition - Don't!!!
To anyone considering working with Olympus Acquisition and it's owner Matthew Aslanis, and to the employees and partners who've been part of this organization — DON'T.
I've been running my own business for over 31 years, and in that time I've partnered with plenty of schools, ad companies, and consulting firms. I'm sharing this because my experience with Olympus Acquisition fell short of that standard in a way I think other business owners deserve to know about before they sign on.
My frustration was never really about a bad campaign, as results can never be fully guaranteed, but given the fact that there were almost NO results during my time with them doesn't help the situation. Specifically, it was the pattern: commitments we agreed on — timelines, ad copy, systems — that went unmet, and follow-up messages that went unanswered for long stretches at a time. After early problems, I gave the relationship a genuine second chance, hoping a fresh start would fix things. It didn't. The second attempt followed the same pattern as the first, but with an even worse experience - and if you can believe it - worse results.
I documented this closely over several months and tried get it resolved quickly. I unfortunately had compassion on the owner, so I extended due dates, but it just turned out to be a stalling scam. I also want to be fair here: one person at Olympus Acquisition, Bonie, was consistently responsive and worked with me in good faith the entire time. That shouldn't get lost in this. However, after leaving the company, she even expressed her frustration with lack of follow through and professionalism. I found the same to be true with their partners, even having some of them not even know they were used on their website!
I'm not sharing this to be vindictive. I'm sharing it because other business owners — especially fellow martial arts school owners — deserve an honest account before deciding whether to invest their time and marketing dollars here. If you're currently working with Olympus Acquisition, or thinking about it, DON'T --- Get out.
