We had a great experience with Ontario Virtual School. My son took Advanced Functions (MHF4U) and was very satisfied with the structure of the course and the quality of the classes. He felt completely supported by his teacher throughout the entire program.

On top of that, the customer service was always very responsive, quickly answering his emails and questions. My son had a tight timeline to complete the course and secure his university admission. Thanks to the OVS team's seamless communication, fast grading, and prompt delivery of his final report card, he successfully met his deadline.

I completed MCV4U-22 (Grade 12 Calculus & Vectors) through Ontario Virtual School and finished the course with a 97%.

Overall, I had a very positive experience with OVS. The lessons and learning materials were clear and well organized, and I found the course structure easy to follow while working independently. I also liked the variety of assessments, since the course included different types of assignments, tests, and evaluations rather than relying only on multiple-choice questions.

One of the biggest advantages for me was the flexibility of online learning. I was able to work through the material at my own pace while still having support when I needed it. My questions were answered through email in a reasonable amount of time, and marked work was returned promptly enough for me to keep progressing through the course.

I also appreciated that there were no unexpected or hidden fees beyond what I was expecting when I enrolled. Administrative processes, including report card processing, were straightforward as well.

A teacher I got assigned was not very up to date with the online technology. Had very hard time with my final online exam setup.No quick response to email inquiries. After you pay the fee things are not so good as before paying. Didn’t get help I expected after reading all those good reviews. Sorry.

My name's Alexandra and I've taken the MCV4U course at Ontario Virtual School and have received a final grade of 99%!
In all honesty, this course is full of detailed, in-depth (yet not too complicated) lessons which encourage the student to think for themselves. However, if you do require help, the teacher responds really quickly and gives a detailed explanation of the topic.
There are no hidden fees, the grading is usually fast, and the tests themselves have the perfect variety of questions for the material learned.
Overall, if you need a couple courses completed, this is the school for you.

I want to update my previous review because it does not reflect my actual experience.
I was encouraged to leave a five-star review in exchange for a $25 Amazon gift card. I followed all of the instructions required to receive the gift card, but I never received it.
I contacted OVS multiple times to ask about the missing gift card, but my emails and follow-up attempts were ignored. Unfortunately, this was consistent with my overall experience seeking support from OVS for school-related matters.
Because my original review was written with the expectation of receiving the promised incentive, it did not accurately reflect my experience. In reality, I was disappointed with both the level of support I received and the lack of follow-through regarding the gift card. I believe prospective students should be aware that positive reviews may be influenced by incentives, and in my case, the promised reward was never provided.

I enjoyed my experience with OVS. I enrolled in a calculus course because I wanted to complete it, after being unable to finish it in high school. The course was quite well designed and allowed me to learn and complete assesments at my own pace. The online lessons were easy to follow, and I had many options to watch them as slow or fast as I wanted, and I really appreciated the quizzes after each lesson to ensure I understood the material. Assesments were comprehensive, but I was never rushed, and felt like I had plenty of time for each test. My instructor, Ms. Millburn, was great. She always had time to help me and answer my emails, and was very gracious and understanding with me. Overall, this was a great experience, and if anyone is considering taking a course on OVS, I would strongly recommend it.

My experience with Ontario Virtual School was pleasant, and I learned a lot while completing Advanced Functions (MHF4U) through OVS. The assessments were well made and formatted properly, so they actually tested learning instead of all of them being multiple choice or the like. My teacher was also very responsive and I didn't have to wait very long at all to get support or the help that I needed. The provided lessons and learning materials were top-notch and informative. My tests were always returned in the provided turnaround time, even during busy periods like OUAC collection week. I applied for university using this course from OVS, and sent my grades to OUAC in a timely manner. I would definitely recommend OVS to any of my peers or family.

I had an excellent experience completing SBI4U (Grade 12 University Biology) through Ontario Virtual School. The course was well organized, the learning materials were clear, and the lessons explained concepts in a way that made even challenging topics much easier to understand. The assessments were also varied, which made the course much more engaging than simply completing multiple choice quizzes.

One thing I especially appreciated was how responsive and supportive the teachers and administrative staff were. Whenever I had a question, I received helpful email responses within a reasonable amount of time, and my assignments were marked promptly with detailed feedback that helped me improve throughout the course.

