Today I would like to share with you my recent experience with virgin media. It was not the best experience I've had.
Last month my contract with virgin come to an end, so my promotional price wouldn't be valid any more. The new price was far to high for us so we decided to end our relationship with this provider and find a new one keeping this 30 days notice. I have called on end of February to virgin to let them know this sad news. As we all can except they try to keep us by offering a better price but I did some reshearch and knew that this "better price" is still not low enough.
So I said that "I want to leave with end of my contract". Obviously the consultant keeps trying to persuade me away from this idea but we decided already and we didn't want to stay. So I kept repeating "I want to leave with end of my contract". On the end of conversation he asked me do I want to make any other changes in my account and I said "no, just want to leave with end of my contract". And that was it. I was sure that we close this case and we found a new provider, much cheaper. We was still recieving a signal from virgin which was a bit weird but I took that as miscalculation. Try to imagine how big a suprise for us it was when from my account was booked another payment for internet and it wasn't discount price. I was furious. I was sure that I did everything what I had to, to end of this contract. I've called to the call centre and the lady told me that I didn't make any changes so they just continued to send me a signal. When I asked for an explanation once again, she checked records and she found out that i wanted to leave with my contract coming to an end and that i didnt want to make any changes. Also she said, to end the contract I need to say I want to "cancel it". But tell me please how I can cancel something which was ending anyway? I didn't want to cancel anything, I just want to not extend my original contract and leave with end of it. But because I didn't use the right words nothing happened and need to pay one more payment if I'll "cancel" this today (30 days notice). So 2 bills to pay after first phone call to endind my contract.
When you gonna call to this call centre make a sure you will use the right words, otherwise they just gonna ignore you.