The administrative process was also very smooth. Report card processing was quick and straightforward, and there were no hidden fees or unexpected costs beyond what was clearly stated when I enrolled.

I had a pleasant experience with Ontario Virtual School. I did Grade 12 Chemistry (SCH4U), and all of the lessons were straight forward and easy to follow. The teacher explained very clearly and well, with additional examples and videos to further my understanding. The work was fairly simple as well, as they consisted of all labs, but I would prefer doing a variety of work related to chemistry rather than labs all of the time. My teacher graded my work and responded to my emails within 1-2 business days, and I enjoyed the dedication and work that my teacher put out to grade my work. It was easy to add on OVS onto my OUAC and understand the different deadlines because OVS sends out announcements with instructions. Overall, I would definitely recommend OVS to my friends and family.

I was really nervous about using online schooling after some unpleasant experiences during Covid, but learning chemistry through OVS was extremely easy and fun! My teacher’s lessons were entertaining and he answered my questions diligently and fully. They gave me the support and confidence that I needed to feel prepared for my oncoming course. OVS is an excellent program and I really recommend them!

All systems were extremely easy to use, the lessons made sense and I enjoyed how everything was asynchronous. I would just recommend that tests be shorter, maybe 5-6 pages instead of 8.

I took ENG3U during the year and I was very pleased with my final grade. The support and tools offered, as well as my teacher being very prompt in responding and grading, all contributed towards my high achievement.
The assignments were just the right amount of challenging, and the instructions were always clear.

As a homeschooled student looking for six grade 12 credits to apply to university, OVS has been a perfect fit for me and nothing but a positive experience. The support is readily available and the communication system between teachers has been top tier compared to other online platforms I have tried. The teaching staff is truly exceptional as well with all marks being returned in 24-48 hours!

For ENG4U, I had Mr. Ford and he was so patient and kind, always willing to provide help and feedback about assignments. Although this course was administered online, he makes an effort in student/teacher interactions making the learning experience so much more personal. He marks work quickly and always leaves constructive comments that have helped me grow in my writing style.

I also completed SBI4U through OVS and had Ms. Layne as my teacher. She answered my numerous questions patiently and thoroughly allowing me to deepen my understanding about this subject. She grades assignments promptly and fairly and has really helped me enjoy learning about biology!

I have had such a great experience with OVS that I am already enrolled in another course and have recommended this platform to numerous friends/family who have also had positive experiences. OVS was truly worth every penny!

I definitely reccomend OVS to anybody looking to take online classes. (I have previously referred multuple of my friends, too) I took their Grade 12 physics course (SPH4U) with Ms. Vanderkamp and she is a great teacher. She responds to emails very quickly, with detailed answers and care. She also grades fairly and within the 48 hour window that OVS promises. (Sometimes she even grades on weekends, despite the fact that weekends are not included in the 48 hour promise, outstanding!) She also consistently left a lot of helpful feedback, and explained where every mark or deduction came from.

The lessons were not too long, and the overall organisation of the course was fantastic. Each unit had no more than 15 lessons, and each lesson was at most an hour. I liked how I could pause and take notes whenever I wanted, and the educational videos embedded in the lessons were very helpful for visualising difficult concepts. I also appreciated how the website tracks your progress, reminding you which lessons you have completed and which assignments are required for mid-term or final report cards. Furthermore, the tests are very fair and the questions touch only upon the course material covered in the lessons, making it challenging but not impossible. Overall a good experience and I was able to achieve the mark I wanted! :)

Just finished MCV4U (Calculus & Vectors) with OVS and overall it was a really solid experience. As expected for a university-level math course, it was definitely challenging, but the lessons genuinely helped me work through the material and understand it properly. I think this format would be especially helpful for anyone who struggles to focus in a traditional in-person classroom and wants the freedom to learn at their own pace. The lessons and materials were well organized, and assessments had good variety instead of being just multiple choice. Marking was honestly one of the best parts, everything came back within 2-3 days, even the exam and final assessments which I did toward the end of the course when things get more hectic. It was really reassuring knowing the teachers marked just as fast regardless of timing. Admin support was responsive too, and report card processing was fast, which mattered a lot since I needed mine quickly for a university conditional offer. Would definitely recommend OVS, especially if you prefer learning independently.
